  1. Then you put the screw in the hole (!!!) and tighten up. Not too tight cause it's into aluminium, but it must be flat with the base of the BOV.
  2. I found a wood screw that had a flat head that was about 1 1/2 inches long. It'll be hard to find one that fits good, but keep looking. The important thing to do is to counter sink the hole a little in the BOV so when you screw the screw in it sits flat with the base of the BOV. You can see it in this pic.
  3. I took my BOV off today cause I was sure it was leaking, and you wouldn't believe what I found out... The factory BOV is designed to leak !!!! Yepp, it's designed to leak.... Have a look at the attached pic. If you blow into the return pipe (big pipe on the bottom lefthand side) it will blow through the BOV and out that little hole on the front. That means there is always a path to recuiculate a small amount of air even when the BOV is totally shut !!! I don't know why.... Anyway, here is a quick "how too". I got this idea from a bloke on SDU. The link is here http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/show...=&postid=191358 J
  4. Yeah, but I'm sure it'd apply to the GTS-t's as well. If in dought, drop APEXi in USA a email and ask them. But I'd be inclind to go with the Pro - not that I've ever been with a Pro    That'll be my next big investement on the car, a PFC Pro with the ad-on boost controler. J
  5. I've seen someone on SDU manage to squueze 3 52mm gauges in the centre bit under the stereo. Looked great. It was a very very tight fit, and I think he had to angle the gauges towards the driver slightly to fit them in!!!! The problem with getting the GTR center doova is that it goes right up the top where the air con is. It has that corner bit (top right) missing to fit in there, but so does the air con So if you move the air con down, or put the GTR doova under the air con, the middle one will have the corner piece missing as well..... Another thing about the GTR console is that it takes 42 or 45mm gauges, which are hard to find. And there's no use using the GTR gauges cause it has the 4wd gauge on it which will be usless on a GTS-t J
  6. From what I've read, it seems the pro has more load points and has the benefit of an auxilary rev limit which is great for consistant launches. Ie. set the aux rev limit too 3000rpm, flaten the throttle and it'll sit there at 3000rpm until you start moving. Great for drags. Here is a good read on SDU http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/show...&threadid=20820
  7. Matt - sweet.. That's what I like to hear. Rev - I had a good look at it yesterday, and I don't think I'll be able to keep the shroud But I'll do my best to try and keep it, even if I have to chop it a bit. I let you know how I go on the weekend. J
  8. I grabbed a second hand 16 inch Davies Craig fan for $150, and bought the thermostat switch and relay stuff from Supa Cheap for $70. The 16 incher flows up to 2200cfm !!!!! Masive difference from the 12 inch which can do about 950cfm, and the 10 does something like 700cfm. My clutch fan is getting squeeky, plus when you look at it when at idle it has a wooble to it..... The wobble can't be a good thing for balance and drag, so I thought I get rid of it before it stuffs the water pump or something.. J
  9. LOL - I think it's time for a change anyway I'll see what I can come up with BTW: I'm doing a thermo fan install on mine this weekend (if I can get off my butt), it's half in ATM (thermostat and wiring), just have to put the fan on. I'll let you know how it goes and if it makes a difference. J
  10. Rev, I reckon you'll break into the 12's. Your not far off it now !! Like you said, it's all about being smart with what mods you do. Keep us updated as you go. J

    sikalfex!!

LOL that's funny... S I K A F L E X...... slllooooowwwllyyy.. Anyway, if you get stuck, go out to a panel beating shop, or a place that sells spray painters and panel beaters gear. They should have about 4 gallons of the stuff. J
  12. Is that oil temp or water temp??? My oil temp was sitting on about 90 degrees while on the highway (110km/h) and sat on around 75-80 when putting around. The oil coolers must work pretty good (Jay put's one on his shopping/wish list!!).
  13. After reading 2rismo's post, now my eyes are hurting along with my brain !!! But it makes sense. On the deflating the tyres thing, that might actually reduce the rolling diameter even further (axle will be closer to the ground), but I'm sure it would be mm we're talking about LOL. I think I've got a headache now
  14. LOL cool, I'm glad I'm not the only dodgy person around I saw a Nismo 86 degree thermostat somewhere, but they wanted about $120 or something like that for it. !!! But then again, it did have the nismo name !!
