  1. So run ethanol and wind it up to 360kw or more.
  2. Iain not Lain. lol.
  3. I was only talking about the United servos though, I don't know why that means I need to get out more... So you have 6 outlets now, not bad. Considering both ethanol plants will be based in Queensland I would have thought you guys would get the major share of pumps though. So Caltex have only stalled on fitting more pumps (down here) because they can't make it cheap enough yet? On topic, GTX3076 tune is booked for Saturday. Not sure I should lean on it as hard this time, perhaps I should be happy with 350 for now on the stock VQ block. I don't want to have to rebuild it by myself again, it was big job.
  4. I might have a spare assembly soon, not sure on the condition yet. That sounds like an expensive rebuild to me...
  5. Why would a built engine make any more power? Which part did you expect would make the 50whp gain?
  6. Don't rely on the turbo being rebuilt properly either, you may end up with someone else's laggy pos. You can buy an M35 pretty cheap now so budget the rebuild into the purchase price and be happy, I remember when a turbo swap was minimum 5k. To believe a 10 year old car sold at auction wont have any issues would be silly.
  7. I agree, post up pics of said install or pissorf. I'm getting sick of sharing all my hard earned info with him when he wont listen and refuses to share.
  8. United is at Warwick. Ethanol variation isn't a problem, even 10% variation would hardly change the afr's. I guess I have no worries with it as I bought a wideband, perhaps you should lash out $200 on a gauge too if you decide to go with e85? Every tune is rich on boost, how much so depends on what your tuner is comfortable with. The Jap tuners love 10:1 on petrol with shitloads of timing, here around 12:1 and a less aggressive timing map is the norm. Either of these tunes should have enough overhead for a fair amount of variation and it should never ping anyway. Just make sure your tuner has e85 experience (although most would by now.) I'm running 19-20:1 on cruise at the moment with no adverse effects, no knock and good exhaust temps. Try that with petrol, it wont run well and you would f*ck your engine fairly quickly I assume.
  9. Unfortunately Caltex seem to have stalled with their e85 rollout, much to Holden's disgust i'm sure. They got burned hard on the contract to supply it when the ethanol dried up last year, so I understand their unwillingness to install more pumps until demand has risen. (or until their waste ethanol plant is up and running) United on the other hand are set on cornering the market by the looks of it, a good position to be in as petrol gets more expensive. Anyone care to guess what will happen to petrol prices in the carbon trading economy? The government would be stupid to stifle e85's take up by taxing their greenest fuel option to date but who knows...
  10. Perhaps, but those 5 here and 5 there can add up to a lot of extra power once all the restrictions are taken care of. It would give you a gain, mine was well maxed and I squeezed another 6 out of it. Mainly changed as its local to me.
  11. Or custom make it locally and bolt whatever turbo you want on it. That way it's designed for right hand drive cars so no head f*ks.
  12. When you have waited 3 years for a local servo like I have, its hard to not be excited. Sorry, I will try to contain myself. If its any consolation it took me 5 minutes to start my car today, I almost threw in the towel and got the aerostart. Gotta get the tune done, these cold starts are killing me. (or at least have the laptop out for a fiddle)
  13. Moar wastegate spring. You know you want to...
  14. Perfectly placed for my western suburbs family runs. Still only one listed for Frankston, did you find the other one yet or was I mislead?
  15. What model Stagea? Brand of tyres? Pics? Not much thought went into this sale thread... Cmon JaR.
  16. If you jack up the front passenger side and stick a stand or two under it you will be able to drain the sump better and get good access to the undertray.
  17. From 5 years ago? Just search import monster or US but you will need a later version if it's for your M35. PM for details if you like.
  18. Mine isnt a skyline, less room to work with though. PS cooler in front with trans cooler behind it, then a Spal 9".
  19. Mine had a little carbon on the pistons, a quick squirt of gasket stripper cleaned them right up. Its a 150,000k engine so it should have been fairly caked. The ethanol wont ever ping with a good tune and it's cheaper to run than 98 now the price dropped. (United) Shame the only outlet in Qld is Warwick, how close are you?
  20. You have the perfect housing, don't change it to the .63 or you will have more issues with det than you have now. I doubt your engine is that coated in carbon that the compression would have been bumped, Can you get a scope down there for a look? If it is just drop the head off and clean it up, if its not there are some serious issues with your setup Mark.
  21. I saw the current and July price list, perhaps that was just the start of it though. I agree its not going to come down in price that's for sure.
  22. Way better? No way I would be rebuilding second hand anything over new BC's. Have you tried them or is it just your E opinion
  23. I have no idea, as long as the wideband shows less than 12:1 im happy, if it ever got leaner than that I would be adding a little 98 and getting another tune but I haven't seen much variation on the wideband in 3 years to worry about it at all.
  24. There are 4 United servo's in NSW now, hopefully more will follow as they are pumping the Melbourne rollout heavily. Dont look if you don't want to get upset. lol. http://www.unitedpetroleum.com.au/store-locator/fuels/E85
