  1. Ummm..On second thought, i wouldn't want to buy a product from a company that can't spell "Grounding" Probably a counterfeit..
  2. Yeah i know! For shame.. Ok then, i can't really be bothered crimping my own, so you think this is an alright buy? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FREE-SHIP-NEW-HKS-GROUNDING-WIRE-KIT-UNIVERSAL-/220798135918?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item3368982e6e
  3. Sweet. Got a link? I tried looking in the classifieds section and found only old posts. Where did you get the wires from? And how much AWG? Cheers
  4. Hey where did you buy it from?
  5. Ok, then the shift kit probably isn't what i'm looking for. Thanks for that! I've heard good reviews on the grounding kits though. It makes sense in a way that after a while, the stock grounding wires just doesn't perform as well anymore. Some people swear by the changes felt after installing a kit, placebo?
  6. Hey Guys I was wondering if they're a good investment and will help with the slow and sometimes rough shifting in early models V35s especially the 250GTs. Came across these on eBay : Grounding Kit http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FREE-SHIP-NEW-HKS-GROUNDING-WIRE-KIT-UNIVERSAL-/220798135918?pt=Car_Audio_Video&hash=item3368982e6e Shift Kit http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TRANSGO-RE4F04B-HD2-HP-HD-SHIFT-KIT-NISSAN-INFINITY-/8035261005?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1def05a4d What do you think?
  7. Done servicing with all castrol oils. Runs really, really smooth now. Improved shifting as well due to the new fluid in the gearbox. But the damn ticking is still there. They said it's normal. i might try the injector cleaner this week and see if it does anything. If it doesn't i'll look into the timing chain.
  8. Thanks for your help earlier Chris it's working now. Will post some pics soon
  9. Well hellooo amp. Found one sitting in the rear shelf just like you said. It's a clarion with a video in and a round 5-pin connector.
  10. Hey Chris Yes. Positive that it's a non Bose. It comes with stock clarion HU. Thanks for the assist. I'll give it another go today...in the daytime...maybe that'll help. hehe
  11. Hey Guys I got around to start the installation of a new HU in my 02 250GT Non-Bose. The car has a factory Clarion unit. I managed to find the correct wiring from the original harness and hooked it up to the jvc deck. Turns on good but no sound at all on the speakers Spent hours double checking my work and it seems good. The only thing i can think of is that there's an amp somewhere giving the speakers power and it's not switched on hence no sound coming out from the speakers. I thought only the premium models with Bose comes with amplifiers. Can anyone confirm this?
  12. 45,000....or so it says.. Its just finished being serviced. Will find out soon if it's really the injectors.
  13. Awesome. Thanks for that. I think it's too late to use the fuel system cleaner now, service is due tomorrow. The ticking is so annoying! It's either the fuel injectors or a bad lifter. We'll find out tomorrow i guess. Cheers
  14. Hey guys. I know this has been covered many times, but i could not find a directly related info for 250GTs. So i apologise Planning to take it in for a full service tomorrow. Just need to know what sort of engine oil is best for the VQ25DD. Also, if i wanted to do a transmission flush, which brand/type would be best? I've got some pretty loud ticking noise coming from the engine which i'm sure is coming from the fuel injectors. Any tips on how to fix these? A clean or replacement? Thanks in advance
  15. Yep done that, battery size is CR1620 just in case anyone needs to know. Cheers
  16. Hi Guys ! I've upgraded the PC in my car and decided to sell the old one. This has been pulled out from a Nissan Skyline V35. Comes with everything you need to get started on a car pc. The reason why i used a laptop instead of a proper car pc enclosure is because it was convenient and removable anytime i need to. This comes with a genuine and licensed Centrafuse 3.5 front-end which allows you to play music, videos, use gps, and bluetooth audio streaming/make receive calls. It also allows you to tap in to the car's ecu to display realtime stats of your car * (a compatible usb scantool is needed). This set-up will allow you to do pretty much everything a desktop can do, except playing hard-core games of course.. Also, it comes with a Creative SB x-Fi 5.1 Sound card for that extra audio quality. Some people will say, "what the heck will you need a computer in a car for?" : Well i can tell you that once you have a pc set up in your car, all other systems will feel primitive lol. This system is for car-pc enthusiasts only. All you need is the knowledge to install a new deck in your car and a bit of electrical knowledge and you're ready to go! Here's what it comes with. 1x ASUS eeepc 901 - With wall charger/car charger - 3 Years Old 1x Lilliput eby701 double din touch screen - With all cables necessary to operate and remote control - 2 months old Still under warranty. 1x Gosget sirfIII USB gps 1x Sb x-fi Go! Local pickup is preferred but will post Australia wide insured and registered for $20 Flat. If you need to ask anything shoot me a message and I'll answer it asap.
