  1. At least women will be able to vote there soon, if they walk to the polling booth.
  2. With the 7psi actuator its hard to run any more than that, even with a controller. You may get 20psi midrange but it will always drop to around 15 by redline without increasing the spring tension on the wastegate. The exhaust manifold pressure literally blows the wastegate puck open on boost bypassing the turbo hence welding a stiff spring to the actuator to hold it better. All the stock turbo failures I have seen have been due to oil starvation/heat on the rear bearing as Dale mentioned.
  3. My banjo restrictor wasn't drilled but I cleaned it out, ran 19-20psi on the stocker for over 4 months with no issues. Our stock 14psi boost would be too much for the older RB series ceramic turbos.
  4. More than likely the passenger side rocker gasket, the blue oil is common too, the pcv valve dumps oil in the middle two intake runners.
  5. We don't get much of a choice down here with the one intake mod rule. Most of the intakes I make are for stock airboxes to keep the engine bay looking standard. Police in Melbourne seem to hate pod filters with a passion and will treat you like a criminal even though pods do exactly the same job. I don't understand it, they should be checking your cat isn't collapsed or your o2 sensor is oscillating correctly if they really cared about your emissions.
  6. I have made a few custom intakes Ron, cant help much from down here though. I fitted a Hypergear turbo the other day, I seem to remember it needing a new drain pipe, intake, heat shield, and I had to clock the CHRA around 15 degrees so the oil drain was vertical before the water lines would line up. Make sure you put something over the drain so nothing falls down into the oil while you work, its common for coolant to drip in from the turbo as you remove it. The oil line seems a bit long too, could do with 2 inches or more being removed if it wasn't crimped.
  7. I dont know how its Stao's fault. lol. If it spiked at the top end it would be a different story. Perhaps you should sort out your boost control issues before defaming a business.
  8. Ouch. I don't think the turbo builder is responsible for your low figure, what went wrong with the tune for you to stop at 14psi? I have used both the turbosmart and turbotech regs, the turbotech has a larger bleed hole which can make it hard to control high boost, as Wolverine found.
  9. 14psi, lol. Crank some boost into it...
  10. Its in cold start mode, the sensor sees -20 degrees or whatever and tries to compensate. Bring it around for a look mate.
  11. I have plans to track mine, and at nearly 3 times the stock power I was a little worried. Now I have the sandwich plate fitted with temp and pressure sensors, I can see stable temps on the road but give it a squirt and they shoot up.
  12. I don't think it's required, even for track work, but I would be keeping an eye on the temps...
  13. I have the v35 17's and they fit over my Brembos nicely, cheap rims too.
  14. I am running an oil cooler Ryan. What do you want to know?
  15. Its fine if they balance the disk afterwards.
  16. The XD-16 is discontinued, shame they didnt test the LC1 but I would assume it would be just as accurate from the comparisons I have done. Lol @ PLX and NGK, + or - 1.0 afr...
  17. I always thought the stocker would make a great twin setup but no room.
  18. Compressor housing - A/R 0.60 Compressor Inducer - 46.5mm Exducer - 60mm Turbine Inducer - 51mm Exducer - 42.4mm I have no idea what the rear A/R is, probably around .6 also.
  19. R34 transfer case should work fine for the rest of us Alex. Hopefully I will have some of the parts soon to start looking into the r34 Getrag option, namely spare bell housing. Next is to find all the interior parts cheap and see if the box fits.
  20. Not too good I'm guessing, especially if you are running higher boost than stock. I can measure the inducer/ exducer diameters tonight if you need them but it will only give you a theoretical best case efficiency
  21. Specs? What do you want to know? Its an oem Nissan bb turbo with a ceramic turbine wheel. The only similar one I have seen is off the vq30det.
  22. I use a service station type nozzle and simply pressurize the drum with compressed air to around 20psi.
