  1. Some tasty mods there David, welcome.
  2. Lucky you didn't blow the box on the dyno, I did. Get a shift kit and cooler on it as a minimum, the box won't have liked getting that hot so changing the fluid will be a smart idea.
  3. You want an Osirus tune? Or just reflash a faulty ecu with factory data? If you are planning a tune you are better off sticking a few mods on first, high flow cats, decent exhaust, if you have the coin some 370z exhaust manifolds and custom cats will improve power and response.
  4. Quoting power figures on changing parts can be hit and miss unless you back to back test the parts, even then it is most probably bullsh1t as there are many restrictions to flow, and a little turbulence in the dump isn't going to change it much. Bell mouth is bigger = better. If the split dumps opened up into a 3 inch pipe for the turbo alone, they may be acceptable, but the wastegate path is nowhere near smooth enough or large enough. Ditch the internal gate altogether imo, they cause much more restriction than external gate setups.
  5. It won't be the o2, you can test it by unplugging them (there is one per bank) They aren't cheap to replace, you will be paying around $500 for the parts alone. From my experience it sounds like the crank sensor, but you need to get it onto a scanner/oscilloscope to check the signals before blowing your coin swapping parts that may or may not be faulty. Just my opinion... Skipping a beat constantly, could be: spark plugs a coil pack dodgy wire or connection a faulty/blocked injector Crank/cam sensor faulty ecu The list goes on... Swapping parts until it's fixed can get expensive, unless you can borrow them off a known working car. Work your way through the cheapest options first if you can.
  6. Good chance the solenoid is stuffed or the gear is jammed on the shaft. Drop it and make sure everything moves freely, then test the throw out solenoid.
  7. I guess this was the reason you are on your own.
  8. The thermostat doesn't close fully, around 10% of the flow still goes through the cooler when the oil is cold, so there should be no issue.
  9. Drifter. Or buy my spare set of 350z rims.
  10. The cold start valve is under the manifold, the AAC is a secondary valve. But what do you care if you plan to ditch the engine? I could think of much better engines to drop in, but none as simple to build or tune as the LS.
  11. Because it's shit fuel for a low compression NA V8, as long as they try to make the engine compatible with 91, it will never run well on ethanol imo, not without bumping the compression or charging. Economy was down 30% with no real power gains. The bogan crowd have always been against ethanol in their fuel so don't care if it's dropped, and with Caltex trying to get out of their contract, Holden would know flex fuel is dead in the water here. Only GM US were pushing them to use it, for the green aspect. I have done power back to back tests between the brands, there was only 4kw in it. I will be filling on eflex in Canberra soon, apparently there is an airport run coming up and I want to see what the wagon can do when I stretch her legs.
  12. I think they will be maxed around that power, although injector flow can vary, but I don't like pushing injectors too hard. Just remember a set of Xspurt 1000's are cheaper than a re-tune in most cases, especially with the 34 top feed sets, as you don't have to buy a rail kit.
  13. Try cleaning the carbon track contacts on the sender in the fuel tank, they get dirty over time.
  14. I bought some Penrite Enviro+ 5W40 to try next change, full synth and SN rated so it should be fine with ethanol. 10 Tenths is hard to find.
  15. Should be fine.
  16. Boats don't have speed limits unless 50M or less from the shore...
  17. Ti dump pipe? Why? I just checked, as I have a Ti bung here. It isn't the correct thread though, too small.
  18. I didn't think Vaso was safe to use on rubberz... KY's the go. Considering that the clean and test is half the price of new injectors in some cases, I know which way I would be going... Xspurt 1000's please.
  19. I had to, the rear diff was a different ratio for a few months. Puzzle averted. Skids Yo!
  20. # I do.
  21. V35 auto track car? Not without a LOT of work. If only it were manual, I would have snapped it up.
  22. I would have done nearly that many K's, the only drawback was having to clean out the female spline in the transfer case when I re-fitted the shaft.
  23. Can't you just bolt the stock oil/water adapters to the bottom of the new turbo's?
  24. Correct, you will probably feel an engine surge as the pressure and flow reverberate back to the bov if it is placed on the hot side.
  25. They do self learn fast, but that wouldn't help much with cold starts as the widebands aren't very accurate initially. Holden were still using the Continental ethanol sensors until recently, when they ditched flex fuel. I am getting a free sensor from one of the Holden design techs as he has no use for it anymore. When I was tuned on e70 a few years ago I used to fill at the Powerplus e85 pump and add 6L or so to the mix to keep the wideband happy. It just becomes a pain in the arse, better to tune on e85 and run a little rich on the e70 if you use it.
