  1. Hi all well after nearly 25 years the father in law more or less handed the mark skaife / jim richards delivered R32 back to the yard he bought it from for nothing by passing all the kids. nice guy!!! check the usual sites for a skyline R32 gtr in qld. red. its one of the first 5 in australia. 4 unhappy children.
  2. I'll find out about boost. Exhaust was replaced 12 months ago. His mate owns a muffler shop and imported an r32. He wanted to copy the father in laws system in return for a free 3" system. Turns out the 2 vehicles were very different underneath. New turbo's. Can't see it. Car still gets serviced by the same nissan dealer that sold it to him and is bog stock except for new exhaust. The other car is a 2005 A6 3.0L tdi twin turbo - more the daily drive. 165kw and 450nm which I'm trying to talk them into chipping - 200kw and 550nm with better fuel economy. He's a big lad and after trading the HK gts for a gtho III for a walkinshaw he grabbed the skyline. couldn't fit in a ferrari and he'd done his research and wanted the gtr. At 68 and after driving it for near 20 years he still loves it. Should have kept quiet and may have been an even match in the forester. not now. Thanks again.
  3. Thanks so much. tab was in. was. father in law is a mucho happy man. he said it felt like he'd been driving with the choke on. the car is much smoother and more responsive now.
  4. I guess there is one way to tell. If it does 0-100 in 4.7 seconds and a 12.8 quarter then the tab has been removed. Love a picture. Anyone from nissan australia?
  5. well we've finally sorted out that the father in laws gtr is No.5 of the original 100 delivered to australia. I've read that there is a yellow restrictor tab in the control lines that can be removed for more power. He hasn't done this himself and it was delivered new to him. He's not sure whether nissan oz may have done it. Can anyone point out where this tab is supposed to be if it's still in place please? Cheers Michael
  6. it's definately the real deal. he has the pics of him mark skaife and jim richards together taking delivery with a signed picture. a mate of his owns an exhaust shop and bought an import recently and wanted to copy the exhaust from my father in laws car. on the hoist the 2 cars were very different underneath. I'm keen to hear back on the vin info now. cheers.
  7. two brake lights and yes to badge.
  8. firstly thanks for the help. he's off 2 c star trek at the mo so I'll give him a call when he gets back and fine out. hopefully these pics can help in the interim don't know if the pics posted or not. seemed to take an eternity to load???? not sure I did it right.
  9. original import r32 6F4KBNR32A0016087 hope somebody can help. cheers
  10. I'm actually a forester driver but my father in law (not internet savvy) is curious about info on his original import r32 so here I am. Hopefully you guys can help him out. He has the first one delivered in qld and given an in car demo by jim richards. We are trying to get the exact model sorted. It's not one of the grey ones and we can't figure out if it's got the n1 engine? It always been serviced by the original nissan dealer that sold it to him and even they can't come up with what number it is of the original 100 imported - but are still trying. Any help in identifying exact model would be greatly appreciated. cheers
