  1. What load rating did he end up putting on it?
  2. For under $10 just buy the ones Daleo linked to, the clips on our cars are old and brittle by now, I always have a few snap when I do work. The new ones are strong and reusable, always good to have a bag handy.
  3. It just looks a bit...(see pic) Its not the grill mate. Putting some mesh in the hole might fix it, so will painting it black though.
  4. There are only 4 bolts on the front diff but you have to lower the gearbox to slide it out. Want to drop down mate?
  5. Neither of those options will work long term, you need to remove the front prop shaft, from the transfer case to the front diff. I have been driving like that for the last few months.
  6. How much do you want for the steering rack Chad? I still need to grab that DD ecu off you too...
  7. Magnets on a float inside, with a reed switch outside?
  8. Cant you get BSA or another local fabricator to fab one? I guess you will need a new cat too, if you want to run one. I would help if you were down here, I always wanted to make a jig for GTR front pipes but I have never been asked to make one. I guess there are too many brand name pipes getting around.
  9. If you can increase the amount of air the engine can ingest at that point I guess they wont surge as badly, or just slow the compressor down by reducing the exhaust velocity? I would expect timing, especially valve timing could play a part in fixing the issue.
  10. There is a restrictor in the solenoid hose, is it there still? You could be bleeding more air off than you should.
  11. You're right, I would have never thought I would be running 1000's at over 70% 3 years ago, I would have expected reduced fuel economy too and a crap idle to boot.
  12. Here is the 1000's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-SVedHdBAs&feature=relmfu
  13. I expected more like the one on the left here.
  14. Holy crap thats a lot of fuel. lol. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvPAGzzI79w
  15. So not too bad at all. I just cant get my head around how this style of tip would spray effectively. Now i'm intrigued... I wonder if there are any spray tests on teh googletron...
  16. How was your light load fuel economy compared to the 800's?
  17. Did you get yours flow tested Paul? I would be very interested to see the spray pattern, especially at lower pressures. Perhaps that's another thing I can ask the distributor to help me with.
  18. I was put off by what they said, obviously. Especially losing the warranty. I had heard of all the good reviews on them from here, including yours Paul, and other searches I had done on them but at the end of the day you would usually go with what the professional in the injector trade suggests for your application.
  19. There is a big plate at the end, with jellybean gaps for the spray to come out, it doesn't look like any nozzle I have seen. The supplier mentioned there would be no warranty with them if I ran e85 as the rubber o ring wasn't compatible and also that they were primarily a natural gas injector. As they would certainly be in contact with Bosch I took them at their word and stayed with the 1000's. I will probably just run 12 x 1000cc injectors and make a custom plenum if I ever get around to building the VQ35det.
  20. Spotted today a silver m35 heading away from Frankston at the Dandy-Hastings roundabout. NSW plates.
  21. That's the first I have heard of issues, 8% would be a factory defect and certainly be replaced anyway but most people wouldn't check and shouldn't be expected to. Were they bought through the Aus distributor or off ebay? I don't particularly like the 2000's design but the 1000's have been great in my case and the other few cars I have seen running them. Same with the 750's. I may ask for a flow test on the next set I get as the supplier guarantees less than 2%, I figured there would be more variation in the fuel pressure to them than that 2% would affect on afr's.
  22. Sounds nice Alex, it's a much deeper note than mine.
  23. Having pulled one apart, there isnt much damage you could do by opening the butterfly and cleaning it. It will rev higher due to being cleaned though and the idle would have to be reset. If the ecu cant get the idle below 700 it wont set it so if there are any leaks (pcv, manifold, hoses) it will stay at high idle.
  24. Don't be so sure, they just machine the end, flow match them apparently and ship them out in sets. From the factory the Bosch ev14's are matched very well, no point importing ID's imo when the same product locally is so cheap and comes with warranty. Injectors online will send you a set of ev14's, they machine the tip onsite, I think so it clears multiple plenum installs. No issues with them here...
