  1. spotted a silver gtt heading towards woden yesterday with a gtr badge on the back
  2. how about a swap matt The iforged wheels did cost a bit. The previous CCW wheels were 18x10 and 18x13, hence the 335 rear tyre. Unfortunately the iforged wheels are slightly narrower, 19x10 and 19x12. The new iforged wheels have 315 continental tyres, which cost as much as the 335s. One good thing about the supra is the guys in the US have tried and tested a lot of different set-ups. And with the dollar so go atm its an even better incentive to buy from the US.
  3. Really? Might have to change it if it looks like a magna haha I have found it to be much quiter inside. That said the car has a 4” exhaust that is near straight and a muffler that doesn’t really muffle anything haha HKS ti exhaust is awesome but loud!! There has been a significant change in the stereo sound. With a third of the volume it seems to be 5 times louder and much clearer etc. it also has the nice luxury style door closing thud sound haha Grey carpet is crap. I purchased the black carpet, black vinyl roof lining and all the other bits from a wrecked late model. They’re all highly sort after parts so they cost a fortune for used parts haha Have a chat with Dusty from MVP. Exceptional service and great pricing. I wouldn’t buy parts from anyone else these days. No one in Australia comes close to his level of service! If you don’t like the stock dash then perhaps a moulded motec digital dash is the go. Check a guy by the name of Jamie P in the UK to see what I mean. Traction control is gone however i didn’t get a chance to polish the TB and remove the traction control flap. I guess its partly do with still wanting a hypertune intake on there. I think your best option would be to relocate the radiator closer to the front. That way you’ll have ample room to put the WTA cooler in-between the block and radiator. Putting it up the front will give it plenty of air with out anything to block it like the intercooler etc hell you could even try v mounting the radiator and putting the WTA cooler below of above without blocking air flow? My shroud is not the best but i think it has more to do with the dodgy fluidyne radiator too... Mate if i could afford both i would but there is no way. I love the look of the supra compared to the GTR. The big draw card for me is you can have a motor like Matts racepace rb28 that looks relatively standard but still pumps 400wasps at all 4s. Even if i didn’t have a polished motor or even a small 30 series turbo, its still obvious whats happened. And while ACT police wouldn’t care about the motor, when they defect height or noise, the car needs to go over the pits. The twats there will want it all engineered and then once that happens they wont even except the certificate...not worth the hassel! I guess tastes change over time as well as requirements so the supra needs to go haha
  4. Thanks mate. The colour is the 996 porsche gunmetal grey that has had a few tweaks along the way, really just a few extra pearls. I didnt wigh the car but i would estimate it added a mere 20kgs. i had to door kits and 2 bulk packs which can all be held by one hand. I ahd also removed all the sound deadening in the car but that was only about 6kgs all up. I laugh at people that think removing soundeadening makes a big difference, when half of then could loose the weight by taking a dump before they race! The shop that painted it was smashtech in sydney. The shop ill be taking it to soon is KMF in canberra. Naz the owner was the painter for boostn rodeo etc Smashtech were good, they got the car finished quickly, but dont rub cars back "as it removes the gloss finish" or to lazy. its not 100% but then again I think i've become pretty anal about small things which will anouye me but most people who look at the car cant even see the details haha The shiney engine bling is polished billet from the US. Jump on the MVP motorsprt website and have a look. I'll get some closer pics soon. The ingnitor cover, dip stick, and master and clutch cylinder caps all have the supra logo embossed into them. The TRD dash is awesome but damn hard to find as a full set. Traction isnt too bad at all. out of a launch its not crash hot but it'll hold high boost without an issue. I'm sure the sudden change in weight distribution on a launch is causing the problem haha The FMIC is only 130mm thick, 4row trust cooler, stopped myself getting the 150mm thick core haha I was going to put a HID kit into the high beam but i think its over kill. i found the low beam HID kit over powered the high beam previously while driving. There is a reasonable gap there. ESP relocated their radiatior further forward so they could use a large water intercooler. you looking at running methanol? I know Darin from titan motorsprts ran a meth setup with his 4788. Just have to finish the last few things so i can sell it off. very much over this car now haha
