  1. No miss here either, just feels a bit doughy at anything over 18:1. e85 ftw.
  2. Shhh, dont tell everyone my secretz. lol.
  3. Its the angle the BOV enters, not the bend that causes the stalling imo. It looked like a nice intake until you ditched the airbox.
  4. Since researching the build I was going to do, the 3.5L is looking weaker than ever. Nothing to do with capacity mate, my 2.5 can be sleeved out to 4.3L fairly easily. Just letting Simon know that a $1200 stock 3L engine will be much stronger than the 3.5 he is getting and will actually handle the power of twin TD05's. I made the same error, I have a 3.5 here I wont be using unless I can come up with 4-5k for a rebuild.
  5. It's a shame you bought the wrong VQ to turbo Simonster, the 3.5 has weak rods to help with the 8k rev limit, you will have to rebuild the sucker first unfortunately (unless you are happy with 4-5psi?) The factory turbo engines are the ones to go for, the VQ30det's are the cheapest option and with no adjustable cams they are the easiest to get running. I believe they may have Nistune working on the stock ecu too. This engine should be good for 400-450wkw unopened.
  6. It is esentially a consult unit, reverse engineered. I have been in communication with a few of the suppliers who all said it will work. The programmer is the part I'm not confident with.
  7. I would have grabbed one but it's over a grand for the unit with the programming Pc card. I would definitely buy the unit though. If anyone is interested in chucking in for the programming card let me know, I don't really need it otherwise.
  8. These apparently work, and there is an ecu programming card to use with it separately. Not cheap for a trial though although the seller said it will work with no problems. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/320755431427?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_3339wt_1392 Its a rip off of the Nissan Consult program from what I can work out...
  9. I would try cleaning the throttle plate, they gum up quite badly. You would possibly need to do an idle learn afterward. Its unusual that it does it sporadically, perhaps you should clean the AFM sensor too and check the plug for it is in tight. Are you running a paper air filter or a K+N?
  10. Did you wire the pump for direct battery voltage? If not grab a relay and install it using the original pump power to energize the relay. Walbro's don't like under-voltage at idle like the stock pump. There are plenty of "how too" threads on here for you to follow.
  11. If you are going to keep upsetting the owners of other models of stagea (eg M35 260) you will get more than a separate thread, believe me. What is your issue again? Nothing to get worked up about surely. *hugs*
  12. The OP's car is a 2000 rs... Other than having to hack up the AFM wiring it would probably work as intended on the VQ. Jetwreck should know, he's melted pistons before.
  13. What happens when the intake temp rises to say 80 or 100c one day? I guess a neo RB isn't too expensive to replace...
  14. I wish I could search for mods that have been done to death...
  15. Lol. I wish we had an M35 harsh thread close thread...
  16. Here here. Forever playing the father figure to the kids ay Dale. Ibtl.
  17. I finally got around to fitting the radiator fan shroud, not much left of the radiator mounting side as the radiator core is so big. Also re-installed the Mishimoto 62 degree thermostat while I was there. Hopefully no more overheating issues in traffic.
  18. Fronts are easy, rears you will have to adjust the handbrake shoes. Have you done that before?
  19. Did you think the ecu needs to see accurate temps by any chance, to keep the fuel mixture in check?
  20. I would love to know how well these Consult 3 knockoff units work. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/150581213683?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_2911wt_1360
  21. I cut it up to modify it but I need another turbo to jig it up, then the exhaust/wastegate would have to be redone. I just want to bolt a rear on this kit for now so I will have to buy another. If I could take off at good boost he wouldn't have had a chance. Next time...
  22. Personally I would like boost to hit no later than 4k which a smaller rear may help you to, with e85 the exhaust temps wont be as high for the same boost, so you can get away with more pressure in the manifold imo. If you are happy with the tune the way it is and just want power gains then just drop the injectors in and see what it can do. Your tuner will be able to lean on the boost and see where it stops gaining torque, who are you taking it to?
  23. ^ I agree the turbo is too big if you want response, what rear housing is on it btw? You could possibly hit 350kw with e85 and the current turbo, but it wont spool any better than it does now unless you drop the turbine housing AR. Do you have a dyno graph handy?
  24. Price is in for the Tial rear, $505 for just the housing to my door. Hopefully there is someone looking for the 1.06 and I can get rid of it.
