  1. So not so long ago, i posted a thread about my gt-8's transmission going bad..at least i thought it was the tranny.. The problem went away after an ecu reset and a pedal position relearn. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/We...-8+transmission Just last night the same thing happened again. I was cruising down the freeway doing 100km/h then the it felt like the car's power is cutting out jerking forward and back. Pulled over, did an ecu reset and off i went again with no problems whatsoever after that. One thing i noticed though is that whenever i release the accelerator pedal and put the tranny on manual mode, the car would always jump to the third gear. It doesn't matter whether i'm doing 100 or 60 km/h. But if i keep my foot on the pedal when i change the mode it goes to the appropriate gear according to the speed the car's doing. I've got a feeling that's it's a sensor issue. It's as if the tranny doesn't know how much speed the car is doing when you let go of the accelerator. But which sensor needs checking? How much would they cost to repair?
  2. omg, i can't believe how clean they are! Next stop, supacheap auto
  3. I wish i could. Hardly go out at night so the halogens will have to do for now.
  4. Hey guys One of my low beam bulb died. So after doing some "research" i came to a conclusion that my car has a D2R HID. Bought a pair from Dan and it turned out that my car actually has a normal halogen bulb for the low beam Must've been the compliance ~sigh~ Went to Repco and got one for $10! Feel like an idiot. Anyways,my D2R set is pretty much useless and now for sale. Purchased for $65 For sale for $55 delivered. This bulb is Tai Chang branded, 6000K rating and brand new. Quality is awesome and and i've heard it may outlast Phillips ones. Edit : Picture will follow. At work atm.
  5. Awesomest! Beats having the sub flying around in the back as you make a turn . I saw a similar box on ebay usa but the postage killed my interest. Although i think i asked an aussie seller on eBay once and he can make a custom sub enclosure for v35 for a decent price if we can get a group buy going. I'll double check and let you guys know.
  6. btw, it's Dan not Andrew. My bad.
  7. Ouch, bro. Looks like what happened to me last year. Yours is a bit worse though. Costed me close to $500 to fix At least the guy was responsible enough to leave a card. Not much of em around nowadays
  8. Here's my post last week on that http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/V3...lb-t322742.html Plenty of places to choose from. Anyways, i got mine from Andrew (666DAN) for $65 shipped express. PM him and see how it goes
  9. Will replacing the climate control board fix it? If it does i might have one for sale. Taken off a 2003 V35 GT-8.
  10. Gee thanks for the warning. Glad i haven't done it yet. And thanks for the link. I think i'll give it a go.
  11. Nice car with a good price. Goodluck with the sale!
  12. I think i'd rather remove the front bumper since i think the wheel guard method involves jacking up the car and taking off the wheel for easier access. Thanks for the feedbacks
  13. Hang on a minute, i forgot to ask The bulb that died is the low beam, so would that make it a D2S or a D2R? Oh and all the links you guys gave pointed to HID ones. I don't really understand the difference between HID and Xenons. Can someone enlighten me?
  14. Thanks Guys. Will definitely check them out
  15. Hey Guys One of my headlight (standard xenon) just blew last night. I've already looked up on how to change it, but i need to know what sort of replacement bulb i should buy. Can it be bought from repco/supercheap auto, or is it something i'm going to have to spend a fortune on? Cheers Doddy
  16. So, to be able to see them, is it a matter of hardware or software/firmware update?
  17. I too have tried the ones on eBay with no luck. It seems that the only cable supporting our car is the BlaZt II : http://www.blazt.biz/information/cars.php has anyone tried and confirmed this? G33K perhaps?
  18. Hey mate, welcome. As far as i know, only the Skyline GT-8 uses that transmission oil (KLE51-00004) no other skyline variants use it. I don't know much about 250 GTs, maybe someone else can help you out with it. But a general rule of thumb i usually follow is that never to trust the odo. Service everything including tranny oil, engine and anything else as soon as you get the car. Goodluck
  19. Sweet. Only problem is that i'm in Perth Anyways, the cheapest quote i got is $650 from a warehouse in perth. I'm still saving up the cash for that. PS: Is there any way to check the oil level on a GT-8? Like a dipstick or something? I got another problem though. The car is running well ever since.Shifting is smooth. The only thing that worries me, is the slight rattle i hear whenever it changes gear from first to second. It's not too loud, i can only hear it when i open my windows and listen to the sound underneath the car. It would then disappear as soon as the car is on normal speed. I was able to replicate this by going to manual mode and put the car on high gear then step on the accelerator. It almost sounds like the rattle you would get when driving a manual trying to launch from the 4th gear Is this a sign of impending doom?
  20. Cheers. Where can i get this stuff? Is it premixed already? if not what's the mix ratio?
  21. Hey Guys. What sort of engine coolant is the best for our car? I need to top up mine. Cheers
  22. Thanks for the heads up bro. I'll get in touch with them this tuesday PM sent regarding that near full tin