  5. bit of a test fit this evening.... factory big brakes should be on shortly too.. whoops... so hopefully i can have this finished very soon so i can start looking to purchase a R34 vspecii
  6. engine bay is slowly coming together... still more polishing to do. this took about 3 hours last night... My head unit had is playing up and needs to be sent off to be checked. Now i have to pull the wiring harness etc out so it can be tested. I'm also getting a few different designs made up for custom boot install. Once the stereo has been finalised i can finish retriming the interior. Im also looking into a set of wheels that if all goes to plan i should have them here with in the next few weeks. not a great update but i finally wired in the HID's. All the wirring is hidden to make it look stock! Just need my indicator harnesses to arrive soon so i can take the car to my audio guys to check my head unit and see why it wont turn on. Then its some tweaks to the brakes and some further body work before i could comfortable say the car is around 85% complete! LED parker Low beam low and fog all three and here is my dash in the dark new wheels just arrived....and yes these wheels are ISIS old wheels iforged aero 19x10 and 19x12
  7. whilst the carbon dash panels are being manufactured i thought id have my normal panels sprayed to match the car... since they're 2pac they should be pretty hard wearing! new toy arrived today... Its official...i need a built motor and cams haha. well not straight away but soon! Once i tidy up all the small things i will start stage 3 "rebuild". Car made its first appearance on the dyno today and heres the result...
  8. Gave the car a quick clean (and by clean i mean hose and wipe only haha) yesterday before it left for the mechanics for the tune and last bit of wiring (fans, eboost etc) then i tried a very rough mook fit of the front bar and front lip heres are some really bad short videos of the car on start up and with the muffler attached... and some clearer engine shots...still more things to be done.... batterys new home...
  9. so the car came back from the exhaust shop yesterday afternoon. I wasnt able to stay for long enough to get more pics so here are a couple teasers... As you can see we had to modify the wastegate point on the 6boost manifold as there was no way the 60mm gate would fit and we also didnt want to plumb the wastegate directly behind the exhaust housing to prevent turbulence. Unfortunately the shitty body kit does not fit the HKS exhaust so the read bar will need to be cut and repainted etc i will be sending the car to another body sho (that makes it number 3) to correctly install the side skirts underneath the car, modify the front bar that was not modified and fix a few paint issues. over the Christmas/ New year shut down period i decided to start putting the interior back in. Im really glad i went with the black carpet because it really does make a huge difference! more to come...
  10. now the pictures are back. bye bye stock turbos box of goodies things getting ready... polishing intake...very rough job as i did most of it in one night end result motor is in... intercooler on turbo side fab'd up... again sorry about the pics most are off my iphone which lets face it has a pretty bad camera!
  11. Painted my brake booster as the first repairer had it sitting in brake fluid hopefully the car will be ready for transport tomorrow night! Then its motor and gear box time! Couple more pics... Finished engine bay minus the motor obviously Interior going in including a new dash pad and wiring harness And now its off to is new home ESP racing... Fingers crossed it wont be here for long! [/
  12. Car finally arriving home. The weather was pretty bad so the colour doesn’t look anything like it does in the sun! Still a long way to go though! New manifold arrives.. Fuel system has also arrived Vipec (computer) has arrived but i dont have pics Sold the wheels as they didn’t fit 100% and heading towards 19s now back to stockers! the start of a new, quiter interior! Now over the last few days a mate and i have started the gruelling task of putting this car back together I’m definitely thinking dark wheels are the way to go... Watch this front...tomorrow it will be quite different! seriously why do we do this....
  13. sneak peak at the new colour.... So close to paint! Let me introduce project TRD now with colour... doors that still have more clear to go... finished product should be something like this... Few more things from dear old Dusty! and something a little different new seats...