  15. He he he. That would look funny, actually that size has a bigger overall diameter compared to the 205/55/16 !!! But gezz you'd smoke them up good   From 205/50/16's to 205/55/16's is a massive 3.35% difference LOL. So your stock final drive of 4.11 would change to 3.97, or is that 4.25 ??? That's if I'm working it out right (brain still in holiday mode) I can never work out which way it goes   Anyway - that's a bit off topic. Impressive run no dought. J
  16. Cool - I was starting to wonder why my factory Japanese tyre placard was wrong Yeah, run her up on the dyno just for interests sakes. Then you can say "I could run a 13.4 pass with only XXXrwkw". That'll get the big boys wondering :uh-huh: J
  17. Great time Rev - congrats. I've been thinking about a few things (yes, it hurt !!) Stock tyres on a GTS-t are 225/50/16's. So if your running 205/50/16's the rolling diameter is going to be smaller which will give you better acceleration. Sort of like running a different dif ratio - sort of Well, you know what I mean anyway.... It may not account for much, but it could help. Also, from what I've read, and expreianced myself, it seems the 1995 GTS-t ECU's seem to handle boost increases etc. better. They don't seem to have as much of a really big dip in power where it retards the timing heaps when your running higher than stock boost (alot of you guys have felt this I bet). I know of 2 poeple that are around the 190rwkw mark on the stock 1995 ECU with no piggybacks. I popped the tacho output on my stock ECU (1995 GTS-t), and got a second hand one off of a 1993 model. It runs the car fine, but it is down on power for sure, plus it now has big dips in power when accelerating hard where the 1995 ECU didn't From looking at them (1995 v 1993 ECU) the 1995 has a newer firmware on the main chip. Maybe they don't run as rich or something??? I'm really not sure.... Soooo, is it possible that a 1995 GTS-t ECU may be a cheap upgrade for people???? Again, great time, well done. If I get a time under the 16 sec mark I'll be happy J
  18. One thing I used to do in my old car cause it used to always overheat in summer, was to drill a 1/8th inch hole in the side of the thermostat so it would always bleed a bit of water through slowly. Not sure if it was a good idea, but it worked great. J
  19. A good day. Shame I didn't around to say hi to everyone. I loooooooooove Macquire Pass. It's like a massive hill climb race that goes for about 20 minutes. Great fun. The shock of the day was when we just got to that car park everyone was at at Port Kembla and you guys went to pizza hut. We hung around for 10 minutes to have a rest, then we looked over at the yobbos that just pulled up next to us and the bloke in the back seat had his arms strapped up trying to find a vein. Then we watch as he pulled his needle out and continued to shoot right next to us !!!!! We left straight after that........ Nice place
  20. Yeah, just do the exhaust gear. The car will run like a dog if you take the VCT off and keep the factory cam. You can give me the other HKS cam gear if you want The general consesus on the RB25DET with factory turbo blah blah blah, is to run 4 degrees (crank) retard on the exhaust cam. But it could vary from car to car depending on your mods I suppose. J
  21. I noticed after I put the FMIC in that the water and oil temps are up by about 10 degrees or so. I'm putting in a 16 inch davies craig (or is that craig davies??? ) fan in next weekend. I don't have to, but I noticed that the clutch fan is squeaking and has a slight wobble to it !!! So I'd hate to think what it is like at 6000rpm If your worried about temps, go the thermostat, then thermo fans, then oil cooler or 32mm radiator and see how you go. J
  22. I 'might' be able to make it. Gotta shuffle somethings etc. So you guys are meeting at Hombush at 12... What time do you think you'll be at the 'gong??? If I go I'll meet you at the 'gong. Also, what's the cops like there? Do they hand out defects if you sneeze while your driving past them? The car is legal (mmm hang on, the a pillar gauges.. d'oh), just don't want the hassle. J
  23. I've got one embarasing story. A VN commie pulls up next to me and give it the rev rev. I though "not again......" Lights go green we both tramp it and I just spin... and spin... and spin, all through first and second. Wasn't until third that I got traction but by that time we were doing 80 and the drag had finished........... We kept neck to neck all the way to 80 !!! The next week I got rid of my $93 rear tyres and put on a set of 901's at $240 each.... Much better now !!! But I can just see what the bloke is telling all his friends "I kept up with a modded R33, their not so good after all"
  24. Good stuff. Thanks Ed. J
  25. G'day Ed, I'd say they could book you the same as they book people for using mobile phones. But I think it's fine to have it on and on the seat next to you. They would have to catch you actually talking into it. I used to be a big CB user years ago, and the cops never worried about it then, but ahhhh how times have changed.. LOL J
