  1. Nice, care to throw the keys over this way? I finished getting my track whale prepared today, new tow strap fitted, fire extinguisher installed, quick road tune tonight and she is ready for PI. Damn it pulls hard now, the tune was way out running 14.5:1 on boost for some reason, perhaps there was a boost leak before? The only thing I did was to make up a new rear muffler, I can't imagine it would have had that much effect. I would guess I picked up at least 40kw by my butt dyno, awd skids tomorrow.
  2. 25c less than standard unleaded.
  3. I'm going to bring 80L of ethanol, plus 3/4 of a tank, got to allow for the trip home. Can we lobby the local United for an e85 pump?
  4. I was just wondering the same thing, a Mc brekky only gets me so far...
  5. If you grease up the tap it should hold most of the chips in the flute, I'm guessing the thread only needs a cleanup anyway, as if the plug were fully cross threaded it would need to be removed and helicoiled. A vacuum cleaner with a length of hose attached sounds like the go for cleaning out the bore, and those snake cameras are only $100 these days. I doubt that is the cause of the missfire though...
  6. What are you so worried about Paul, it's a simple turbo swap, and don't you have access to a hoist? Pictures in such a confined space will just confuse you more, it's not like you can see the bolts. Just give me a call when you do the job, i'm happy to work you through it...
  7. If it isnt the tyres I would say the main castor arm bush is shagged, fairly common fault on these barges. Not really something you can check on the side of the road though.
  8. The Sard one looks good but $350 for what is essentially a small trans cooler seems a bit steep.
  9. The knock sensor is a pita to get to, and the coaxial from the sensor is incorporated into the loom for the injectors. I should have a spare for that somewhere too if you want to change them both. Have you checked the ecu plug inst loose or corroded?
  10. What products would you recommend for that? I was planning to run a fuel cooler but wasn't sure how to go about it. The return line would have bugger all pressure so can you use a simple trans cooler?
  11. I used to come home stinking of that pungent sulphur smell after a dyno session, hasn't happened since I defected to e85. Perhaps that is your best option?
  12. I use the Xforce ones, they come in 200 and 100cpsi with a 4.5 inch body. Quite reasonably priced too. As long as the catalyst is welded to the body they are extremely robust, you definitely won't be bashing one out easily. http://www.bestmufflers.com/bshop/
  13. I would but my hands are always too dirty, and the missus won't let me use the camera. The way I do it involves a few special tools I have made, and also requires a fair tool kit (torx sockets, extra long extensions with universals, deep sockets etc,) not something I would generally recommend as DIY. Its a biach of a job.
  14. I was running 40psi base, around 35psi at idle. The stock reg will be fine.
  15. They are around the same price then. I have the dead time report here, that is correct for 43.5 psi but it will climb exponentially the higher the fuel pressure and if the voltage is lower. Most tuners will have used ID's and ev14's before so I doubt you will have any issues.
  16. Perhaps you should take it back for a warranty repair.
  17. There is only one o2 sensor (the one in the dump), bank one is it's name. The 3.5's have bank one and two as they run twin o2 sensors. If it doesn't come back you may be fine. O2 sensors only have an 80,000k life so there is a good chance it needs changing anyway.
  18. Does anyone in here have a car that can't be defected? At the end of the day the goal is to not be pulled over, the impression of a stock car is the key imo. Unfortunately there are no aftermarket mufflers I can recommend to reduce noise to a legal level other than the closed Varex. Other than that you would be best off finding a S/H jap cat back with a Jasma label. I have gone back to the Varex motor on mine as the varex valve was too tight and kept jamming. There are other options I am trying at the moment.
  19. I have a few here Matt, what are the symptoms? I have never heard of one going...
  20. Birds, even the 040 needs a good power supply, in fact I would be upgrading the power for any aftermarket pump as they require up to 4 times more current. Stao found out the hard way that the stock wiring can't supply 17 amps. Sorry to hear mate.
  21. I did have the data sheet here but I can't find it. Just give Aznew (Injectors online) a call, they are quite helpful. If you have any issues I can ask them today, I have to go and pick up one of the new Walbro 416's they got in stock for me.
  22. Try a new set of wheels, a good matched set. The attessa can play weird games sometimes. How far are you from Hampton Park?
  23. That would be mine, I was filling with e85 at the Hallam United. Sorry I didn't see you Kate, must have had my blinkers on.
