  1. Why would you need 4 jerries? you driving to Wakefield? I realise those flex fuel sensors are soooo expensive, but I don't think $50 is going to upset the new wife too much.
  2. I think you are missing the point of a race engine, they don't need to rev to 11ty, they only need to be built strong and flowed to suit the turbo. I assume Tony isn't going to fit a GTX45 anytime soon so the stock heads would have been fine with just a clean up. The cooling side is much more important. Now e85 is available, and any track car owner in their right mind would be running it, there is little need for crazy port jobs and long duration cams imo. Early spool and massive efficiency curves are where its at, track or road...
  3. GCG sound like they have no clue.
  4. What information do you want to know? They blow when you boot them, very hard to hang out of the bonnet at 100k's an hour. I have a theory, the Chinese are spitting in each Nissan AFM as it rolls off the production line. I think they are still pissed over that island dispute...
  5. Sidefeed? You're screwed buddy.
  6. It should have been the first resort, it is well known the AFM's require re-soldering occasionally and the dry joints manifest as intermittent power loss as you described. Check the 'how to' tutorial.
  7. What, a couple of hundred? Even a Cranbourne dole bludger can afford that... For his Excel...
  8. So Craig tells me. Thread derailment:.... Achieved.
  9. The power duct makes no difference to the noise. If it's fluttering then the compressor is back flowing air, which means the BOV isn't doing it's job well enough. I know at least 4 people have contacted Turbosmart recently for the same reason, I have no idea why they can't sort out a softer spring for you. Do they realise this isn't an RB?
  10. My Kompact doesn't flutter.
  11. How did you rule out the wastegate then?
  12. I thought they would go quick. Unfortunately I doubt the manufacturer will warrant these either, so I can't offer one myself for now. If they seem reliable after this batch I will add a little to the price and offer some kind of warranty with them perhaps. Not that it matters, Nissan won't warrant their $330 ones either.
  13. I keep telling people to go the 1000's but they insist on buying 5-600's, then complain when they max out. Just buy them and sell the 555's to some other sucker.
  14. Less timing and rich = overboooost.
  15. Don't feel bad, it happens to everyone. lol
  16. That's the issue with saddle bag fuel tanks. Get a surge tank in the wheel well...
  17. Ordering tonight. Can you steal a S/H one from the wreckers for now? Don't bother going back to Nissan for another reaming...
  18. I don't like the look of that Ubend, or the stepped piping...
  19. Would you run 91 because it's cheaper? Just do it Geoff, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks many times over. Power goals change, get some headroom with the 1000's.
  20. You can get different springs for them, it sounds a little stiff. Probably well set up for higher boost but at low boost it flutters a little.
  21. The Nissan replacement AFM's are not lasting long at all, and they refuse to warrant them. I have some aftermarket ones coming in the next week or so, they tested out fine so I am ordering a bulk shipment. Hopefully they will work out at around $65 each. A few of the M35 guys are using them without issue now. Let me know if you want one as I am sure they will disappear fast.
  22. So it made the engine worse in this instance, bigger isn't always better, especially with head porting. (I am of the belief they are too big already) 1 inch manifold runners are plenty too. Who wants to rev an RB anyway, it will end in tears every time. Moar boost not revs.
  23. Big Boschy? Why install a noisy 30 year old pump design. Just get a Walbro 460L and be done. Won't stop the surge though...
