Drony and uncomfortable to listen to while cruising. Just want the good old stock.

Alright I'll do that. Just wondering where the heck i can hoist it since most workshops would wanna charge to service the car first . lol Thanks a million for the input man, much appreciated.

Not too sure since I replaced the fluid pretty much straight away after i got the car. I was advised by some members here that Castrol Transmax Z is a good substitute for D Matic and went ahead with it. I'm pretty sure the sound is coming from the gearbox since it only makes the noise when i step on the accel and sometimes when changing gears. It's not too loud but It's there. More of a "klack klack klack klack" sound then CRUNCH! It sounds like the noise a manual gearbox would make when trying to take off at the 3rd or 4th gear. So hard to explain ... Is there anything else down there that can make that sort of noise? Maybe Torque Converter or something? Definitely crossed out exhaust rattle and such.

Hey Guys If anyone has a stock muffler for 250GT sedan I'll happily swap it with my Fujitsubo one Perth only Cheers

Hi Guys Would usually post in the V35 section but since my gearbox is pretty much identical to some stageas, i thought I'd try here. Basically box itself runs fine. But i hear this crunching noise coming from it that only happens for about 1 second every time I step on the gas pedal to accelerate. It doesn't really affect the car so much but the noise is there and it's worrying me. Fluid recently replaced with Castrol Transmax Z. Has anyone got any thoughts on this?

V35 Gt8 Sedan Manual Conversion + Introduction
dodes47 replied to padlock's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
To be able to scan the transmission, you need to get it scanned in a workshop that owns a good scantool. Doesn't necessarily have to be a nissan dealer. Consult and Carman are ones that would definitely work. Basically you scan the TCU (Transmission Control Unit) and see what it has to say for itself. If something is wrong, It'll definitely chuck a code at you which you can use to aid in your quest to repair the tranny. Mwahaha -
Hey Any chance of having this installed for the 250GT? Not too sure on the model of the gearbox, one thing's for sure, it's a 4sp not 5. Whereabouts are you anyway?

Abs Speed Sensor Vdc Abs Slip
dodes47 replied to 180 wanabe's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hey Sorry to hear about your woes mate. Ifeel ya I had a similar problem with my car when i first got it. When i scanned it, it reports that the wheel speed sensors are faulty. Had a mechanic look at them and turned out it was just loose and dirty. So give it a clean when you can then see how you go. Maybe the replacement sensors themselves are no good? Get the part number and post it here so i can help you look up prices. Also, if it still happens afterwards, try to swap the sensors around from left to right to troubleshoot it. -
V35 Gt8 Sedan Manual Conversion + Introduction
dodes47 replied to padlock's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hey Mate I know you're pretty set on the manual conversion. But are you sure the tranny's issue is mechanical? I own one myself and i can tell you that I've been through hell and back because of the tranny issues. Spent hundreds trying to figure it out and turned out it was only a faulty speed sensor which cause the gears to f*k up . Tried to plug in a scan tool yet? Like i said, I know you're gonna go with the conversion anyway, but if i were you I'd want to find out what's really wrong with it before decide to convert it. Another good reason is that you might be able to sell off the CVT tranny once you convert it for a decent price instead of scrapping it. -
Recommended V36 Servicing In Perth?
dodes47 replied to WA-CVK's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Tokyo Motorshop AKA Autoworkshop at Welshpool or Fabcar at Cannington. Can't go wrong with either. -
Please tell me you're kidding. 5K??? Was it a write off or something? Tell us the story behind the bargain .

Exactly the same problem with me ages ago... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/285721-what-is-this-plug-for/page__p__4797060__hl__climate+control__fromsearch__1#entry4797060 Look at the first pic, There should be a white plug that goes in the pin. If it's missing, it may have been accidentally removed during compliance or something, ouch..

Flat Battery On Ongoing Issues
dodes47 replied to acebi's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hmm, i thought that changing the original battery is a part of compliance? Could be wrong though. I don't know much about this but if i were you i'd try to reset the ecu ( hopefuly resets the bcm) and see what happens. Then again having the battery flat could have reset it already... Have you got an aftermarket immobiliser/alarm system fitted? -
Hey that just might work! http://g35driver.com/forums/lounge-off-topic/381164-gl1-vehicle-diagnostic-tool-iphone.html But what i really want is a scanner that can read all the computers in the car. ECU,TCU,ABS,BCM everythiiing So far only Carman can do that (apart from Consult ofcourse..) I had a chance to try out the beta version of Nissan Datascan on my GT-8 and it could read everything except for my TCM aaarrggh For example, it could lock/unlock doors, turn off chime, lights etc. Lots of fun. Just don't play around with it too much, it might set off your airbag

The Consult II will definitely read your car. Another brand that works is Carman. If you wanna buy an affordable one for home just to read codes and reset them, my advice is get the BlaztII obd reader. It's about $100 - $120 delivered from NZ. I got one at home and has never let me down. Try not to stress man, as long as the car isn't doing anything funny the code is probably minor

Remote Key Working Distance
dodes47 replied to dodes47's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Nah Chris. Only maybe the immobiliser itself? It's a separate remote control and that works a treat. You think this may be causing an interference? -

Remote Key Working Distance
dodes47 replied to dodes47's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Lol. Just tried it. Same thing still. It's annoying to walk away from your car and have to take steps back while pressing the key hoping it would lock it. Not to mention weird lol. Anyone else got any clues? Maybe the actual receiver in the car is on it's way out. Come to think of it, my immobiliser remote works from far away. -
Hey guys Noticed something with my 250GT Just wondering if it's normal for my remote keys to lock/unlock the car only within a meter of the car. I tried fresh batteries even the foil trick doesn't seem to help. Yet in my 350 GT i can use it from 10 Meters away. I've got two of these keys and both are doing the same thing.
