  1. spotted a bayside vspec blowing flames near DFO last Friday! Also spotted another 600hp supra back on the road
  2. PTU stands for police tactical unit...a similar version as swat in the US but not as gun blazing commando type thats portrayed in movies. they're the guys in "pyjama" uniforms
  3. there are a couple of regulars on here who know who i am and know where i get information from. to give you a hint i have a family member who is a high ranking AFP officer another in PTU and close mates in unifrom. whilst i realise some of you get targeted pretty badly for petty issues like exhaust and height it does create some poor stories. yes protective service/ AFP wont bother most of the time to pull you up however they are still linked to uniforms and will have no issue putting your plates over the radio. just remember a lot of police are car and bike nuts and a lot are in with some clubs. Now at the end of the day wouldnt you raterh see more police on the roads then stupid cameras that have no discretion....
  4. where do you guys get this information? the amount of misinformed generalised comments here is just ridiculous! I suggest that if you dont know what your talking about dont speak. most of the idiotic rumours about cars, roads and police are due to forums and clubs spreading stories from a mates mates mate.
  5. spotted a very good looking girl driving off in here black 33 gtst in phillip today
  6. the only thing you will gain from a screamer pipe is a shit load of noise and defects if cops hear you on boost. the don't restrict the exhaust and if they do we're talking about 1hp or less. Many supra's with big singles still run it plumbed in. Not worth the defect!
  7. lol another post of mine has been deleted
  8. take it to sydney canberra is a joke! i can recommend a place that will charge a fortune, leave your car for over a year and not do any work...but thats most places in canberra i guess
  9. take her to ESP and get her on all 4's
  10. wat with your pidly little 310kws? LOL wait until you can spin the wheels at 150km/h princess!
  11. greg at Hume Bodyworks is a nice bloke. I haven't had a car in there before but i was getting some help regarding the never ending issue of my car a few months ago.
  12. check out the stuart flats in manuka (the gov'y flats across from the maccas drive through entrence). thats where a supra was recently recovered after being stolen. if its the same mob they live near there
  13. I had my old custom 3" done by roadway in belco. great guys and good price. Ive also heard the exhaust shop is pretty good too. Now ive got my HKS ti 4"
  14. yes but your not talking about front and rear bar and side skirts. Give SmashTech in sydney a call. I can bet you any money that they will be cheaper then anyone in canberra and provide a much higher quality finished product.
  15. Haha mate you are kidding yourself if you think adding a fiber-glass wide body will simply stick to your existing metal guards. If someone has offered you 3k to fit the kit and ready for paint then take it. But dont be suprised when it hasn't been baked correctly or has even been installed correctly. Installing the kit and having it ready for paint is 90% of the work painting is nothing when looking at a wide body. I've had my Supra in a work shop for 13 months getting this done (TRD wide body) and it has been the most painful experience of my life. I'm now having the car removed from the workshop and sent to Sydney. I would not recomend anyone in canberra...period. Don't forget you'll need to cut your exisnting metal guards out so you can utilise the wider guard with larger rims. If you want an honest estimate based on experience you'll be looking at over 5k and that would be cheap. Mine including kit, fitting, paint, new wheels is over the 20k mark
  16. Guys stop adding to the already ridiculous amount of rumours regarding speed vans, cameras and police etc. I doesnt matter what colour your number plate is. If it is legal and from the shopfront it is reflective. If you have fakes then i laugh when you get pulled over for being so stupid. With regards to the Vans. You need to be within 100m and generally around the 75m mark is where most get their picture. The van can take a clear picture of you from over 1km away however the photo and correct speed need to be taken at the same time. If you want to know how i know...lets just say i have a lot of police in my family
