  1. The most satisfying noise in the world... hearing the top bolt of an rb gearbox crack.
  2. Have another request if someone has it. Im having trouble getting the very top bolt on the gearbox so im in need of a very long 1/2" extension bar or similar to get at it
  3. Changing the clutch in the 33 so it will need to go pretty high, something like 40cm minimum i guess. I live in Fig Tree Pocket, I can come pick it up from who ever lives closest.
  4. Anyone have a big car jack i could use for a few days?? Have to change the clutch in the skyline.
  5. Havn't had an update in awhile, so I think its time. I have pretty much finished off all of the interior to where I want it for now, will shed some more weight later on down the track but all of the hard work is done. Using a heat gun rag and some turps I removed all of the little bits of soundeadening and glue. Didnt bother to weight how much I got out but it was worth it. Have deleted the rear windscreen wiper and have bunged it up, all the wires and connections are in just have to tie them down and give it a cleaner look. Interior is pretty much complete, put the carpet back in but stripped all of the underside padding off of it, also got rid of aircon pipes and a few other little bits and pieces. Next thing to strip is the doors, I cant do a lot with them except for speaker removal and some un-needed material. Will finish that tonight and get ready to drop the gearbox tomorrow and start to install the new clutch. Also.. really want to buy some aftermarket seats as the stock ones are heavvvvy
  6. Buy a dirt cheap turbo 33, steal all of the goodies off of it, like diff brakes, engine upgrade for later, gearbox etc,and what ever else it has that would benefit you and then sell off the rest of the parts. You can easily buy one for a lot less than 6k
  7. Reading forums, start doing some DIY's, the internet has info on pretty much everything you can do to a car, just read up on stuff then attempt it yourself with trial and error. If you get stuck go bug a mechanic or a friend on the know. Just get into it...
  8. Update from Tues: Finally got a good two days of work in, have cleaned the back of the car and prepped it for a few layers of paint. Got a friend to come around and do a quality spray can job I'm too impatient to wait for paint and try to do 4 coats in 1. Put down 3 layers of matte white, just enough to give it a solid color. Final Result Very happy with the final result, now its time to start putting things back together once I've cleaned up a few more things. Have had a few goodies turn up in the mail this week also Exedy Heavy duty clutch, modified by NPC. Adjustable Exhaust cam gear Z32 Ecu Doing an engine swap on a friends car at the moment, so progress will slow once again. Thanks, Joel
  9. Havn't done a lot over the past week, have been helping out flood victims.
  10. If anyone needs a hand clearing out a house I can give a hand all day tomorrow. Spent all day cleaning out some randoms house in Fig Tree Pocket, will go back their tomorrow if no one here needs a hand.
  11. You have to buy an ecu out of a z32 and modify it a bit, put the nistune in and then it will work with the rb25's. Another option is to use an r32 ecu with the nistune, but then you lose the VCT.
  12. http://www.nistune.com/ tried their website
  13. I would allow for around $800-1000 installed and tuned
  14. I have a general idea, but my thoughts tend to wander and I change my plans quite alot. For now it will be aimed at track days and eventually some time attack... will just go with the flow. Didnt get much done over the weekend, but clean out the interior of the car and do some research on what can stay and what can go.
  15. Get an r32 non turbo rolling shell and drop an r33 Rb25de into it, get the best of both
  16. Update for today's work... Have started to deal with the sound deadening, ordered 12kg of dry ice at $4/kg and got to work. I attacked all of the horizontal surfaces and it worked a treat easily cracking and coming off. Once all of the horizontal surfaces were done I then moved onto the vertical surfaces with a heat gun and a chisel which is a much slower process but I eventually removed all of the sound deadening. A few bits of rust have appeared that will have to be dealt with but there is nothing major. Have started to clean all of the excess residue with some turps and a rag... seems to be doing the job. Sorry for the crap quality photos... using a camera phone and its in the dark.
  17. I hear it makes things worse. It ruins the air distribution to each cylinder as the inlets are not tapered like a proper aftermarket system.
  18. Only modification is soldering in the chip, pretty sure its just a straight swap using the same ecu plug.
  19. Will be there if other are going.
  20. Give some workshops a call in the mourning and hope one of them has some spare time.
  21. I have the exact system that your looking to get have these extractors http://www.dkne.com.au/nissan-skyline-r34r33r32-rb25-p-415.html with 2.5" mildsteel piping, 250 cell cat, hotdog resonator and the varex cannon. Tbh i quite like the sound except for the top end where i think the valve vibrates, you can hear it in this video. When the exhaust is closed you pretty much cant even hear the exhaust it is so quiet, great for highway driving. The varex muffler is much better than the previous no name cannon that was on there, it has pretty much eliminated the raspy noise and has given it a deeper idle.
  22. If you want to keep the VCT you have to go with the z32 ecu.
