I have been running e85 nearly 3 years now in my daily, back then it was a 1hr round trip to Southland for the 99c ethanol. Now there are 6 servos within 15 minutes of me. Of course it will take off once the pumps are in but the pumps will only go in if there is a market for the fuel. Like I have said many times they will only expand e85 if you all get on board and start driving to the nearest Caltex/United e85 outlet. This should all be in the e85 thread, I don't like whoring up Stao's Hypergear thread without results to post.

What choice will they have? If it's at the pump you will have control. It will only ever be seen as a performance fuel by a small percentage of turbo owners though.

Help A Girl Out! R33 Steering Column With No Thread
scotty nm35 replied to kimmeh's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Just get a machinist to cut a smaller thread onto it and run a washer under the nut. -
Yes, run the old pump power wire to a relay and switch constant power (fused) from the battery with decent sized wire. Don't forget to do the negative side as well, I run that back to the battery also.

Don't bother, just get 30%bigger injectors and drive it. -
R33 Stock Fuel Pump Compared To Walbro Gss-342
scotty nm35 replied to RBwhatever's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Is the 33 one working still? Don't fix what isn't broken, you could open a can'O'wormz. -
Jesus stops reversion? Just face the bov toward the compressor...
-
No point sooking about it. I want e85 results. Do GCG or MTQ do any testing and post it up for all to see? How is it Stao's obligation?
-
Stick your head in the tank and take a photo of the pump/wiring then post it up.

Post A Pic Of Your Stagea Thread
scotty nm35 replied to CruiseLiner's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
NA mods = waste of time. -
I think you would be surprised, its not 95% mate, and there is a growing percentage switching over these days. Stao is in Melbourne, half his customers down here are on ethanol or plan to run it. Just take 40kw off the graph if you need the 98 figures. Ask Trent what percentage of his tunes are e85, I would guess at 30-40%. Get with the times...

One 416lph Walbro will flow more than enough, so would a Nismo/Tomei pump. What does the 044 flow on ethanol though?

+1 ^^^ Where's the ethanol love? Usable result for who? Its Stao's car not yours Scott and he wants the powah. It sounds like they all jelly Artz...

R33 Stock Fuel Pump Compared To Walbro Gss-342
scotty nm35 replied to RBwhatever's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Stock 350z pumps max out around 220kw. Slap a DW or one of the new Walbro's into it. -
R34 Gtt Boost Gauge Working Intermittently
scotty nm35 replied to nj1985's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Here's a thread I did for the Stagea guys, Its the same sensor as I realised later. There are a few other threads on it too if you search around. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/297345-m35-factory-boost-gauge-repair/page__p__4951320__hl__boost%20sensor%20fix__fromsearch__1#entry4951320 -

Don't touch the pressure reg. We need more information to help you, what pump is it? Has it been wired to battery voltage like all aftermarket pumps should be?

Guilt-toy Now Running On E85 !
scotty nm35 replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Pretty much, it just intercepts the injector signal and modifies it so the stock injectors will run fine on ethanol. -
Guilt-toy Now Running On E85 !
scotty nm35 replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
There has been no fuel variation to speak of since e85 was introduced, as long as you run the same brand and fatten the fuel map a little it will run fine. I predict 300kw with crazy response. -
Exactly, if you can keep the combustion temps down and knocking under control your engine should last for a fair while powered up, as long as you don't track/thrash it. My stock pistons after 7 years running stock, nearly 3 years of e85 abuse and countless (hundreds) of dyno runs, just a quick wipe down and they look good as new.

The new Walbro 416lph looks good for the money, and ethanol safe apparently. I can get them for $180 locally and they flow around 215lph at 85psi while drawing only 18amps. Personally I would get the Bosch ev14 1000's and go for a 14mm top feed rail.
-
The psi is more a measure of the restriction in the parts you have chosen, the turbo can flow that in an optimum setup. The internal gate rear housings are restrictive compared to the external ones. Slapping an external on the manifold and welding the puck shut won't have the same gains as a full external housing upgrade but you will still see improvement.
-
If your tuner has that opinion of pump e85 then I wouldn't be getting him to do either tune. The safety offered by ethanol is required imo to tune at 300+kw power with a GT30 rear. Yes it has been done but those setups are knock limited, there is no point pushing petrol to that point as the 98 fuel variation will kill it quicker. Get e85 tuned a little rich and you will be fine on any ethanol fuel, if you are worried just slap a wideband in the dash and add 98 as required. I haven't done water injection on any of my cars yet although I plan to direct inject water into a spare high compression VQ25 I have here. If you could inject it on the exhaust stroke you would have the steam to help spool the turbo, possibly gaining some response back. Perhaps it could work in the manifold too?

Seems the TPS voltage was 2.3 volts (minimum) and this would cause the ecu to go into limp mode randomly. He changed the TPS and it runs fine again, tps is now 0.5v.
