  1. Go for brass pipe, the exhaust will ring nicely. lol.
  2. Needs some straight pipes Ash.
  3. +1 ^^^ Craig can sort you out.
  4. If anything mine is the stock car Jethro, some of them had put a fair bit of coin in for those figures (30k+ with Cosworth engines) but you're right, they are lighter and have a manual option. Just because a car feels faster doesn't mean it is though, my mates old WRX only has 130kw and feels ballistic, even with a slipping clutch. No way its actually faster though.
  5. That's what Wolverine posted... I didn't get prices on the GT3076 as I'm looking for more flow than it can supply. Hence I got a price yesterday on the GTX3076 ($1400 no housing) and the GTX3576 ($2200 with Tial Vband rear) Why don't you contact him for a quote as the dollar has fallen to parity recently.
  6. Its probably just bushes, perhaps you can lube them with lanolin spray or something that doesn't destroy rubber?
  7. They went out of business Aaron.
  8. GTX3071/76 is around $1400 with no rear housing.
  9. I agree Stao, the wastegate puck needs more tension however you can get it. Are you tuning again mate? Would it be ok if I come down and say hi? Trent is just around the corner from me.
  10. Cut the side out of a coke can and slide it between the bov and intake to block the hole. That will tell you if its the bov causing the issue. I'm guessing it is the problem.
  11. If that's the case it isn't hard to check the tensioner, its in the left hand side black cover on the front of the engine. Make sure the tensioner is pushing on the guide in the right position. VQ25's run a different tensioner and guide by the looks of it...
  12. Use the g35 workshop manual, its available online. I have a copy of the V35 one here too if you are local. As for the noise, it sounds like a worn bucket, they are a pain to change. You would have to measure the excess lash and add it to the bucket height to obtain the size for a new bucket. (from Nissan) The guides when they wear cause a rattly chain noise, not a tick, is it once each engine revolution approximately? Where are you located?
  13. Exaggerate much Aaron? I just found out the VRS top end Nissan gasket kits are discontinued so I hope I can find a suitable gasket kit to do the job. The full gasket kits for a VQ25det through Nissan are nearly $600.
  14. I'm in need of a passenger side inner boot if you find an aftermarket or oem part to fit. There are wraparound ones you can temporarily use if you get stuck. That one is certainly the worst I have seen, did you find the boot?
  15. Its easier than you think, drop in if you like...
  16. No need to cut new seals, just a thin smear of silicone around the plug tube that is leaking and replace the gasket around the edge.
  17. True, no-one can tell me when any part will go bang, there is definitely plenty of load on the gearbox now but its not like I can drop the clutch at 7k, the power comes on smooth and the torque converter dampens the torque output. Perhaps it has some more in it? I would be happy with a safer 350kw by going to the GTX3076 and not maxing it.
  18. We are just replying to the question... Go the Garrett if you can afford it.
  19. You should be able to get a GT3076 for under that price delivered, have you asked street to track or someone else that supplies from the US?
  20. Yep, they were originally copied off some imported mats I think but they now curve around all the floor bulges and the drivers one has the hole for the clip. The rear cargo didn't go up the back of the seat as they couldn't work out how to hold it there. I didn't want the metal clamps I have seen on the JDM mats so I left mine as only the floor. Edit: I did tell them they could drape it over the top and have the headrest bars go through it, they could possibly do that if you wanted but I would have to go and get my car remeasured for you.
  21. The issue as I found out wasn't the motor, it was the turbo. He didn't want to push the compressor any further. If I change up he will be fine to push a bit more out of it. Although he doesn't think the gearbox will last. lol.
  22. Damn, I cant see the m.evolution links as Avast antivirus detected malware. lol. Can you quote the important posts perhaps Lithium, like the graphs?
  23. When it comes time you need a hand I will be sure to remember. looool. If you describe the noise as something being hit inside the engine it sounds more like bottom end to me, especially as you said "Whenever I step on the accelerator." I bought the engine for $100 so I'm sure its the cheapest option by a long shot (regardless of the fault as the buckets in these are a pain to do.) but perhaps its best to take it to a mechanic that's never worked on a VQ before...
