Hi guys, Basically i've been running this Jensen VM9512 which was running in my mates car for over a year and not had any problems. I ended up buying it off him and had it in my car for nearly half a year. It has been an amazing headunit but for some reason the screen has decided to stop lighting up. The touch works and the unit functions work but the back screen doesnt light up. I'm not very good with working with electronics and wondering is anyone prepared to have a look at it. I'm prepared to pay for someone to have a look at it/repair it and drop it off to you. I was talking to my mates aunty at cartoys and she reckons it could be something small because the actual touch is working. Hi, I was meaning to do an R33 non turbo speeod conversion to a turbo one Mainly due to the lower km's my car has I ended up buying one and tried putting it in yesterday All went well but didnt get a chance to drive it Today i took it for a drive but to my surprise the speedo was out of wack It was showing roughly double the speed on the speedo than what i was going my fuel, rpm, oil temp etc were all fine but the speed is out Would this be caused by the speed sender on my gearbox being different to a turbo one?? How could it be a huge amount out? Aren't the speedo's the same? i also bought a series 1 dash which is the same as my car cheers

Hey guys, I'm on the last stages of legalising my car and i finally received the boost solenoid in the mail today. But i'm mixed up with installing it. I've attached a photo of it, it is visible that the black cable has been cut but im not 100% sure what they have done. It is just loose and a blue cable has been connected to it with a grounding piece at the end. Also what do i need to connected the two pipes to? Cheers

I will firstly try out the spark plugs and then silicon up the coil packs should fix it if it doesnt i will clean out the AFM & pod and see how that runs if all fails does anyone have any other possible problems that may be causing it?

I'm using NGK Iridium BPR5EIX. Which I'm pretty sure is a 1.1mm gap. But what i dont get is that it shouldnt change what the engine was previously doing? all that was done was a rocket cover gasket change? My guess is th at it is the coil packs that are the problem. Do you guys recommend the industry grade silicon in fixing the problem? So that it doesn't pollute and go everywhere. cheers for the help guys

Hi guys, I was driving around for a fair while with a few leaks within the gasket and power steering hose. So this week i got everything fixed up mechanically. Whilst they were checking out the car they noticed my fuel tank was leaking and the seal had somehow moved to within my tank. So petrol was leaking from my car (Which explained my complaints about fuel usage). Anyway they had repaired everything and i finally got it back yesterday. I noticed whilst i was driving when i went to accelearate in a higher gear it would hold back and jolt slowly into acceleration. It was like there wasnt enough fuel being released and a leakage had occured. I also droved it last nite and noticed it had gone worse. I brought it back there this morning and the mechanic was a nice guy and took it for a drive. He was speeding most the way and hadnt noticed any jolting. Now when i drive it i slightly notice this jolt but only in higher gears (3 & 4). He had said it may be a missifing problem and my spark plugs may be old/not close enough. But i was driving around with these new spark plugs (2 months old) without any problems. Do you guys reckon theres more behind it and may be a fuel problem? or may i need to get new coil packs or tape my standard ones up? Thankyou

i knew it because my mate's skyline has the same thing aswell.. does anyone know/confirm if this can be defected for? and what its meant to be connected to? cheers for the help yeah thankgod i didnt get defected or fined for it.. ye exactly i know thats my fault for the canister and solenoid but the other things were a tad over the top. cheers for the help you reckon? the engine wasnt installed so it would run high boost. it was installed on a standard setup. but im guessing it shouldnt matter if i connect it back up cheers for the help yeah he was from the hoon task force.. he knew his stuff but picked on things which weren't necessary/needed to be connected. but he also picked up stuff which he needed to. in the end he was just doing his job guess Do you guys reckon i should go to a mechanic and get in writing the plug off the fuse box isn't a necessary/needed feature within the car and get him to attach a number to confirm this? cheers for all of your help!

Nah i got my P's before the new law came in. The $700 was for the emissions to the earth due to not having the carbon canister hooked up to 2 exposed connectors ok so will it affect my engine if i connected it? also due to it being an ABS hose and i dont have ABS does it still mean i could get defected for it in the future? yeah i probably will do that tomorrow so it doesnt stand out cheers for the help appreciate it alot exactly right ok so does this need to be connected? Is it a future defect? cheers appreciate your help

Hi guys, got car checked tonight at BP Newton whilst filling up the officer was a decent guy he mostly had a look at the engine and found a few little things which needed to be fixed up the fine was $700 but he let me off with a warning and guaranteed me that we would meet again one was my old non turbo canister hadnt hooked up to the new turbo engine emissions hoses and two were still unexposed he said it was polluting the emissions into the environment he also found these 3 things within my engine bay which i have no clue to why/what is wrong with them do any of you guys know why the lead off the fuse box isnt connected up? also why that lead has a screw also cable tie in the end and my pod was bolted down but he said it was a mod? do i need a heat shield box? also he pointed out i need a stock boost solenoid/controller within my engine bay and brought to my attention the problem with my shit fuel economy is due to not having one! is that correct? cheers

Hey guys at the moment i like my rims but due to going through Regency soon i will need to raise my car to stock.. I was wondering after going to Regency i wanted to get more of an offset look but i dont have enough cash to buy new rims i was having a look at some hubcentric ones but it seems you need to chop down your studs to install them would it be possible for me to buy 30mm ones and they should allow enough room for me not to cut them down? also are hubcentric safer than standard ones? cheers

i ended up doing this today and got them out all went well not leaking butt the brakes feel shit now and are very soft ive been pumping it for a while now and its still doing nothing ive filled up the brake fluid etc.

just need a front pair of r33 standard/stock brake lines with the olive clip/bolt on the end (Turbo one) need ASAP cheers

yes everything your saying now makes sense i checked it and its is a banjo bolt i actually remember it had a piece of metal with a simple fitment on the turbo brake when i got it so what does removing the olive require? cheers guys appreciate all the help

i did the 2 nuts up tight i live in kensington park around a 2 minute drive from the parade cheers for the advice i actually noticed while doing it that the hit had a hole hollowed through it and the nipple had a parrallel hole in it which delivered the fluid.. i was thinking do you reckon they need to be alligned?
