  1. Pretty easy job on the hoist, took Matt and I around 5 hours to drop his subframe today and weld up both sides, drilling the ends of the cracks first to stop further damage. 120 amps AC on the tig gave it a nice strong alloy weld, should be good for years to come without bracing it further.
  2. So running well buddy, good to hear.
  3. It would want to suck my cawk for that price. 3 times what I pay for a cat. lol.
  4. I think it runs the same housing as yours doesn't it Artz? It was from Stao originally, came on a T67 billet turbo (bigger compressor only I think, I can check with Hypergear) with the .73 rear in T3. It was removed due to needing a T25 flange housing and has never been used. I can do an external gate off this one and send it up if you like, if it is suitable for machining to match your turbine. Angryrb had a split pulse manifold and turbo, requiring the wastegate to be split also. I helped him design the split single gate setup off the housing but it was much more complex than Artz housing above. I assume from your housing choice you were looking at a T3 manifold? Artz is correct in saying the stock manifold will flow the numbers...
  5. Craig dumped his car at the Opera house?
  6. Scotch locks = failure waiting to happen. Have you checked the relay board behind the battery for corrosion?
  7. The auto will suck 10% of the engine power on average so you need to aim higher than your goal. What GCG highflow is it, the 3076 cartridge? Why not save 1k and get a more responsive Hypergear? Or just get a proper Garrett that will work as expected... Garrett bearings don't like high back pressure or exhaust heat as you would see stuffing them into mismatched stock housings. The pump isn't something you want to do twice. Do it once with decent pump, wiring and a relay, it won't cost much more and will give you overhead flow for the next mods. 230kw won't feel fast for long. Get the largest trans cooler you can, they are never big enough. I run a thermostat on mine to allow the gearbox to warm up quickly.
  8. I have modified quite a few of those Kando housings to external gate. They are great housings and flow well. I even have one on the bench here if you want me to take measurements, or you could make an offer on it. Just get Stao to machine it out to suit.
  9. GCG, really? Did you research that one? Bosch ev14's are the injector you need, go for the 1000's just incase you want more fuel down the track. Grab a Walbro 460L pump too if you haven't replaced it yet.
  10. Sounds like the common Bose stereo issue to me... Ditch it for an aftermarket head unit and dual din facia, why would you waste your time sticking an OEM back in.
  11. Haha, pre-pinned harness adapter? They are all hard wired to the oem loom. How many do you think we have tuned so far Dunc? Perhaps you could swap the entire harness, it isn't too hard. Much easier to cut yours up and wire in the universal harness though.
  12. Exactly what I did, 1/8 bspt thread. And I see much the same temps in the turbo entry. My egt probe has been fine for 3-4 years. I recorded around 100c difference between the manifold and the dump. Running United ethanol btw.
  13. Means you have modded the car enough that it is running into areas of the map where the ecu isn't comfortable, and you need a tune to address it.
  14. You must be buying crap cats Amon. The Xforce substrates are welded to the body, they won't move ever, and punching one out took me over an hour. Quicker and easier to make a pretend one from 4 inch stainless and two reducers.
  15. A straight pipe through the cat, inside it, not cut out the cat and replace it. The hassle is, if they drop the cat it will be obvious, if they measure the heat of the cat it will be colder than the pipe. At least if they see the insides are gone, there is no way they can fine you, as it obviously just dropped out one day officer... Don't ever try and punch out a metal cat, only attempt it on the stock ceramic ones.
  16. Just buy a Chinese knockoff Consult 3 unit, it comes with the consult connector for older Nissans, as well as the OBD2 plug. Same software Nissan use so you can fault find every ecu in the car, and diagnose signals and faults.
  17. You told us the Weldon was the shit... Looks like the Fuelab with PWM input is a cheaper/better option then, and quieter?
  18. But said Venom cat doesn't work at lowering emissions, and isn't even legal. Best flow would be a single cell cat, just punch the stocker out. Unless the OP gives us some idea of what he wants the cat to be good at, I can't suggest the best cat... Shame, it takes more energy to make a cat then sell it to us suckers, than it would ever save in emissions. We are better off capturing carbon from the atmosphere in ice blocks, or simply running ethanol in all vehicles that will run on it, as in Brazil.
  19. What plugs are you running? It seems very unusual, perhaps the o2 sensor is playing up? I can't think of much else it could be. Is the rear cat blocked perhaps?
  20. Welcome Dane, looks like you picked up a good one.
  21. Sorry, I don't even have a spare at the moment. Perhaps get on to Jetwreck and see if he can send you his shaft as a replacement? Or wait until my Axis wreck comes down from Queensland. Not much chance they would have the parts, and Nissan aren't cheap. This is why you need to repair the boot when it splits, sand, dirt and water will quickly kill a CV.
  22. I wouldn't rule out the map sensor, I just don't think it is used for tuning on the engine. It's easy enough to swap and try it though. On the C34 you could just disconnect the hose to the map sensor... Can you list the mods you have currently? What turbo are you running again? Shame I can't stick the consult on it, is it coming up with any codes?
  23. The actuator is only 7 psi, unless you have one of mine, in which case you would need to drop the spring. Have you changed the plugs since taking those shots? I can send over another AFM if you like, or simply swap it with another one off a known working Stagea? Might be time to think about a tune if all that fails...
  24. It uses CAN, but not the same CAN setup as the VQ35 afaik. It can run independently to some extent, with no kick down. I am starting to think a VQ35 transplant is on the cards along with the 6 spd manual conversion. That new Haltech would be very nice to get working.
  25. Sad day Craig, sad day again... You wrecked another VQ25det. You deserve to be on a push bike.