  17. What's the battery size again? I'm shopping atm.
  18. Perfect timing mate. Might have a stereo job for ya. I'll be in touch. \
  19. Thanks guys, more confident in buying now! Couple of things ; 1. Is it possible to remove the plastic guard off the windows? I kinda like the car without it. 2. I'm planning to install a double din mp3/cd etc on it but would be nice if i can use the factory screen for video input off my iPhone. Anyone can point me to a diy?
  20. It does look similar ay?Maybe mine is a little darker, i don't know..i'm colour stupid anyways. I'll check the paint code tomorrow and post it here. More pics to compare beneath Coming from you, that's really awesome to hear It comes with all the docs and certificate. Owner manual and service books are also included. Still considering it but i'm leaning more towards buying it now. Heres more pics of the car minus the deep dish rims. Scroll down to the last 2 pics cause there's a couple of things i've never seen before in a v35. I was hoping you guys can tell me what they are. What's this?? It looks like a card reader. This thing in the engine bay i've never seen before too in my 350 GT. What the heck is it? Cheers Guys
  21. I'll double check the colour code as soon as i get the chance. I was a little skeptical about the kms too. But everything is so well taken care of. The engine is spotless and the interior and bottom of the car too. Not too many options here in WA. Much of these cars resides in the eastern states. I already checked out 4 other cars. Two of them are 6MTs. They either have money owing on them or ridiculous asking price and not willing to budge on it. But none of them, none, came close to the pristine condition of this 250GT. Btw, the car came with a japanese inpection report stating original mileage and full service history of the car. I'm a little skeptical on these as well. Are these documents a common paper accompanying an imported car? EDIT: I just found out that it's actually a 250 GTm! I heard these only have a 4 speed tranny, are they any good? I can still cancel the deal, give me your opinion guys!
  22. One other thing. This car, when it was complied, actually came with a 17" stock rims and tyres. The seller had two of the same model cars. He then sold the other car with the original tyres that came with the car i'm getting. So i'm left with the 18" deep dish rims. I hope they don't make a fuss about it cause i don't know where i can find the original set of tyres and rims. Thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback.
  23. Thanks for that! Any ideas how much it's going to cost for all of it? From the pits to a 12 months rego? cheers
  24. Hi Guys! I'm about to purchase a privately imported V35 at a good deal sometime next week. Vehicle has been complied and the only thing left is to register it. I've never been to the pits before so I'm a little nervous . I saw this thread which has some useful info : http://www.skylinesa...st-help-needed/ but would appreciate any more advice i can get. The car is pretty much standard except for the exhaust and suspension. It's got a Fujitsubo and s-tune when it was complied and passed. I plan on taking it to Welshpool cause i heard good things about the centre. Here's a link to the carsales ad : http://www.carsales....t=250gt&trecs=2 Appreciate any suggestions or advice. Thanks in advance.
  25. ?? What happened to the edit button ?? A few other details i forgot to mention : * 44,000 Km on the clock * Double din ready (yay!) The agreed price is actually $13,500. He knocked out an extra grand for the licensing and examinations. The colour is...different..but my missus seems to take real liking to it As soon as i get the car, my plan is to take the window guard off and possibly the spoiler. Since i have to take it in the pits, do you guys think they'll make a big deal out of the current rims? It passed compliance so i think there shouldn't be a problem there, no?
