  1. +1 for Meguiars. I use the Leather Foam and it conditions the leather and smells sooooooo gooood . Try it
  2. Came across one on ebay US for around AU$700 Delivered. Aren't all g35 parts compatible with our v35s? I'm not sure if i'm allowed to post a link so just do a search on g35 headlight and you'll find it.
  3. Sorry, correct me if i'm wrong. But doesn't the vq35 have a chain belt? Don't they last longer than 100,000 Ks?
  4. Way to go man. Don't get too worried. As long as it drives well and everything feels good, there's nothing else left to do but to enjoy it. It's a good drive isn't it?
  5. Holy Guacamole! I didn't know it was so common! In any case it should be checked out then, just to be safe. Especially if the dealer's known to have done these things before.
  6. Although it's rare it does happen. I think they have to change the whole electronic unit though from another wrecked low km v35. It's more likely if it happened in Japan before it got imported i reckon. You can definately tell the signs from worn out interiors, pedals and the engine to mention a few. My 03 GT-8 only done 31000 when i bought it. A bit suspicious but i got a mechanic to check everything and it seems that the car checks out ok.Also keep in mind that people in Japan don't drive as much as us here, they much prefer public transport. Just my 2 cts.
  7. Thanks man. I love the look too but why is it scraping?? And that's just with me and the wife in the car. Inlaws comin over from sydney soon. Big mummas and papas. Now that'll be a hell of a ride.. lol Btw, that's the correct tyre size 225/45 and 245/45.
  8. Alright, i finally went ahead and lowered it with pedders spring .....i know, i know, lame A guy at Ian Diffens did it. It actually looks nice, and the handling improved by miles. But it's a little too low for my taste. After a couple of weeks, i think it settled even more and i started scraping every now and then. And the Wife Approval Factor is starting to wear off..Not Good. Lesson Learned. I just grabbed myself a set of Unrevised 03 350Z Springs on Ebay for a $100 (Thanks N15mo!). Couldn't find the shocks tho. I understand that the revised spring would be better sincer it's harder, but after riding on these pedders springs, i long for a softer one. I can get the guy to install it for me, but after my experience with him, i think i'd rather go somewhere else. Can anyone recommend a good place in Perth to install it? Edit: Forgot the Pics ( Not much of a photographer..)
  9. Hey Guys Sorry for bumping an ancient thread, but i figured it's better than posting a new one. I'm looking for an intake kit for my v35 sedan. Any recommendation? If anyone is having their old ones for sale let me know, especially if your in Perth. Cheers
  10. ^^And i suppose all this also applies to the GT-8 as well? Or is it a big no no for the ol' extroid transmission?
  11. I'm looking for either the OEM springs with / without struts for 350 Z Also Looking for King Spring for 350 Z 2x REAR:KDRL-49 2x FRONT: KDFL-48 Planning to lower my V35 by an Inch. Preferrably in Perth or willing to post for a reasonable amount. Cheers
  12. Aha! Makes total sense now.. I've been missing out on the climate control for months. Felt like there's a new addition to the car u know? Thanks everyone
  13. After getting a Double Din Kit installed 4 months ago by Autotainment, my ac climate control started acting funny. I couldn't set it to Auto and the jump from 18° and 18.5° is very high. Other words it's either really cold or really hot. I got told it might be the crappy Metra kit AC controller. So i was saving up to get a JDM one from Chris Rogers. This morning i opened the bottom part of the steering wheel to reprogram my Swix-pac and noticed this cable and hose was unplugged. So i plug it back in then tested everything in the car. To my surprise the climate control works again! Unplugged it and it died again. I'm ecstatic that i dont have to get the JDM one after all $500 bucks saved for something else. Thanks anyways Chris What is this bloody cable for? Why is there a hose connected to it? I thought i'd post this just in case anyone is having the same problem.
  14. That's what i would do exactly. Try to offer him a higher deposit and tell him you're serious about purchasing the car. He wants to sell it as bad as you wanna buy it. Ask him to come with you for the inspection. If necessary bring another car and have a beer or two ( The Foundry is just around the corner) while the car is being inspected. It shouldn't take longer than 2 hours. Simple
  15. ++1 I did my 30000 service there and i was juggling between Autoworkshop and Autoworx. Since i work real close to Autoworkshop, i decide to try em out. And boy am i glad i did. Jamie knows his trade that's for sure. For $450 i got a full service, brake clean, handbrake adjustment and four wheel alignment. The car feels so good afterward. Not only that, he spent 20 minutes when i came and picked up the car and literally explained every little detail on the service he did. A customer service hard to find in Auto repair shop nowadays. I'm a very happy customer.... ....<--- Always wanted to use this emoticon
  16. Welcome to Perth! How much is all of this costing you if u dont mind me asking? Say hi to Brian for me. He did my double din and swix pac install.
