  1. So it worked Portaz? Good to hear. I just finished a GT35 install that billowed smoke both ends without the restrictor, a .9mm fitting later and it was perfect, other than the exhaust being full of oil.
  2. I think you should contact the supplier for that help. Without sighting the install or at least seeing high res pics I have no idea what you have at the moment.
  3. Probably because there are bugger all PM35's around yet.
  4. I suspect the majority of the oil viscosity noise is coming from the VQ cam chain tensioners, the two smaller chains between the cams. These tensioners have restrictors in and out, and can bleed off too quick with a thinner oil, not pushing the chain with enough force to keep it tight. I find a 10w40 perfect to remedy these noisier engines. Any thicker simply makes the car feel lethargic. Why don't you try a thinner oil and let us know how you go, I doubt it will stay in the engine for 2k let alone 10...
  5. The Bosch kits I sell drop straight in, where did you buy them from?
  6. Yes. I can possibly supply you with the correct lower Orings, why they weren't supplied to you in the first place is the main issue. Did you tell the supplier they were for a GTR? I would have thought a GTST plenum would allow GTST injectors to drop in... Perhaps I don't understand exactly what your issue is... Can you take a pic?
  7. Have you ever tested that theory Duncan? Try warming a sample of each to 90 degrees, I think you will find there is a difference, especially the speed it will flow through a small hole under pressure. Too thick an oil will obviously slow down oil flow to the cam chain, turbo, and anything else with a .9mm restrictor. Too thin will possibly flog bearings out and will drain past the drainback valve too easily causing cold start wear. If you can hear noise then there is definitely wear happening, which is why I stick to 5w40 winter or 10w40 summer. I have brand preferences also. More importantly is to service your engine regularly. For the price of a semi synth these days ($20-$30) I would be dropping it every 4k and keeping it fresh, it's cheap insurance...
  8. I am definitely not charging enough.
  9. I agree, every car I have heard with engine rattles has had the standard mechanic's 5w30 (Commo spec) oil. Just remember these VQ's run 90+ degree oil temps daily, even in winter, and I have seen over 10 bar oil pressure on my gauge.
  10. Damn Stao, it's gotta be 3 hours back to your place in this traffic. Was a shame, I wanted to see what it could do. Wasn't it you last week with the cheapskate injectors?
  11. Just grab the Walbro e85 460L, it is so much cheaper... $200 I think, and ethanol safe. I think my old Tomei has finally given in after 4 years on ethanol.
  12. Mine does the same thing, it even ran today for a few seconds then cut out. Once restarted it is fine, although very doughy for the first 20 seconds or so. It's just so much ethanol getting injected and not enough petrol to fire the mix. I am seriously thinking a dual fuel setup with petrol running off the stock ecu/injectors perhaps, and e85 on secondary injectors is the way to go, for economy, higher K's to the tank and improved starting in winter.
  13. It was the AFM, I installed a new one for him Wednesday night and reset the code. Must be working fine, no calls yet.
  14. For any aftermarket pump, yes.
  15. Try it out, it's not like it will blow up, it's just a pwm output. I am interested to see how you go, I am about to buy a sensor and Zeitronix unit for my Fcon.
  16. I have a Stagea one which I assume is the same. You are after the single din unit right?
  17. Apparently the Continental sensors don't need the pull up resistor, as found out by a customer of mine with his Link G4. Try it out both ways I guess.
  18. A location may help...
  19. Probably quicker to send them across Africa to you guys. Wrong way around...
  20. Which one? There are so many different ones out there, and some with completely different internals. I noticed the DW 200 looks like an exact copy of the Walbro 255, where does it end? I guess a product is only as good as it's warranty, even if it did perform as well as the original.
  21. You aren't gunna get in my pants that easy big boy... Ok, perhaps you will.
  22. Sure it didn't just need a coolant bleed? Where was the steam coming from?
  23. I have some AFM's in, PM me for one...
