  1. Craigs takes off much better now.
  2. If you want to try it, its pin 55 on the ecu. Its a pink wire with a blue line.(around the middle of the plug.) Just make sure you tape up both snipped ends well. (Dont hold me responsible if you damage anything please.) lol.
  3. Try www.Injectorsonline.com they are in Melbourne and can do their modified and flowmatched 1000cc 3/4 length 14mm Bosch/ID's for around $700. They idle perfectly in my car. Otherwise they do the usual Deka 610's pretty cheap too. Ask them if they will price match, you may be surprised.
  4. Sort of worked... Aaron and I went for a squirt today, he looked at the gauges while I drove. We found my ecu definitely opens the throttle 100% at launch, but only if the brake was off for a second or two beforehand. I looked at the ECU diagram and found the brake pedal input wire, not knowing if it would put the car in limp mode or if the brake lights would work, I snipped the wire and backed the car out. The brake lights worked, and now I had 100% throttle at stall. A drive told me the abs still operated and the takeoff was much better, with the car hitting the 4000 rpm stall limit off the line with little effort. I will let you know how the car drives over the next few days and if there are any side effects but for now it looks like Pipster pointed us toward the holy grail.
  5. A shift kit for the auto is easy enough if you have the RE5, mine is handling tripple the stock torque. There are a few places I could recommend in Melbourne but I don't know of any up in new south sorry.
  6. A dodgy servo pump is enough to push you back onto 98? You had better not go to Springvale then. I heard CSR had over 1 million litres stockpiled less than a year ago, I doubt they went through it that quick. Caltex would have a contract to supply Eflex so I doubt they will let it run out, surely they will just order it from overseas if Australian suppliers run out.
  7. Better hurry Iain, someone else may stack their car before then. lol.
  8. VQ's have twin TPS signals, 0-5v and 5-0v. The 36% at stall opening is the big issue, not the 86% once it opens.
  9. I thought I already put a deposit on that engine?
  10. Response yes, power? Don't you think its getting a bit old now Iain?
  11. I assumed it would be that simple but aren't there multiple wires going into the plug? Could you get a pic of what they did please?
  12. The HKS one should work at least but I wouldn't recommend cutting the CAN line to install it, all your speed data goes down the CAN line, there is no speed signal wire going to the ecu to bend. Just get an aftermarket ecu from Japan.
  13. Should be interesting to see it all installed as it certainly isn't a kit. Are you a fabricator? The best bet would be the HKS 3037 kit if you can still find one. Or here is the Greddy twin kit: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GReddy-Tuner-Twin-Turbo-Kit-Nissan-350Z-VQ35DE-TD06-20G-/200604249034?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2eb4f1ebca#ht_5005wt_905 You will need to build the engine with forged parts to run more than 5 or 6 psi safely though.
  14. The oil takes about twice as long as the water to warm up, around 2-3 minutes by my informeter. Oh, and ethanol would be much better at cleaning carbon deposits than gas.
  15. I need the car at the moment to make a pipe up. I can make a jig off the next 34 that comes in though as I have been asked by a few interstate skyline owners now. Is the airbox/afm in the same position on the 33 also?
  16. I have some spare VQ25det manifolds here, and you could perhaps find a spare VQ25det or VQ30det turbo floating about in Japan to straight bolt up? How would you tune in the extra fuel though?
  17. Electronic throttle as in "drive by wire".
  18. What if you flat spotted a tyre and just changed it? Stupid law. Back on P's? Hahaha. We are all being taken for a ride.
  19. Already told you that didn't I?
  20. You would need an aftermarket p1ggyback computer to adjust fuel and timing, and a tuner to adjust them accurately on a dyno. Unfortunately the VQ series engines don't respond well to adjustments and just revert back in most cases. Your best bet would be the HKS F-con V pro but im not sure how well it will work with your gearbox.
  21. The electronic throttle closes as if you backed off to hold that speed. Very accurate too, every pass I did at Calder was 171kph by their measurement. The maximum throttle opening I have seen with the Stagea is 86%, at launch it bogs down because the throttle is limited to 36%.
  22. Electronics, yes. Programming? Noooooo. I would say, seeing the Nismo uses the stock chip and the aftermarket programs seem to have a p1ggybacked board, that the chip is locked.
  23. I bet it looks just like mine. lol. I did it in Aarons driveway in half an hour, I never took the wheel off and the missus says my hands are huge. The indicator/wiper stalks just unplug. Genius Mr. Nissan.
  24. Its like traction control, but all the time. In first gear, under 30kph it limits the throttle to 36% which is fine with the stock turbo, although you wont ever be spinning tyres at launch. It becomes an issue when you highflow the turbo as they require more airflow to spool.