  14. Couple months later the insurance company finally agree to send it to Sydney to be finished... hmmm the choices... Car arrives at its new home for awhile... New turbo arrives... First attempt polishing...i think ill stick with choming! In 2 weeks more work occurs on the car then it has in over a year!
  15. here are some clearer photos of the car after another month...(not really an update) front bar, rear spoiler and rare bar have still not even been started... After 13 months of nothing i finally have a small win and get the car home... so i spent 6 hours removing the sound deadening that seemed to be holding the stentch of dog piss from the previous workshop. this was the result... i also purchased some alloy cleaner for the cross-member and engine bay. gave it a quick test and it should come up perfectly Spent a few more hours getting the car ready to send to Sydney for attempt number 2
  16. and the photos of the toilet... Getting extended wheel studs installed as CCW put a 20mm spacer on the back to keep the wheels off the coilover... car escapes gaol... the wheels arrive... the fun begins... its close... so chunky you could carve it.. 10" fronts look ano... As you can see the wheels aren’t a perfect fit. Oh well bigger issues then wheels atm! The car now starting to look like it has been worked on...shame its taken 12 months!! Some new 4pot and 2pot brakes arrive
  17. Parts starting to arrive from Dusty @ MVP... Coming up to a year of nothing... Still no progress...
  18. I was originally looking to go lambo yellw. I was then looking at this colour (thank god i woke up) The front is now lined up. the side skirts will be moulded next week and then sanding should begin (i hope) here you can see the modifications required to the side skirts. New dash cluster arrived. Dodgy and lazy panel beater not wanting to spend the extra time to get the kit 100%...so he moulds it up... Sad looking engine bay The first turbo kit i bought which ended up on another local club members car...
  19. haha no worries mate. give me about 30 min and ill have this up to its most recent point and hopefully it'll be near completion in a couple months...
  20. So a certain mod keep pestering for me to put together a thread with my TRD supra. so here we go... Looking back at my project as it draws closer to an end I struggle to work out where to begin! On New Year’s Eve 2007 my car was outside in a freak hail storm. Unfortunately due to living in the side of a hill and not having had any rain the area for some time I had to prevent our house from flooding. Whilst the car sat in the drive-way it managed to have a fine layer of small dints all over the side roof and bonnet. It took me until 2008 to look into having it repaired. My insurance company was paying for the respray and hail damaged to be replaced. While this was occurring I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to install a bodykit as an additional cost to the repairer. A local supplier had a TRD wide body kit for sale which I thought would be a perfect addition to the car. I purchased the bodykit and waited for the car to go to the repairer. The repairer was refered to me by people with our local supra club and also became a sponsor of the club. He had experience repairing supras and had also previously painted a TRD wide body. The insurance company approved the repairer so it was now time to organise the car to be dropped off. I dropped the car off but then decided i would pull the motor out so i could do a colour change in the engine bay too. I drove the car home where i invited some mates over and started to pull the motor out. We had everything off to find out the chain on the engine crane was not correct. Not risking damage to the motor or gear box i decided to have the car sent to my mechanic for the last part. In April 2008 i was going overseas for 4 weeks holiday. This seemed to be a good time to have the car at the repairer as it would then only be off the road for a short time after. How wrong was I!!! I was leaving on the Sunday morning and the car was being delivered to the mechanic on the Saturday. It was then having the motor safely removed and then the car was going down a couple streets to the smash repairer. After 4 enjoyable weeks away i returned to, well...nothing. The repairer had not even touched the car. Complaining that he was busy etc etc and that he would have the body kit test fitted within a few days. Giving him the benefit of the doubt i said id return the following weekend. After another week there was still no sign of any activity. Another week goes by and i decide to help pull the part of the interior out the speed things up. Finally 3 weeks after i return the test fit is completed. With only a couple issues everything seems ok. Happy days now it just needs to be stuck on, prepped and painted. Maybe a month or so i should have it back....wrong again! Weeks go by followed by months. A little bit of work here and there but no real