  1. Now have Bellroy ads at the top of page, thanks Martin.
  2. Again, back to the o2 sensors... It doesn't matter what the ethanol percentage is between 0 and 10%, the car will run fine so what does it matter? All fuel will have some percentage of ethanol in it, some more than others. How would you know otherwise? It won't matter soon, the minimum will be 10% then slowly get higher as the price of dino fuel goes up. If a car has been designed for 10% ethanol use, then it is fine for more percentage imo, as long as it's tuned for it. Ethanol isn't corrosive in late model cars from my extensive testing, no more than petrol anyway. If you saw how clean my engine internals were when I pulled it down, you would be fapping too.
  3. These cars are leaving Japan, no-one will be doing them up nowdays. All the parts are becoming discontinued. I would be plasticoating the lights off the car personally.
  4. You are on your own with that wiring, hopefully you don't have issues. Let us know how you go. I don't see what's so hard about flicking a switch once a month though... You should be impressed stalling it up, but it is rarely noticeable on the stock turbo while driving. Once you go highflow turbo it's a requirement imo. Just make sure you find the engine ECU, not the trans ecu in the kick panel.
  5. Ok mate, it's nearly time I bought a new one myself, this one has done a lot of work.
  6. Agreed, if people didn't realise, injector overhead requires you have some form of injector control, eg Osirus cable for the V35.
  7. Nothing in that tailgate is simple unfortunately.
  8. What ecu are you running? If you have a spare PWM output I would be seriously looking at the Fuelab variable speed pumps. Be aware, they need at least 10an lines into the pump to limit cavitation. (Same thing could be killing your 044)
  9. No, any car can run on ethanol if you have enough overhead on the injectors, or just stick 30% larger injectors in and let the stock ecu work it out.
  10. Is the HKS supercharger kit bolt on for V35 or only 350z? I know there would be mods required for a Stagea nose. I can sell you my whole kit, but you will need some cooler and piping fabrication. I can include the front half of the exhaust, manifolds intake, external gate etc so you would be well on your way. Where are you located? I can do most of the fab work if you are in Vic. The Stagea is a V35 from the drivers seat forward and the manifolds bolt up, a few studs will need to be moved to different holes though. There is a far bit of work fitting the crossover pipe, might be easier to drop the engine to fit it all. I can also make you up a new kit if you want to drop the car off. PM me if you want to discuss pricing for various options. Do you have a power figure in mind?
  11. Lol Artz mixes 98 and e85 all the time. I on the other hand have been using e85 for 5 years straight.
  12. There would be a microswitch for the button, and another in the lock mechanism to engage the auto close. I haven't played around with the lock as yet. Perhaps the wiring where it goes through the hinge may be playing up? I hope they didn't drill through it when the child restraints were fitted.
  13. Don't buy one from Nissan, they don't work for long. Either get a S/H original part number AFM or I can supply aftermarket AFM's for $65 that work fine.
  14. Yes mate, it's here. Should I hold on to it for you... for another year or two?
  15. Mine are still going strong after 5 odd years, daily driving in the 2 ton whale.
  16. Looking to sell my GTX3076 kit very soon, I am dropping back to the GTX3071 as the auto doesn't like the torque I am putting to all 4. Don't bother with centrifugal supercharger kits, they have the lag of a turbo with the added supercharger power losses to spin it up.
  17. Did you reset the ecu to clear the long term fuel trims though Colin? Not a good indication if you are just changing for one tank full, plus the fuels would be mixed as the tank wasn't empty. I would expect less K's to a tank with any e10, there is slightly less energy density.
  18. Yes, but did you check the fuses on the relay board?
  19. No, because the stock ecu will only add or subtract around 10% of the fuel. Anything outside that range will trigger the MIL as the ecu will know something is seriously wrong. Ethanol stoich is 9:1 I think. Not sure what e85 would be as I have never needed to know.
  20. As the sensor reads lambda it automatically compensates for different fuels. I tune e85 to 14.7:1 on my gauge and it is just as stoich as a petrol tune. (just remember, e85 isn't 100% ethanol anyway.)
  21. Most of Stao's test turbo's don't have the water hooked up either I noticed, quick release ftw. Good way to test them out for heat issues I suspect.
  22. Trent and I were discussing this very topic yesterday after seeing the fault first hand. We agreed the later (VQ etc) motors using a flywheel based trigger with a large trigger wheel behind the starter teeth was a much better idea, as the larger the wheel, the easier it is to pick up the trigger magnetically, hence less noise. Not sure how hard it would be to make something like that work on the RB flywheel though. As for the stock cas, the spacing is just too small between the cutouts for a lagging optical sensor to pick up. That said, they are very old by now and most probably require replacement. Any idea how much they sell for new? I wonder how hard it would be to modify the stock harmonic balancer for a trigger wheel? All it needs is a 24 tooth chain sprocket tapped on to it with one tooth ground down, correct? But you would still require the converter box for the Nistune.
  23. I tune my car in AFR, what's the difference? All Wbo2 sensors read lambda afaik.
  24. You would be surprised how much e85 you can put in the tank before the ecu calls it quits and throws a code. Remember the o2 sensors in these modern cars are very good at re-calculating short term fuel trims. I have heard 50% is usually ok.
  25. I had it up in gale force gusts the other day, it was moving around a little, but it was also a great test. The car does act as a decent sail up in the air like that. Only cost me 3k, and it wasn't the cheapest one, you can get full 2 post hoists for sub 2k these days.
