Just a quick update. I dropped into DSE to have a chat. If you guys buy more than 5 units the price will drop to $93 each. If getting more than 10 they sugested that you contact the Sydney head office directly to get a better deal. You might be able to get a few more bucks off each, but I really don't think it will be a heap off. J

He he he.. I use a headset at work all the time (nope, I'm not on a call centre !!) and they are great. Takes a while to get used to them but they are great. You can be talking on the phone while your picking your nose and scratching your nads at the sametime !!! Ahhhhh, the bliss......... There's a DSE store close by me (and I used to work at DSE many many moons ago), so I'll stop in there and have a chat to them and see what can be done if we buy say... 10+ of them. J

Found the pages. Check them out. This is the review page; http://www.dansdata.com/digitalk.htm And this is where they are on special for $69. http://www.prestigecom.net.au It's on the right handside in the specials thingy!! Reading what they have there, I'm not sure now if the $69 includes the earphone/boom mic or not. Their wording is a bit wierd. J

I have this sound when I start it first thing in the mornings. I crank it, it starts, then you hear click click. I 'think' I know how not to make the noise. This morning I was running mega low on fuel - on the E mark. So I thought I'd let the fuel pump prime the system well before I started her up. I put it in the 'ON' position for about 5 seconds until the fuel pump stopped priming, then started it up. And there wasn't any clicking noises !!!! I have no idea what the clicking is, but try doing the above before you start her up. Worth a try. J

I hope this doesn't throw a spanner in the works about which ones to get, but James (R32_gts4-t) found a really good one on the net that has all the features of the Uniden one and more, plus it comes with a earphone and boom mic that can be used via VOX. And the good thing is that they are on special at the moment for $69 (down from $99), that price includes the earphone/boom mic. I'll try and find the web page so you can have a look and see what you think. Ever way james and I are getting one this week. It was a lonely trip on the way home, and a handheld would have been great. J

D'oh, yepp that might help !!! I know that ARE in Brissie sell them. Have a look at their web site at www.are.com.au J

What an awesome day !! Big thanks goes to Shell for getting it going, and Neil (NDR) for bringing the hot plate - other wise I would've died of starvation. Met some great people on the day, it's just a shame I didn't get around to meet everyone. It's a shame there was so much traffic on the twisties on the way back home Those 25km/h corners are perfect little drifters So whens the next one:burnout: :burnout: :jump: :jump:

After reading these posts I had an idea. What you need is a simple circuit to keep the spray on for a while to stop heat soak after a run (ready for the next one) and to be able to press a button and give it a good squirt just before a run. Soooo, how about this. Use a presure switch so when it hits say 7psi the squirties come on and stay on for 15 seconds after the presure drops below 7psi (just a delay really). And wire it up so when you press the manual switch inside the cabin (just before a run) the squirties squirt away for the 15 second period as well. This way you have manual control before a run, and automatic control after a run. And just have a switch in the engine bay somewhere were you can turn the whole thing off in winter. But as said before, it will only be usefull in hotter weather. BTW: I'm LOVING this minus 4 and 5 nights we're having here :P

Go get a Craig Davies electric one. I think the biggest one they have is about $250 (16 inch), so you should be able to get a smaller one for $150ish maybe? J

Stocker - you don't have to be at your car for them to give you a defect. Sure it would be harder for them cause they can't open the bonnet and can only go on from what they see from the outside. In Canberra, since they got rid of the compolsorary rego checks each year, the RTA go around to shopping mall car parks and check car by car. They either leave a note to say your car has been checked and is OK, or leave a note saying "off to the pits for a full inspection!!" J

Some Nissan dealers can be thick as two planks of wood. I got those boot clips from the Nissan dealer here, but I think the clips were actually for a Nissan Pathfinder !!! They aren't the same colour though - slightly darker. Not sure about the pin for the thingy. You might have to do a special order for that one. J

Wheel Size and it's effect to your speedo...
Jay95R33 replied to Pva_Glue's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Wooo Hoooo. I remembered!!!! Here is that site. It's mega slow to load. http://www.secret-secret.com/turbo/DIY/tir.../turbotire.html J -
Mat, How did you car behave after you put the GTR cams in? Was there any noticable difference in power and smoothness? I'm thinking that you may have had to get rid of the variable timing thingy... Is that right? Thanks Jayson

Wheel Size and it's effect to your speedo...
Jay95R33 replied to Pva_Glue's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
That's it. If the 18" tyres aren't matched right and have a bigger outside diameter, effectivly the bigger diameter tyre will travel further with one rotation. So if your 16" tyre travels say.... 3 meters with one rotation, and your 18" tyre that isn't matched correctly travels 3.5 meters, then your speedo will be out by about 15%. This is where you have to make sure the bigger tyre has the same outside diameter than the 16" one (the bigger the tyre the lower the profile). There was this really good Java applet that I found on a web site one day that works it all out for you. I've got the link at work, so if I remember I'll post it up. J -
Gezzz, another damn camera that I'll have to kep away from on Sunday

Canberra R32/R33 Questions :)
Jay95R33 replied to sigsputnik's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Dude... The cruise isn't on 'till next Sunday. So you can still check the cars out -
Adam 32, Have a good look at the pics on my site, you see that I've still got both intercooler pipes in place and how the filter breathes. The filter breathes through the front of the box (hasn't got a front on it) from around the headlight. And then I put a hole into the inner guard just incase. If you haven't got a black plastic inner guard around your wheel then you might get some crap come up to the hole. I've got my plastic guard in place and I've been running the box and filter like that for about 9 months and the filter is still almost like new (I check it every 5000km when I do an oil change). J

Canberra R32/R33 Questions :)
Jay95R33 replied to sigsputnik's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Sig, Shell is right, remember that your buying a second hand car. When I got mine it was missing a few little clips on the inside and things. I quick trip too Nissan and I had all the things I was missing for about $70. Nissan in at Phillip can get spares, but usually they will have to put in a special order. I did a special order for a sun visor clip. All up cost of $17, and they had to do a special order from Japan and they didn't charge me anymore for it... He he he Meet us at the Shell servo on Sunday if you want (see the Canberra/Sydney cruise thread), and you can have a look over our cars, Jamie will be there with his R32 as well, so you can look at both the R33's and R32. J -
Shell, Cool, Jamie and I will take along a few litres of drinks (non Ach - sorry guys ), and some other stuff too. So how many Canberra people we got going? hands up everyone, I know theres more of us than just Shell Jamie and I..... BTW: going by the size of Monty I think half a cow MIGHT fill him up
