  8. serious? the ridiculous idle, cranck evac line, huge 80+mm turbo, 6 point roll cage etc wont give it away before they even bother opening the boot. PS the guys with john there are firey's

  10. Im downloading mine now. was a pretty good day but i agree bad day with the F1. lets just say you all missed john with RH9 and its huge cams making the car sound like a rotary with the idle so lumpy haha
  11. yep most power etc would be by L/kW. now make sure your there! Cejay - do you guys need help with it at all? will it be 10 skylines vs 10 supras (im sure it'll be a struggle for 10 supras haha) also would there be a "best make" award eg highest make average or something?
  12. comes down to your budget. these days haltec and vipec have perfected the plu'n'play setups which helps reduce your install costs significantly. plug in uses the factory harness and sensors. custom get pricey!! again speak with your tuner as they will anser these questions better than an forum!
  13. Vipec for the win. general rule of thumb. pick the tuner not the ECU (unless your talking motec). you want the best result for the car so use what the tuner recommends! who are you going to?

  17. lets face it how long is a piece of string. the only way to compare both engines is brand new without a single modification. all this talk about one is better than the other becuase it will hold 1500hp vs 1300hp etc is not a comparrision of anything other than the factory block that has been modified grout filled and so on. The race to 400kws at the wheels you can't beat the 2j as a cheap single turbo conversion and basic fuel, cooler, ecu tune and clutch. the internals are more than capable of holding this power daily for many years. Some may have valve stem issues over the years but in the scheme of things the cost to replace those is hardly worht mentioning. Obviously there are always exceptions to this where a 2j could have been poorly serviced and thrashed before arriving here, which may blow with a mild boost increase. An rb is going to require rebuild to maintain 400kws at the wheels which immediately doubles the cost (yes some can complete this in the backyard but reality is most wont or cant) to achieve this goal. it will also require the same fuel etc upgrades. the gear boxes "can" start to have issues (exception of the GTR which has a similar box to supra) which can also increase the costs. either way they're both equally as good as each other. where one lacks the other pics up. one loves to rev the other not as much. Its comapring apples with oranges.

  19. well its been awhile since I've udated this as nothing has really happened. the car goes out each weekend with lots of thumbs up along the streets from people including a guy in a Ferrari WOOT haha. Im glad i have the plastic mvp lip as bumps and a low front is painful with gutters the underside has been given a rough time thats for sure. I drove to Sydney last month for some 400m action. I babied the crap out of the car with terrible 60fts (2.4 was my best) and slow ETs due to the auto TT diff and needing 5th to cross the line. best time for the night was 13.2 which is crap but was a lot of fun. Im going back up in May with the same setup and bigger balls of the line to see what i can do with 19" street tyres before i put MT street and 16" wheels on the back. here are a couple pics from the drags Last night Dustin and I pulled the car apart and this was the result... The parts will be going to High Octane Coatings to be covered in high temp black ceramic. the dump and wastegate tube will be further wrapped in titanium heat wrap material. Manifold will be treated to a heat shield as well. Ive got a couple more parts to polish ready for a show in 2 weeks here in canberra. Im putting my CAMS licence appilcation in early next week so i can also enter the car in a few events such as motorkahna and hill climbs etc My first Kahna will be in April which should be fun!
  20. silver 35 at gungahlin shops this morning. had a black stager follow me in the work car from gungahlin down the GDE construction site(s) and a black gtt this morning up erindale drive.
  21. how'd you find GAS? A lot of supras have been having majr isses with these guys now. PM if its easier
