  1. Yep, I have the Transgo one fitted, upgrading the valve body. I also had major slippage so the clutches were upgraded with a full rebuild and high stall converter. It was the first one they had done like it, they had to laser cut the thinner steel plates to fit a few more clutch plates in. It cost $4000 all up around 2 years ago. Now you can probably get it done for half that. It should handle a fair bit but I am aiming at 350-400awkw through it at perhaps 1400nm and no-one can tell me if it will let go. There aren't that many performance parts out there yet for the RE5 but they are coming.
  2. LOL. Anyway, I decided not to put a switch for now as it seems to be fine. At worst you would only have to turn the car off for a second to reset it anyway. The high stall converter is the key here though, I could never get it onto stall before with the highflow so it would always be a slug off the line, even worse than stock because I had no push from the converter (because it wasn't coupling yet) Now I can so it will make living with the GTX turbo much more bearable.
  3. What was the resistance you used Dunc?
  4. Put it this way, I have surpassed the performance of the RS6 Wagon, great handling and nice modern interior for a quarter of the cost of the Audi. (That's my pick if I had the cash.) No plod have ever shown interest in it either, just the way I like it.
  5. It should say on the chassis plate in the engine bay.
  6. You are talking about a stock family wagon, of course it wont have race suspension under it but there are plenty of options if you want a firmer ride. Stock they are just a wagon. Most of us look to upgrade to coilovers and stiffer sway bars. The brakes can be upgraded very easily, the power/torque can nearly be tripled without opening the engine and with just a highflow turbo. They can be as sporty as you want them to be, certainly not Territory cumbersome but not light either as they weigh around 1800kg.
  7. ARX? Jacked up 4wd spec with LSD and wobbly wheels.
  8. Yeh, not sure on the direct injection. You wont be able to source a turbo anything like the Stagea one, lots of fabrication with bugger all room. Better to go stock unless you can get the work done for nothing.
  9. 300kw and you're excited about a wheel chirp. lol. Was it wet?
  10. It definitely feel its much more responsive and the hesitation it had sometimes coming out of corners is gone. There must be a delay on that wire I cut to stop the throttle opening. Bloody Mr Nissan.
  11. Ok, makes sense. At least now he can tune it properly as the damn throttle opens now, a little lean off boost should be ok and help it spool I guess. Better call Cihan later.
  12. What are your thoughts, I guess it makes bugger all difference to your every day driving, unless you want to stall it up right?
  13. Yup. Don't worry Aaron, I have faith in my dodgy mods. lol.
  14. Seriously, in Melbourne it should be mandatory to have a smear on your windscreen. Any motorcyclist will sing its praises as you don't have windscreen wipers on your lid. It works better the more rain and the darker it gets. Re-apply weekly for best results I have found. It should be a defect to not use it. At least that law would make sense.
  15. Are you going to be right to twist the wires together if it goes into limp mode tomorrow Craig? Or just restart the car I guess. Let us know how it goes mate.
  16. If you could find a nice clear piece of 3 inch pipe to clamp to the throttle, you may be able to see it. The throttle opens to 100% in neutral and park, also without the wiring mod. (that was the other path I was going to work down if the snip didn't fix it.)
  17. Perhaps someone should put some mesh behind the throttle and shove one of those bullet video cameras in the bov pipe.
  18. Even if it is 86% it wont make any difference to the power output, we have a massive throttle anyway. It may be done on purpose to swirl the air in the plenum. Remember that the minimum voltage wont be 0v either. It is just the range of resistance the TPS gives.
  19. First Andy, try this out. With your foot off the brake for a few seconds, try and launch. Does the throttle go straight to 100%? If it doesn't, unplug the throttle body for a few seconds and try it again. Mine definitely goes full throttle from a standing start without the wiring mod. Then snip snip.
  20. Two settings, Firm and Bugger me! Go hard or go home?
  21. The Emanage doesn't get any speed data as its CAN line data. Even a momentary pulse when you put your foot on the brake would do, only if needed.
  22. Rainex... Just sayn.
  23. Its the 5 speed auto most of us have. There are a few valve body kits floating around for them but most good automatics places will have worked on them and made their own parts (for Nissan Patrol rock crawlers.)
  24. I seem to remember somewhere way back I read (perhaps in the G35 manual) that if the ecu doesn't get the brake signal for a while it goes into throttle limp, not sure but keep it in mind if you do attempt it.
  25. Dooooeeettttt. lol. 1000% better with the high stall.
