That's the resonator. It stops all the in cabin drone that can happen. Some people run them without them, but I wouldn't recomend it, plus these Jap exhausts tend to be JUST legal, removing (or not using) a resonator could push you over the limit J

Yepp, spot on   I could be right of the mark here, but I think the database looks at the first 3 sets of numbers in the IP address (eg. 203.198.54....) by default to figure out who the person is. But I'm not sure if it's possible to make it look at the full IP address (eg 203.198.54.23). J

Hi guys, Just a quick one. Since I changed over to iPrimus I've noticed that when I load up SAU forums I get logged in as someone else automatically. Just then (within 5 mintutes) I was logged in as 2 different people and then finally myself. I'd say that we're all on iPrimus, can something be done about this at all??? I know it's something about the our IP addresses and the database thinking we're someone else. The only reason it concerns me is cause I've been PM'd by people buying stuff off me, and they have given me their addresses, and I don't want their addresses to be made semi public (if you know what I mean). Thanks guys, your doing a great job :uh-huh: :uh-huh: J

Yepp - I understand that it needs rewriting. But what about the wiring??? Any ideas if the plugs and pinouts the same?? Thanks J -

Hay Joel, Do you know if the Z32 ECU is a direct plugin for the R33's, or do you have to rewire it to suit?? -

Joel, I'm really not sure about that one. I know that the R32 ECU has bad ignition maps (for the RB20det), I'd say this is partly becuase of the lower quality fuel we use here. And the R33 ECU has bad ignition and fuel maps (for the RB25det), again, partly becuase of the fuel we use. But I also read somewhere that Nissan made the maps to overfuel while on full boost to keep everything cool (piston tops etc.) So maybe it is due to the factory maps and us using lower RON fuel just makes it worse??? Not sure J -
kjb_r33, It's funny you mentioned that, cause that happend to me yesterday (saying about the unread posts...) And the logging in as someone else, appaently that can happen somtimes if your on the same ISP. Are you with Iprimus or Optus??? Well the error that I metioned in my first thread has gone, whether it's cause I've rebooted since then, or something else I'm not sure

I've got a mechanical in mine (R33 GTS-t), and they are a bit noisey on slow tight corners when you accelerate. But it's really not that bad. One thing I found with it is that it's very very predictable, and when the back comes out it's slow and gradual (unless it's in the rain - then it just comes out and stays there ), but even in the rain you know what it's going to do. I can't comment about track work.... yet It's hard for me to compare cause I got mine with the machanical, and I STILL haven't done any 1/4 times or 100km/h times. J

G'day guys. After getting anoyed with the factroy torn gearstick and handbrake boots in my R33 I decided to make my own out of black leather. They came out so good that I'm now making them for SAU forum members (so far I've made about 80 sets for SAU people !!) Here's all the info on them - make sure you read all of this cause it'll probably answer all your questions. I can only make the boot sets for the R33 GTS's, GTS-t's and GTR's (sorry R32 and R34 guys). To keep the price down, I only make them in all black. That's black leather, black stitching and black studs. Sorry guys, I won't be doing them in different colours, the cost goes through the roof. What Do I Have To Do With Them When I get Them? When you get them in the mail (postal info is below), all you'll need to do is sew in the wire frame that's currently down the bottom of your factory handbrake boot, into the new boot that I send you. And also install the rubber collett that's currently around the top of your factory gearstick boot into the new one I send you (Canberra people - I can install them for you). It's really easy stuff, and I've posted up the full install procedures a few posts below, along with some pictures of what you get and what they look like. Postage I send them out COD post so you only have to pay for them when you pick them up. Much safer this way as I've had a few things go missing through Aust Post With COD post, the courier will come around to the address that you give me to hand them over. If your there at the time, then you just pay the money. If your not there at the time then the courier will leave a card telling you where they can be picked up from. COD post cost an extra $12 nation wide so it's cheap insurance. International Orders I am now set up with PayPal and will ship via fully tracked EMS postage (ems postage is $40 worldwide). Cost Price of the boot set is $65 for both boots, or $40 for just the handbrake boot (for the Auto guys) and $30 for just the gearstick boot. Note that if you only get one boot and you've got a manual car then the colour and texture is slightly different to the factory boot set. So total cost for a set will be $65 + $12 postage = $77 *From each batch I make a $50 donation will be sent to SAU* BTW: I just found out that a workshop in Sydney sell the leather handbrake boots for R33 for $95 exchange!!! That's JUST the handbrake boot!!! Ordering To order a set, just put a post up here or you can PM with your details. Generally I make a batch every 6-8 weeks if I've got the order numbers up, although at them moment I have 4-5 sets ready to post out right now if anyone is interested. Feel free to ask me any questions. Cheers Jayson

Is anyone else getting this or is it just my stupid computer !!! When I hit the "view new threads" button on the main page I get the pop-up "save as" option !!!! I can't open it or save it. It doesn't do this on any other forum, or any other button for that matter........... Here is a screen shot of what it does when I hit the button. Thanks J BTW: Sorry for the crappy pic.

boost increase = big flat spot + hesitation
Jay95R33 replied to nick_w's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Most people will encounter some sort of flat spot when the boost is increased. But believe me - the flat spot isn't really that bad compared to the increase in performace you get :uh-huh: :uh-huh: :burnout: -
Well done Cam, I bet you had a big grin on your face when it was done. J

You've encounted the flatspot that everyone hates From what people have found is that it's the ECU either retarding the timing heaps for some reason, or the AFM is maxing out for a spit second. I know what your feeling, and it's damn frustrating. From what I've read a S-AFC helps with the problem. Not much else can be done sadly :D Otherwise it's a replacement ECU. -
Thanks guys. We all might have to get together one day for the pizza and beer :uh-huh: :uh-huh: J
-
Troy your one funny bloke    He he he.... Not sure how the old lady next door would react to that !!! Ahhh, brings back memories of my youth - naked runs up and down the street when you've hit your Bourbon limit But I must admit - pizza and beer do sound VERY atractive :burnout:
-
Tempting, but with only 16 spots we might be pushed to get in Why don't we organise our own??? Just a thought. Whytry - G'day and welcome. Now that your a forum member your now part of us We're a pretty easy going bunch and have cruises/bbq's every few months or so. Anybody is welcome to come along. It would be good if you could make it along to our next one (whenever that is ) I'd looooovvve to have a look at your car. J

Looks good. So a new cooler really does kick butt.... Hmmm, might have to start saving. Good to see you got it in. Nothing better than getting a mod in and it makes a big improvement. J

What sort of prices are the GTS-t's and the GTS4's going for at the moment?
-
Baaaahahahahahahahahahahaah Bozz - you are officially now a legend. I love your work..
-
Yepp, that's the one. I got a hack for it to give you the Viper GT - basically fits it out with every goodie you can get - that thing screams... lol
-
It's an oldie, but still one of the ones I play heaps - Viper Racing. The sound it makes is great

A mate has a GTS4 turbo and the launches he can do in that thing is amazing. And it can really get you out of the crap in the wet too !!!! I'd go the GTS4 for sure, it's heavier sure, but a few mods will fix that. J
