  1. I've got TWO tix to WE LOVE SOUNDS tomorrow, but can't make it anymore... no babysitting options plus a uni assignment due on tuesday means I am stuffed. http://www.welovesounds.com.au/ Due to the short timeframe before the event they are available at the bargain price of $75 each, but I will need cash payment (I'm 5km north of CBD). PM me for immediate response. Cheers

  3. Firstly, congratulations! If this is your first don't bother "preparing for your life to change forever", because no amount of preparation will help you with the reality of sleep deprivation that will be unleashed in 7 months! Enjoy! Secondly, as a small business owner I have interviewed many people over the years, and whilst it is illegal to discriminate on the grounds of pregnancy; however it is practically presents a lot of difficulties due to all the above stated reasons, ie sickness, lethargy (yes all too real!) and having to get temps is to cover the maternity leave, training them up just to let them go etc. As a parent I understand why you wouldn't disclose it at this early stage. But be aware that when you do eventually "confess", your employer is likely to feel you were dishonest in the interview - you may lose their trust and it will count against you for your future career prospects within the company. As a footnote, I believe that in South Australia if you have been employed for less than 12 months when you give birth you don't have any statutory right to maternity leave, so the company may be able to terminate your employment rather than give you maternity leave.
  4. I bought my R32 GTR from Sinergy and found them to be pretty good. Rob in particular was best car "salesman" I've met, and spent heaps of time talking about the cars rather than trying to sell me one. One of the other sales guys there was a bit more of a classic salesman though. After-sales service was good too - car had a couple of issues that came out on the track and they sorted them. I would recommend (but haven't had any other import services to compare against). And as for re-spraying every car I can definitely say that is rubbish. Mine had a minor touched-up scratch on the fender which was pointed out pre-sale. Good luck with whatever you do - just realise you won't remember an extra few $$ for long once the boost kicks in, but you will remember whether you got good aftermarket support if anything goes wrong.
  5. similiar thing happened to me 8 years ago - rang bank immediately when I noticed transactions on my VISA through online banking - someone had duped my card and used it in a whole heap of florists ($500+ x 4) surf shops ($250 x 6) and tackle shops down the east coast until they maxed out my limit. Bank refunded it all to me without concern and was very quick. A few months later I had a cop ring me and ask a few questions about where I had used my card to try and trace the crims. It's pretty bloody inconvenient at the time, but rest assured you'll most probably get every cent back, but don't waste your time on detective-work , the bank/police will do that on your behalf.
  6. hillclimbs are another relatively cheap way to have fun. as with supersprints you can choose to spend a lot to get the absolute best time or you can just throw it as-is up the hill as quick as it'll go. Dunno what is around melbourne but I would assume there would be a few like collingrove here in SA. anyway whatever your budget is (ie $1000 or $10,000) you'll probably end up spend all of it and then some more enjoy
  7. Have you heard anything from them? I sent my form and a cheque off months ago for the trackday but haven't heard anything back yet.
  8. Coilovers: SOLD! EDFC: kept for my new GTR Teins arriving soon! S15 16x6.5 Rims and ROH 17x7 Adrenalins still for sale. Open to offers.
  9. sounds like you're already sorted, but my pics are a few pages back in the thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=5176886
  10. 20 minutes of footage (part 2 is up) and I starred for approximately 2 seconds! oh well - good vid anyway, cheers for the upload
  11. full set of bare r32 gtr rims goes for around $600. new RE55s are $400-550 each depending on size. so really, $1100 for the package is good value. I had the same setup on my S15. had to roll the guards to fit but the wheels & tyres were awesome.
  12. nice time! better update your sig! must've been a perfect day - I set new pb almost every session finishing with a 1:21.64, smashing the old 1:23.6.
  13. thanks again for organising the timers and taking up your entire day (and night) to get us a timesheet - very much appreciated! Personally I found the instant good/bad/best lap feedback was awesome - let me link the way I'd taken each corner with the resulting time much better than getting the times after the whole session. What is the brand of the timer? I'm going out to get myself one for future days... Cheers
  14. pics
  15. I had a great day - thanks to all involved in organising it. will post some pics soon.
  16. personally I would like to see the shots before paying $ for them, but will go with whatever the system is.
  17. sounds good.
  18. I can confirm my ecutalk v2 display (and 1.3.x windows software) work fine in my nistune'd R32 GTR. love the new 2.02 firmware with the user-configurable alarms and am gagging for the eventual logging to micro-sd.
  19. So having not met anyone on this list before and only partial info in peoples sigs, what cars are everyone bringing (erm, skylines?) I'll be in my black 1994 R32 GTR running recently installed 2860-7s with the other usual bits and pieces.
  20. mmm snaaaags.
  21. true, but the more you spend on EVERYTHING the better (kinda! ) I will wait and see if anything decent comes up s/h in the next month or so... meanwhile need to get rid of my S15 coils so I can spend more on better things
  22. agreed, hence giving the tyres the benefit of the doubt! I expected much better lap times though and am yet to be satisfied - practice will help Mallala times: R32 GTR, RE001 street tyres, 205rwkw: 1:24.6 R32 GTR, A048 semis, 285rwkw: 1:23.7 Still chasing my S15 PB though (S15, RE55s, 163rwkw, 1:23.05) Hopefully it doesn't rain on Monday so I can put in some good practice times...
  23. sounds awesome! only problem now will be setting some decent times...
  24. Yeah I had RE55s fitted two years ago to my street&track S15 by the previous owner of the same store, no dramas. Without bagging the guy too much, whether he was right about the RE55s or not he proceeded to recommend the RE11 (*not* the RE11S) as a comparable tyre to the RE55 (which it's not) and then said he would definitely help me out to get on the track by the following week, but never rang me back. I needed tyres as my old Re001s were toast, hence the A048s. Totally agree re RE55 legality and CAMS approval, however there seems to be lots of waffle on the interwebs about how they are not legal. Regardless the magill dealer is the sole SA dealer and refused to fit them so didn't have other options other then rocking up with 4 "spare" rims in the boot. Re the A048 performance, when I said I was happy I was being very generous. the only session I've done so far on them I was very disappointed in grip levels (couldn't find any all day), but didn't want to badmouth the tires until I've made sure it's not the way I'm driving on them the pressures I'm running the fact I was also trying to get used to new turbos (going from 205kw to 285kw) After this Monday I should have a better idea. So if you can get RE55s onto your car and you can afford them I would say do it.