progress. As you can imagine this is really start to frustrate me. Whilst i want the car completed i don’t want a rushed job which when it turns out badly would end up being my fault for hurrying them. I enquire to the insurance company to see if they can speed things up. Same reason as above the say they can’t. Another couple months go by and I’m wondering why someone would take so long as they have not been paid for the job yet...surely it is costing them a lot more money taking space in the shop. I start enquiring to have car removed as its now just ridiculous. While over the phone the insurance company seems happy to remove the car, when i ask for it in writing its another story. More time goes by and still no progress. Its been broken promises again and again. This time i push harder for the car to be removed. Whilst talking to the insurance company i found out that they had actually paid the repairer while i was overseas. When i asked where i was the form i signed to say i was happy with the work they said they couldn’t find it. They gave me the date i supposedly agreed which just so happened to be whilst i was overseas and did not have global roaming on...how could they call me? I threatened legal action for fraud as i had not signed anything and if my signature was on anything copies would be going to police. This is where it got really bad. The insurance company then started to go against what i wanted and blamed the additional work for the problems. Yes they had found their scape-goat. Hundreds of emails later i finally had their internal ombudsman reviewing the matter. After taking nearly 2 months to send through the letter (legally it must be to me in wirting within 15 days,) it was agreed to have the car sent to another repairer. The car was off to Sydney, three hours from me to have the final prep work completed and the car painted. I was then offered a small cash settlement which i still a matter with the lawyers. Whilst the car sat in the first repairers shop. He’s pets were not only sleeping inside the car but also urinating and chewing on some parts. I have since removed the factory sound deadening and scrubbed the floor. I am also installing dynamat throughout the whole car so the smell is 100% gone. Many other items have been lost, damaged or destroyed. Most of these parts are only visible as the car is now slowly put back together. Now since the motor has been removed the car i might as well go single turbo. I originally looked at a gt42r but thought it might be too big. I decided to order a smaller single T04z. However since the car has taken so long to complete i have since gone back to wanting the 42r as i want something that could go further once i build the motor. So thats the brief story of my hell for the last 2 years. I will have all the pictures up shortly. In the mean time feel free to check out my thread on the Australian forum (http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/...ad.php?t=41710) Many thanks must go to Dusty and the boys at MVP. I think Dusty has had to deal with 100s of emails for possible parts and different orders. Also to everyone back home who has dealt with my mod swings over this hunk of junk! Fingers crossed it will be ready before Christmas this year...I’m not holding my breath! Sorry for the bad quality of most pictures. A lot have been taken via phone cameras. Here are pictures of the car in the beginning. At this point the car had the following modifications: 3" exhaust with blitz nur spec muffler and custom dump full alpine and rockford stereo hybrid front mount k&n pod HKS SSQV BOV 20" zenetti kaotic wheels HKS Hypermax III coilovers Carbing front and rear strut braces last dyno made 248.4rwkw @13.5psi (dyno dynamic) Here is the kit when i purchased it many moons ago... The car off to the repairer (first time) Then the car was back to remove the motor (didn’t really get many pics) The car still with no work even started... Still nothing Test fit...finally! Back to the old ways of no progress.. more pics to come....
  21. im tyring to get someone in the ACT to give me a ride in their r34 gtr. I want to know what they're like before i get rid of a supra with a massive gt42r on its side haha as it stands the 42 is the best thing ive been in. the whistle turns heads everywhere..obviously not all for the right reason
  22. hey mate, send me an email to [email protected] and we can discuss. thanks, nathan
  23. This car here is the reason why I want to get rid of TRD wide body supra with 600hp and buy a gtr! Your attention to detail is amazin. I love the awesome power with such a stock looking engine bay! How are you going with the videos of this thing on the road? I'd love to know how quite this car is. My 4" with HKS ti muffler sounds like a jet engine on idle so i'd love to see power with a low db exhaust!! Keep up the work sir!
  24. gosh darn it! I have asked reece...ill keep chasing him haha
  25. so no 34 gtr owners want to take me for a spin!!!
