  1. But then you need to muck around with cutting the spacers down. Has anyone actually had any issues with the 3/4 length, or is it all hearsay? I have sold quite a few 3/4 sets with rail kits over the last 6 months and have had no complaints as yet. I really need to get an old 33 manifold and do a trial install for myself, I have only done Neo installs so far.
  2. For $185 they are hard to beat, and the new turbine design is nearly silent.
  3. I think you need to do some research on Nissan turbo's, before your turbine wheel ends up in the dump pipe.
  4. Reco of the stock core would be pointless as you still have the old ceramic turbine. Swap that crap out for a steel wheel so you can safely wind the boost up.
  5. Mechanics... GL buddy.
  6. I guess Nissan like them because they work. You don't want to muck around with the cooling system too much, these VQ25's are a pain to do head gaskets on.
  7. A rebuild kit you say, I don't think you will find that locally, but they are available in Japan as I have seen S/H turbo's come in with new ceramic turbines. I think a Hypergear highflow would be your best bet. The gaskets are pretty reliable, and rarely make noise. Most likely the rear wheel has fallen off into the cat. Pressure test the intake before you try dropping the dump pipe, it's a biatch.
  8. I will never lend random Tatrix cables again, especially to drivers with flat batteries. VP front end conversion? Haha. Good day for it, shame I didn't have the car ready but it was oversubscribed already. Hopefully the yellow Evo will be track ready in time for the next track day.
  9. Getting defected was the stupid part, changing the whole loom over is just madness. As you are putting an older engine in there than what it came with, you are just setting yourself up for another defect. AMIRIGHT?
  10. Well something has changed, and it is most probably a leak. Pressure testing the intake is easier than making a post describing the most common problem on any turbo car.
  11. Sounds like the injector voltage offset is set wrong, the injectors take longer to open as the voltage drops. It would be a simple tweak for your tuner to sort out I assume.
  12. I like that Radium review, Thanks Tim. I can't see a Walbro 255 being noisier than a Bosch pump though, perhaps the 044's get noisier over time? It wouldn't help that most are externally mounted I guess.
  13. I still don't understand where this "common fault" crap came from, I have never seen worn cam chains/sprockets, only broken components.
  14. Atmo BOV won't be helping things, it needs to be plumbed back into the intake, but your intake is all silicone...
  15. As said, you may need to play around with the volume to get a smooth signal, as averaging it with software will probably cause a delay in response similar to having a large volume. I make these manifolds myself using brass fittings and an offcut of alloy plate.
  16. I had a couple fail on e85 builds, and the warranty process is farked. Now I just stick to e85 Walbro's as they are cheap ($185) and they work flawlessly. (Unless you try and run water through them ) The e85 Walbro uses turbine tech, not gear pump. They are silent.
  17. I run twin Walbro 255's, less current draw than the e85 pump and more flow. Still I had to upgrade the tank lid for the extra current draw and flow requirements. I ran twin feed lines, one to each rail on the VQ. For 400+kw intank, single pump, the e85 Walbro is probably your best option, but you may have to re-pin the plug at a minimum. I have had issues with the DW pumps on ethanol, and will never use one again.
  18. What you have done can never be legal, but you obviously know that. While it can possibly be done, it sounds like a real nightmare of wiring. Not sure I would like to attempt it myself, and I have wired in countless ecu's. You are looking for an Auto elec, an electrician will only want to fit power points in your house.
  19. Don't bother trying the lightweight smurfs blood, it seems to melt into sludge under the syncro rings requiring a teardown to get rid of it. Plain light gearbox oil for me.
  20. Get rid of that split dump first, everything else should support twice the power. Once you have run that up, if you are still not happy, you may need an external gate off an external rear housing to push much further. Don't go to the smaller .63, you will be even more limited.
  21. Can you run a bleed line to a ball valve from the pipes causing the gurgle? It is just air trapped in the system somewhere.
  22. What's a good price?
  23. Why wouldn't you simply die grind the turbo inlet a little... The stock flange isn't T3 so why would it be the same?
  24. Wind it up a bit, and get it hot enough and the bottom bend will suck in.