  17. LoL. If i knew who it was i will. We use a standard Squid Proxy. I block sites on a daily basis eg. Youtube, Porn etc. So if SAU is blocked, i would've known about it. Thanks R31Nismoid, PM sent. Cheers
  18. Hi Guys I'm the IT admin in a College at Perth. I'm wondering why our ip address has been banned from accessing SAU. It can't be blocked internally cause i'm the one responsible for that. The message i get is "Sorry, you are not permitted to use this board" We had some history with spammers harvesting our servers and spoofing our email address back when i wasn't working here yet. I assume that's the problem? A lot of my colleagues and myself are a fan of this site and it'll be nice if we can browse from work How do i get in touch with the site admins? Cheers
  19. Very scary! But i'm willing to risk it considering my car's only done 30000 and the drop is really mild. When the time comes for new shockies, i'll get a decent one. But until then i can just get the king springs since i'm only after a mild drop. I spoke to a mate of a mate over at Ian Diffen today. He said since it's not very low, there's no need to add a camber kit. He's gonna try to find the King Spring for 350z ( Thanks GoldV35 ) first before he gives me a quote, but he says Springs+Fitting+Alignment might cost somewhere around $550. Fair Price? Cheers Everyone
  20. Hey guys I'm thinking of lowering my 03 v35 sedan just to close the gap a bit. I've been told if i only change the springs i'm in for a nasty outcome A mate said i also have to replace the shocks, add a camber kit and do a four wheel alignment. I've read some people use the stock spring from a 350Z, is it just the springs or the shocks as well?? Is this the way to go? I'm open to any suggestions. Cheers
  21. Hi guys This morning i was driving around in heavy rain for a while when i noticed them three lights turn on in my dash And it stayed on. Driving felt normal tho. I then parked and tried restarting the car. That didn't fix it. So i looked around on the net to find a solution. Turns out some people over at the states have the same problem with G35, especially the 03 model. I gathered up some suggestions : - Check brake fluid level ( Mine was barely under the MAX level) - Check Tyre Pressure ( All good ) - Check ABS Fuse ( Haven't checked yet) - Bring the car in for a scan. I thought i'd do the first three myself. Went to a mall , got some fuses and brake fluid. When i started the car everything went back to normal. All lights were off. Drove around for at least 50 km with no problem. I got a service date next week. Hope it's nothing major ( fingers crossed ) I don't get it..Could it be the wet weather causing this? Somehow the sensors are soaked or something.... i dunno..Anyone else experienced this? 2003 350 GT-8 , 31000Km
  22. Ok, been testing the audio for a couple of days. Sounds okay, but the woofer sounds like it's gonna rip anytime soon. Maybe because the amp is 600 watts. I was thinking of changing only the sub to something that can take the amps power a bit better. The thing is, my boot space is precious and i don't wanna put a bass tube or anything like that. IIRC, the stock sub size is 10". So can i just get any sub that size and replace the existing one?
  23. No, not really. It just lacks the haptic feel of the original buttons. Man i should've done my home work first But actually, now that i know the original can cost $1K, i don't think i could afford it anyway! Overrall i'm 80 % Happy with it. The Lcd takes my attention away from the buttons In the future, say if i wanna sell the car, is it possible to install the original dash in with the bose and all? If it's not, would it sell here?
  24. Tell me about it! It's got an annoying feel to it when u push the buttons. hey here's an idea.. How bout instead of getting it from japan parts, can i just swap the buttons from my original fascia?
  25. OK, called Brian, got a quote for $2000. This includes : - Head Unit : JVC AVX810 - Amp : Kenwood 600 Watts - Silver fascia Plate + dual zone AC controller - Swix Steering wheel control adapter - Labour I thought it was a reasonable price since it seems like he knows his way around the V35s. So i went ahead with it. Installed it today, took him 10 hours. While it sounds and looks good, to be honest, i miss the original look . The AC controller looks a bit crappy with grey rubber buttons. It' s missing the bracket around it to make it flush, cause it needs to be trimmed a bit so the unit can open. Here's some pic of it. Whadya guys think?
