  1. When you say checked for leaks, did you pressure test the intake at 20psi+? I have seen many leaks that would never be found using a smoke tester or visually, 20 psi into the intake usually sorts them quickly. The other common issue is the fuel reg hoses, they commonly fall off as there are no barbs. Make sure you cable tie both ends. Checking the reg at base fuel pressure you will need to remove this vac hose. Other than that, before you start swapping turbo's, have you tested the test device? I have seen more boost gauges fail or reading wrong than wastegate actuator problems.
  2. I was not a prototype evaluation engineer, nor was I ever asked to provide feedback. I was a customer, and a customer should not have to evaluate or test anything. You were the one selling turbo's on Ebay, I assumed wrongly that you had already tested them and they were suitable for the task they were designed for. After many failures without reason and a severe lack of communication, or should I say bullshit on your part, I had to move on. That's about as far as I went with it mate, anything else was an assumption on your part. If you continue using fellow members for your testing, can you please explain that to them, and the fact they will have no financial compensation if the test unit isn't as they expected or fails prematurely, otherwise you are being deceitful towards them as I feel you were to my customers and myself. As for turbo building, there are many companies who can shove a Garrett core into our stock housings, so shop around guys. Precision and GCG have been doing this for years, although their failure rate is not acceptable in my opinion either. The BB Garretts can't handle the thrust loads at even moderate boost in our housings, this has already been proven without your help.
  3. I have a set of 660's here second hand, but you will need a plenum spacer too as they are full length. Personally I would be buying new Xspurt Bosch long nose 1000's, the better spray pattern will likely pay the extra cost off in no time with better economy.
  4. Development partner? I just feel like a shafted customer. There are only so many hits you can take and still remain loyal to a brand, I thought I did quite well to last as long as I did considering the constant failures and lack of warranty. I would have thought a development partner would have some input and perhaps some financial backing while testing products, I was not given either. In fact when I kept suggesting a BB core you advised against it many times. So glad I have moved on to more professional and knowledgeable turbo specialists now. Will, there are many companies making highflow turbo's, Precision in Sydney, GCG, Hypergear, Intense, ATP and many more over the years, some have been developed for power, some are simple highflow replacement turbo's. I have seen most in action and unfortunately none were well matched until recently. Shoving wheels into housings is easy, developing the correct turbo for the application is much harder and installation and tuning costs skyrocket quickly. Take your time and research what you might need, it's a difficult turbo to replace and it's not something you want to do twice, or multiple times in some cases.
  5. This is why you need to talk to me, Matt infers the Intense bush core turbo on my car is shite, but it actually out performs any turbo I have seen fitted to an M35, or nearly any vehicle I have slapped a turbo on for response. With the auto it makes it a little hard to compare dyno graphs, but it is easily realised when you drive the car. Unfortunately you get that online and everyone thinks their car is the fastest rocket ship once they change a few parts. The difference is I know what parts work together and what parts fail, I fit them on a daily basis, and I have nothing to gain by pushing garbage products, it just wastes my time and that of the customer. I know for a fact if our mate Tao didn't give Matt a free turbo, Matt wouldn't be singing his praises at all. I guess it's like forum politics, and if anyone bags out an SAU trader their post just gets deleted, hence why it's probably better to talk on the phone. I am just about over this forum, for many reasons, so it may be the only way to contact me soon...
  6. How many of you have had the cam re-learn done on Consult3?
  7. Sorry, i don't see the point in restricting a 3 inch zorst down to smaller than factory...
  8. The VCT won't be making the stutter, it will likely be mixture related, possibly caused by the VCT positioning. How many of you have checked or changed your fuel filter? or changed the filter baskets in the tops of the injectors? Just remember the wideband isn't accurate until the engine is up to operating temp either, so the engine is running off a base tune from when it was new. I can only assume this stuttering is on a few cars? If it was VCT angles it would likely be on all of this model, not a couple. I would need to see one to diagnose further, but perhaps running it up on cold start on a Dyno might give you some more information, while logging the factory ecu signal outputs and o2 from the tailpipe with a hot Wo2 sensor.
  9. The cam sensor is extremely accurate, but the cams have a self learn function which may need to be re-learnt for local conditions. Unfortunately they change their required PWM depending on oil viscosity/temp. The delay for cam actuation is only to get the oil to operating temp, but it runs off the water temp, and there is a delay before the oil reaches the same temp as the water. I suspect this is where there might be an issue.
  10. Even if it is the VCT kicking in, why would that cause a stutter? Stuttering is likely running lean, it might be worth getting a wideband on it during this warm up period to see what is happening. If that's the case a simple tune would fix it.
  11. The screen still works, just no 'Leaf' data.
  12. Ahh, why not get the Stagea Nismo dash? I suspect it's the same but who knows. There are two versions, one supports the TV, the other doesn't. No coding required, but legally it can't be done here as the KM would need to be 'adjusted' Edward Lees style. You could try giving him a call, he obviously knows someone with the odo correction tool.
  13. Craig is a Vtard now so who knows. Yes, the amount of fuel reg hoses I have seen pop off, it is very common especially once you bump up the boost, or muck around with the BOV.
  14. I doubt anything V36 is bolt on. The flanges on the Y pipe were supposed to be in the same spot, but they are not. I have a set of V36 headers here, they would be a great upgrade over the stock log manifolds. Custom cat pipes are required though.
  15. How hard do you drive it? I go through 20L in a 5 minute session at Sandown. I can get down to 10L to 100k's in the evo on e85, the stagea is generally twice that on the open road. Injectors play a large part, do you know how much of the fuel is being sprayed onto the walls of the ports rather than towards valves? How small are the droplets? Most people would have no idea I guess.
  16. It's pretty tight down there for twin gates. Here is one I did a few years ago, 6 boost manifold and twin 40's.
  17. Either way you will need an original Greddy map sensor harness, so you can plug into the front panel. I would just import the correct sensor and harness to make life easier for the tuner.
  18. More likely you just swapped a couple of the coil plugs around, it's pretty easy to do.
  19. You are missing the GTX3076 there, I think the 71 may drop off a little in the top end, but a .82 rear on a 76 might be perfect, especially if you externally gate the turbo or stock manifold. Are you planning to run e85? That would change things... The GTX3076 is good for 400kw on e85.
  20. Not quite, but who's counting... Unfortunately bagging a forum trader's product is not allowed no matter how many times you have issues with it, or how you are treated, so you will likely only see one side on here Grant.
  21. I still use Superpro (non offset) over most brands, as they are a better design, and don't creak. Up to you if you want to try another type, but leave feedback here as to the reliability and noise if you can. I would much rather the Superpro over the stock rubber, even if new.
  22. Its ok Cam, it's an NM35, 03 not 06.
  23. Agreed. Oh, he was pushing the Five O junk a couple of years ago if you don't remember. Must be getting kickbacks.
  24. It does exactly that, although it is fast at learning, so I would have expected it to be sorted on the dyno. If the AFM is hitting over voltage in one particular cell it will fuel cut like this, but the voltage this happens at changes depending on the cell.
