  1. Take the head off and hope it's just the head gasket.
  2. I have seen this many times lately, if you can't feel the force of the spring as you push it down, the cap is too short. Get a new one that sits a little further into the radiator.
  3. Just change the plugs, good chance they are flogged, or the previous owner skimped on them. Gives you a good chance to clean the coilpacks and check the rocker gasket isn't leaking into the plug tubes.
  4. It was a few years ago. The supplier I went through freaked when I told him the boost I wanted to run, and said only the Tomei would be anywhere near strong enough. I just laughed and told him my stock VQ is taking 30psi like a boss.
  5. Turbo selection for track work can be hit and miss, you will need a larger rear housing to reduce exhaust temps at the very least. Are you considering e85? That will also change your turbo selection for 300kw.
  6. Untuned... Smokes tyres... Those two should never be in the same paragraph. You got injectors yet? I haven't heard from you for a quote mate... The Xspurt 1000's are on special at the moment.
  7. ^^ This. I changed from Bendix crap to QFM A1RM's and noticed the 8 piston Ksports came to life.
  8. Of course, the sensor or wiring could be stuffed, but usually that sort of thing throws a code. If you were local I could plug the consult into it and check the in cabin temp is correct, that would at least tell you the sensor is fine or not.
  9. Since i am planning to run 30-40psi in the 4g63, I was told the cometic that came in the gasket kit wouldn't be up to the task, only the Tomei was recommended.
  10. Any brand will work fine, some just last longer than others. I still believe you are better off using a cheaper ($50) oil and changing it every 5k rather than spending twice that and trying to string your changes out to 15k.
  11. It could just need a service, the filter could be blocked or something equally as simple to fix. Why give up without dropping the pan and replacing some fluid at least. Do you have the actual code? It should point you in the right direction at least. Even if a solenoid is gone, it isn't hard to swap a valve body over, much easier than dropping a box...
  12. You can't clean injectors in the car very easily, and some have filters inside which require them to be backflushed. If you were at all worried about them you will need to get them on a flow bench to rule them out. So when are you looking at the intake?
  13. Why would you need to rethread it? Is the thread damaged? Just get a new fitting in it once you easy-out the old part from the cap. What brand is it? Araldite won't last 2 minutes.
  14. Yep, just remove the resistor, twist all the wires together and solder/tape for modern 14mm injectors. I have to do the same thing to my evo7 this week to fit the new Stainless Delphi 1400's.
  15. So you are looking in the US? I hope it isn't an aftermarket one... You can find the OEM dual din locally in the base model M35 stagea also.
  16. No, the Nismo works on the stock system because it is designed to run on low voltage, and not draw too much current for the stock wiring when doing so. Try running a Walbro 255 on stock cruise voltages and you will find it doesn't last very long. Personally I run twin 255's for that very reason, more flow for less current, but they are not ethanol rated. These days I would be dropping an e85 460 in, as I am doing to my evo this week. Running the stock pump with an inline after it is a good idea, but you would need to match the sizes of the pumps. No way a little 20 year old oem stock pump will flow enough to keep up with a decent inline, and that would cause all sorts of problems.
  17. I can supply s/h parts or a complete engine. Where are you located Phil? Sounds like you have been ripped so far, I could help if you were local.
  18. The Bosch ev14's I sell drop straight into the stock rail with adapters, but you are US correct?
  19. Will have 40mm longer shocks.
  20. Have you, or are you planning to direct wire the pump through a relay? The stock wiring won't support the Walbro.
  21. No worries. There is a 'howto' on here somewhere.
  22. ^^ This. The rears won't fit either, just stick with the twin pot sumitomos at the rear.
  23. And works with the factory fpcm, but I don't think Mafia needs that.
  24. The ethanol version of the Walbro is absolutely silent, quieter than the Nismo/Tomei pumps. It uses a turbine vane, not an oil pump style gear type of old. If you want ethanol compatibility there is only one choice, that said, you may get many years out of the Nismo. Personally I would sell the Nismo off and buy the 460 Walbro, and pocket the change.
  25. I will say it first, don't bother. Just buy a turbo one. This is the section you need if you are planning an NA+t. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/forum/53-naturally-aspirated-performance/
