  1. I have one here, the windings are blown off the commutator, is it something you could repair? Can you find a spare core with brushes?
  2. No Navi in the base model... ftw... I can now run full line pressure, (farkin hard shifts), or factory adjustable line pressure with variable adjustment using the TFT temp knobs. Seems to work well on around 60 degrees from my quick play today. It's off to Kewish next Wednesday for pressure readings, I think they will be impressed with the mods.
  3. I also got around to fitting the fan controller for both thermos and for displaying trans/oil temps. Kewish have asked me to modify a few of the signals going back to the TCU, including both temp signals and the main line pressure solenoid. Should be interesting to see what I can do manually with regards to line pressure, and the best part is, no more limp mode if the fluid gets too hot at the track. I need to paint the control panel stealth black yet, if I cbf...
  4. Email Varex and ask them for a replacement control box perhaps? It could be the remote too I guess. Hooking direct power to the motor will fu*k it.
  5. Haha, hardly of us Victorians have a legal exhaust. Good for keeping under the radar, my Varex has saved me many times. As for restrictive... I doubt it. lol. (Read Sig.)
  6. It's a good oil, you won't be disappointed. I managed to source a 20L drum for $120 through Repco, but then I had to buy the pump for it...
  7. That's cheap, I paid $350 for my last one from a wrecker. All VQ25 ones are the same, so you can get one off a DD. I have a spare if anyone else needs one. Good to see you could get it fixed same day, there must be more and more parts getting around now.
  8. Of course there is a reason to keep it 3 inch to the turbo mouth, less restriction... I match my intakes to the actual hole made by the lathe (every highflow is different) in the front housing, and then tapering it out like a Garrett, a nice smooth funnel into the turbo. At the speed of sound, the airflow needs every little bit of help it can. That said, how many of you are looking for every KW available? I should have done the same thing myself and compromised the lower intake for the benefit of lower cost, easy fitment and jigging, but as you would all know by now, I try and design my products for the best flow possible. Hopefully Andrew does well with these, they haven't been a big seller for me over the years. Jump on the group buy guys.
  9. The pressures on Ryan. lol.
  10. It is probably twenty hours work to complete, including bleeding the coolant and changing the oil. Unfortunately there is a week or two wait between removing and refitting, as you have to wait for Stao (Hypergear) to complete the rebuild. Craig has had quick turnarounds at Precision turbo's in Sydney but they are $4-500 more expensive.
  11. How did it go on the way home Nick? I should have sold you that spare coolant mod, it would have been quicker to fit that than bleed your engine...
  12. The ACL ones come in standard, +25 and - 25 thou.
  13. I'm rebuilding a VQ25det at the moment, it seems Nissan cant sell me any big end rod bearings... Wat? I wonder if VQ35 ones will fit, anyone know a way to find out? I guess I will have to measure the stock rods and compare them somehow...
  14. I got mine on Gumtree, 7 grand due to the previous owner not checking the oil and lunching the engine. I just placed an order for a full Brian Crower 2.3 stroker kit with all parts to rebuild the engine and it only came to $3700. Including the machining I should be able to keep it under $13,000 total cost by my estimates.
  15. Loud buzzing is usually overheating fuel, fairly common in summer. You could invest in a fuel cooler if you are worried... Doesn't get to full boos sounds like a completely different problem. Have you checked for piping leaks?
  16. lol, how many does that make in the Vic SAU bunch now?
  17. I have a set here too but i'm too scared to wreck the subframe. (even though I have a spare here.) Make Craig take pics like the bi*ch he is.
  18. Interior parts would be better than exterior, carbon gets damaged too easily by UV unfortunately. Been there done that on my old GSXR, never again.
  19. It's ok Alex, atmosphere is 14.7 psi anyway. lol
  20. They have no idea Ryan, as they aren't tuners. Any competent tuner should have no problem with it.
  21. If you want to ditch it you would be best grabbing a spare non hicas subframe and lower arms as they are completely different. I have one here but I think Iain has one up in Sydney too.
  22. No idea sorry, all the interior is stuffed into the back as Craig was too slack to re-fit it all when he stole the black leather interior. I'm sure it is in there somewhere...
  23. No re-tune required but you would need a matching ratio front diff unless you drop the shaft.
  24. Exactly Dale, and that 200 runs isn't including the Emanage learning process before it. I do honestly hope there are other tuning options and tuners in the future for the VQ25det, and if the guys at Nistune finally get on board we will all benefit. The HKS software is the best option available to us at the moment but there are so many things I would like to adjust that it doesn't have the maps for...
