  1. Or enable VCT at idle. My cvt when actuated at idle sounds stupid lumpy.
  2. A resonator? What you want is a Helmholtz chamber, like the Nismo/Fujitsubo cat backs run. You won't find many exhaust shops that know what they are... Easiest way is to fit a Varex muffler on the end, or run an active exhaust valve with a bypass muffler.
  3. Craig has a limp.... Foot. He is in a wheelchair and dribbling from his lip. Last I heard they were about to pull the plug.
  4. Sounds like tune, or the fuel is surging in the tank.
  5. Great news Em. Now bring on the power mods.
  6. It's agonising waiting 3 or 4 months for your baby to come in, but it would be worthwhile seeing Iron Chef will find you a legitimately great one.
  7. It doesn't work that way, the AFM has already measured it.
  8. Just fit 1000cc injectors to another M35 yesterday, NSW had better pick up its skirt, Melbourne is kicking arse with the amount of tuned Stageas on the road.
  9. V35 are all jap to bro. Same car pretty much.
  10. = Fouled. Brake cleaner will clean them up if they aren't covered in too much black crap.
  11. The AFM would need to be after the BOV Ron, otherwise you are right, it would run like crap... Rich as buggery.
  12. First time I have heard any bad feedback Darren, shame you didn't bring it down so I could inspect what was causing it, Were you using the stock airbox? Personally I don't like putting the Z32 in the cooler pipe... Actually, I don't like AFM's at all.
  13. MLS gasket and ARP's in the engine you have now is the best, most obvious option to me. No need for forgies till 400+ imo, as long as you stick to e85. It's just a head gasket, and it probably wouldn't have happened if you had stuck the higher clamp force bolts in at the start... Manufacturers use stretchy bolts as a fuse against bottom end damage imo. If you are bothering to rebuild it, I would probably replace the internals and lean on it harder, but that's me.
  14. You can buy the 33 one so cheap brand new now days, why not just get the correct one?
  15. I haven't fitted a Neo rail to a 33 so I don't know how far out the rail bolts are, but I think it would be fairly easy to fit, seeing the aftermarket rails have room. The lower spacers are only available in kits, but they are so easy to make on a lathe. The spacing for the rail bolts should be easy enough to fix. If a conversion kit was made it wouldn't cost too much in bulk... The early WRX owners have similar issues converting from side feed to top, but a few companies have worked it out and now they sell similar conversion kits to what you RB guys need.
  16. The fuel was on the back of the valve and ran down into the bore when the valve opened. What is so hard to understand that you need to argue about it? I was just telling it how it happened, no need to try and disprove it, I could replicate it on your rb if you had one. Fact was it ran backwards, no amount of moderating will change that fact Marc. And no damage was done to the valve train or starter motor.
  17. The fuel was flowing into the open intake valve of course, then on ignition it would push the engine backwards. Basic physics Marc, believe what you like. (The timing was 180 degrees out to get it to run.) It ran for 30 seconds like this, a few times. Not just a backfire, actually running in reverse, exhaust/fuel flowing out the plenum. Amazing there was no damage done at all.
  18. Impressive. For that price my wholesaler would love to buy 10,000 please. You might want to check if they are made at the Bosch factory again... Or that they aren't factory seconds/knockoffs.
  19. That fault is most likely the BOV return, it gives the AFM a lower voltage for a second on back off if the air flows back up the intake. It took me quite a while to work out the correct angle to return the BOV for my intakes. You can buy a new CAS easily from Amayama, there are knock off ones on Ebay, but I wouldn't recommend them.
  20. Any aftermarket alloy filter housing will replace the stock filter, at that power I would go for a larger fine one, try and find one similar in body size to the stock filter so it clips in the original 34 holder. I bought a 40 micron stainless element Earls one for Gregs 34, fixed all his flow issues and richened the entire map. I suspect the filters are very restricted, as he had just replaced it a few months before. The stock lines and pump holder flow more than enough to max a 460L walbro on e85. (although we did remove the fuel dampener and swapped to a Nismo reg, before we realised the filter was the issue.)
  21. China. Consult 3
  22. Oh haven't things changed. I remember when 250kw was hard to obtain. Now everyone thinks 350 is the norm. You will probably need to rethink your exhaust if you want to push that sort of power.
