  1. Mine didn't change power much between different gears, only the torque went through the roof.
  2. The largest variations I have seen relate to not strapping the car down hard enough, roller dynos require down force to stop wheel slip on the rollers.
  3. One of mine snapped and damaged the roof as I closed the rear door. The other side snapped as I undid it to replace the ball.
  4. Mine is a Taiwanese stainless Tial copy, still going fine after 4 years wrapped in a beanie. They are a lot thinner than a cast iron housing. I doubt either will crack or warp just from the beanie, perhaps if the exhaust is hanging off it with no flex joint like most of you run your systems.
  5. There are much better pump options these days.
  6. Mmm, I've done 6 track days with my Garret pushing 40psi up the straight... Why not flog a turbo hard? Perhaps we shouldn't be running turbo's at all, I mean it's just another part to fail right?
  7. I have one spare... A Tial 1.06 Vband in and out.
  8. And using the white wire loop at the back of the loom can be equally problematic. An old plug lead on coil pack one and disconnect the tps is the usual way so I am told.
  9. Perhaps they are damaging the coil with the drill bit? Seems very unusual they go open circuit... Just keep a few spares in the glovebox. lol
  10. I could easily spin one up from stainless or ally on the lathe, but I am sure they are available still somewhere... I would be welding an alloy replacement fitting on there.
  11. I can't wait, it's been 2 years and I am yet to drive it. Hopefully the transfer case lasts the drive home at least.
  12. Looks like the perfect heat range too. Just slap a new set in and change them at another 15 thou. For the price I would probably do them every 10.
  13. I have a 30 row oil cooler with a 14 inch thermo that switches in automatically at 80c, I also run the stock water to oil cooler. Most of the time my oil sits around 70 - 80c, even in winter, but I still got the oil up to 140 odd at Sandown on a 30 degree day, after only 3 laps. The water was at 145 though, I probably should have turned the boost down.
  14. Put a mesh 40 micron on there, all the blocked ones I have seen lately have been Ryco style paper ones. Never had an issue with stainless mesh filters.
  15. I have installed them on quite a few cars lately, they idle fine as you would expect from a modern injector, no issues at all with them.
  16. The beanies work very well, you can touch the beanie after a run, not something I would try with the ceramic coat.
  17. The pair was $80 when I had them done a few months back. Definitely change the ball on the body, I have snapped two now, friggin pita to drill and re-tap.
  18. The stock exhaust will be pushed hard, 2.3 Manley stroker, HKS step 2 cams with adj wheels, the rest is as factory. It's the most un-defectable car it will ever be, for a few weeks at least. If I can squeeze 250kw out of it I will be impressed. That will do me while the engine is run in.
  19. Exactly right. With a good bead any clamp is fine. Proven by me at over 3 bar with a very hot engine.
  20. Gregs one did ok on his RB28, my old flogged GTX3076 managed 380kw on his auto with a stock engine bay, externally gated .82 Kando housing. Surely there is an easy 450kw in it with the right setup (1.06 rear) in a manual. I think with the larger housing it would be perfect for a 30.
  21. Why wouldn't you run a dedicated earth back to the battery though, while you run the positive?
  22. I hope those Siemen's are better than the ones I used to run... I would hate for you to have issues with another set of injectors to save $10ea Johnny. I just picked up a set of stainless 1400's for my evo 7 today, we are tuning the reverse rotation SS2 Hypergear evo highflow on the weekend, stock exhaust, intake and cooler for the engine run in. Should be interesting.
  23. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge on it? Could it just be the filter is blocked? I have seen that cause too many times recently.
  24. I want some of the drugs you have been prescribed.
