  1. Cihan (Etuner) is over sunshine way, at Edge Motorworks. He would most probably be able to get a map together for you to drive down if needs be. So would Trent at Checkered tuning, but he is over Dandenong way and most probably booked for weeks. They are both worth having a chat to. Do you have a wideband going in? Very useful for remote logging/tuning...
  2. Perhaps the oil seal is leaking into the exhaust? Are you sure it's the compressor housing?
  3. Edge is a great workshop, but they send a lot of their bigger welding jobs to me, not sure they have a permanent fabricator there at the moment.
  4. I have a customer coming over from Adelaide for a tune in a few weeks. Just drive the car to Melbourne.
  5. You big fagt girlz blouse. Heading there soon.
  6. Doesn't sound like they want your money, as you seem to know what you are looking for... I bought my Stagea from an importer, they showed me the auction papers (whatever that is worth) and allowed me to inspect the car on their hoist for underbody damage and rust. If they didn't allow at least that there is no way I would be buying a Japanese import. I have seen too many rust buckets from the salted roads.
  7. It is still technically legal as long as it plumbs back to the intake, but you would need an engineer to sign off on it in most states. The popo can defect you for anything non standard, or even for a bog stock car if they feel like it.
  8. Good luck, hopefully they sort you out. I have a spare 6 spd for parts if they are required, but at a guess they will need to replace the box for you.
  9. The 350z = a modern Stagea, what is it you are against exactly? Wagons? Aurion = front wheel drive = Ghey. Adding a supercharger doesn't change anything... Just my opinion.
  10. No, obviously not as Nissan would have had to do a factory recall. I would say the clock has had a fair bit wound off it...
  11. Left in the dust is a little excessive, I love my GTX and the results are excellent imo. Keep your HTA fanboi speeches for the impressionable boys in the FP thread. Considering you all talk about them continuously I would find it hard to believe someone hasn't heard of FP, Precision or BW for that matter. I think Garrett is still king of reliability in most peoples minds... for good reason. If that means they are a little slower in their design rollouts and test their turbo's for longer, I am all for it. I have a Precision 6766 on the bench at the moment, not sure I like how thin the compressor blades are. Hopefully they haven't gone too light weight just to beat the competition... No need to sook about being 'helpful on these forums', everyone else is here for the same reason. If you don't like people having opinions that differ to yours, better stay off the interwebz.
  12. Sounds like the shifter mechanism has failed internally, the car is under statutory warranty so take it back, and show your displeasure. I would be pissed, but it may not be their fault... It may have been traded/auctioned in that state.
  13. You heard? You heard wrong... By the way, 99 percent of all goods made today are made in China. Of course it's thin gauge, no-one wants their muffler weighing 50kg.
  14. Asks about Garrett offerings, gets advice on every other manufacturer but...
  15. You need to read every 2nd letter of each word...
  16. Harsh down changes occasionally may signify there is a shift kit installed, hopefully everything is fine with the install... The gearbox won't select 5th gear until the engine temp is above 65 degrees, I would be getting it on a scanner to see if the engine coolant temp sensor is working fine first, then I would look at the gearbox fluid temp sensors (TP1 and TP2). What you described sounds the opposite of what should happen for some reason. Where are you located Brent?
  17. I have only heard one turbo that didn't make that noise, it was probably one that had been replaced in Japan before import. The rear bearing is what makes the noise afaik and is the source of most failures. If you can drill the banjo bolts out to around 1.5mm from .9mm they will be much less likely to block, but if the engine has been serviced regularly you should have no problems. Highflow turbo's are re-manufactured from your existing housings, as there are no replacement or bolt on turbo's for our car. $880 is pretty cheap for a custom machined turbo built in Australia imo. The labour can be expensive due to the turbo's location.
  18. I wouldn't be using the long hose remote pickup personally, as the pump will suck air through the fitting at anything under 1/2 tank. I would be trying to get the pump into the very bottom of the tank, into the cup in the bottom if there is one, and use the sock that comes in the box...
  19. Makes the diff feel nice and tight, just the way you like it.
  20. How much power are you running? 4 inch is good for 5-600kw imo, 3.5 should be plenty for most applications, especially down the back once the exhaust gasses have cooled...
  21. There is very little difference in any of the straight through muffler designs from my experience. It's just a perforated pipe with packing at the end of the day. Go as large as you can with the muffler body to reduce decibels, and don't go larger than you need to in pipe size.
  22. Just get a flex welded in, no big deal...
  23. More cracks Craig? PM me a price on those diff bushes Dale. I have changed a few now, (including my car) and would like a set on the shelf I think, as the stock oil filled ones are starting to fail regularly...
  24. Cleaning all the gunk off the coil packs can work wonders for misfire issues, and dielectric grease to insulate them from sparking back to the rocker cover.
  25. They don't if you lift the car level, with all 4 pads on the correct spot. The jacking points on the sill are reinforced to handle it, just take it easy and make sure the pads are central as you lift.
