  1. It seems logical to most of us, and has so for a year or more. There are only so many times you can tell someone... Perhaps you should change the o2, and the engine, and then the whole car... Hey that would fix it Ron.
  2. Most likely the AFM is the cause. Cut the lid open and re-solder the dry joints on the connector pins.
  3. I will be upgrading mine soon I would say. What is it that actually lets go with regards to the rear diff, and at what power are issues usually found? Where would I find a decent 7rs LSD?
  4. Inb4 throttle relearn thread.
  5. Ebay Vil, they are cheap as chips.
  6. GTX3071 and 30+psi on e85. Externally gated.
  7. Could have something to do with it, except the sensor for the dash is different to the ecu temp sensor. It leads me to the conclusion the power to the sensors may be shorting or have a bad connection somewhere.
  8. I have made many beautiful intakes, some of which were fail. It takes a fair imagination to design a perfect intake in your head and have it work first time off the bat. Bov returns are the hardest to get right, and they change with some bov's and setups, also depending on the boost you run. I would be asking for the fabricator's details, as it's in his best interests to get it right and learn from his mistakes. Otherwise I can send you one of my intakes to try out...
  9. You are banned from entering Simon. If the evo was tuned I would be booked in already. Seems our WRX organiser is also my new LiquiMoly rep. He was keen to see the yellow peril on the track. Perhaps Rexmas...
  10. * And a little bit of fairy dust. I like my bearings robust thanks.
  11. You keep talking about major changes that will require retuning, when all you probably need is to angle the bov return a little towards the compressor. Did the fabricator say he would stab you if you changed it? Why haven't you looked at it after the 100's of times it's been suggested?
  12. No, if you disconnect the bov return and vent it, the car will run rich and do the same thing. Put the stock intake on?
  13. That entry is not pointing at the compressor wheel, half the returned air wants to go back up the intake, through the afm, which will be the cells you are seeing jump. Simply blocking off the bov won't stop this happening, as the boost will escape back through the turbo compressor, essentially doing the same thing.
  14. Only 2 do the main ecu tuning work though, and all can be easily tested on the Consult 3.
  15. This ^^ I think we discussed this already, about a year ago... And I gave up on it. AFM's can read up to 1 volt of reverse flow. What I don't understand is how the tuner can't work out what's going on...
  16. Is Artz new jerb near you? He has a ute... Otherwise, I can't fit too many pallets in the stagea, and not even a chair in the back of the evo. lol.
  17. Paul, I need some more pallets, out of fire wood... can't stop shivering... Time to drive around your factory estate again.
  18. There are usually tell tale signs of engine damage, knocking, ticking, usually noises that come from high mileage or poorly serviced engines. If it all sounds good and you have fresh oil in it, why not lean on it until it blows, then buy a new engine if you need one.
  19. Changing your good engine to get around buying a decent turbo seems somehow backwards...
  20. I would suspect the turbo is about to let go.
  21. Yep, that's mine. I bought it cheap, with a blown engine, number one piston was hitting the head. I was hoping to turn it into my track biach, as the Stagea auto box hates the track. There is a set of AO48's in the shed waiting to go on it.
  22. Built by Barry at Edge motorworks. Top bloke, and has built many strong engines over the years. It's an 800hp Manley 2.3 kit, Hypergear custom billet SS2 with reverse rotation, HKS cams etc. Should make good power, just not yet. Its rough tuned on 8psi at the moment, but we will see what it makes once a few goodies are fitted and I fab an exhaust for it.
  23. Bit of a scare tactic I think, to drum up government incentives. I thought we worked out that plant is old and inefficient anyway, bring on solar distillation plants I say, then there will be no sooking about it's green fuel status. Should bring costs down too, not that we would see it at the pump.
