Feels tune-y. But nothing should have changed after replacing a fuel tank.

What tyres? None, there's no way they're fitting on a stock guarded R34 GTT. None. NONE. Mount the rim once, laugh, and put up for sale.

Actualy I have to admit that, as much as I wanted to hang s*** on the Commodores or Falcons, if they got surprised by a 450kw auto 4 door sedan there were ALWAYS massive thumbs up out the sides of windows and such, on the rare occasion this occured on a private road etc. But yeah, Prinny is literally made for XR6T's. What?
-
Can confirm living in Glen Waverley, hondas and other P plate cars (86's oh god 86's everywhere) still around droning everywhere which makes me happy. You'd have to expect HWY to be dominated by XR6T's, I mean think about it it's a cheap readily available 4L turbo which is pretty terrible at anything that isn't pulls from 80kmh. Not going to find one of them at the top of a mountain of your choice.

I may actually be interested in the harness if no one else is, the one I have has to be entirely unwound to fit through the slots in my current seats, which is a slight bit annoying as I don't see myself changing my seats to fit the harness I currently have.
-
I don't know this, honestly - But is there any data on just how often 90's Nissans or corollas or whatever else is considered "reliable" and how often they were recalled/fixed under warranty etc? It may very well have changed, but just going through daily society in the office carpark I see many euros, and the opinions of people who own them don't exactly scream "I wish I didn't buy this euro" or "I'll never do that again" etc.
-
Are there actually any real horror stories regarding modernish Euros anyway? They all seem to be motoring along, at least at the same rate as any other car their age. I mean my little french baguette is honestly easier to work on than the R34 is and everything seems in pretty good nick for its relative age. At least nothing obviously out of the ordinary. Given they all have german electrics now, I'd wager your golf/polo/whatever is likely similar.
-
Why not a golf/polo exactly? Do you not want an answer to your question lol Sometimes things are popular because actually good/fit for purpose
-
Megane or Clio will beat all of the above. But cause car racist, get a polo GTI, the older manual only ones. Cheap, clean, nice, worse than a Megane in every way (cross shopped both) but perfectly OK for daily duties. https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Volkswagen-Polo-2006/SSE-AD-5563666/?Cr=4 Comes pre-modded for your enjoyment. Technically not a golf.

The FWD you are scared of is not the FWD you should be scared of. I suggest my Renault Megane lol. Confirmed good enough on the twisties to have to pull over and have gf throw up by the side of the road at reefton spur. But for reals, the answer to this one is "fun hot hatch of any make" x1000000000

https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=265&aspect=35&diameter=18&wheelwidth=10&offset=38&width2=265&aspect2=35&wheel_size=18&wheel_width=10-5&offset2=25 According to this, it'd be 6.8mm closer to the suspension Strut. Note, did say 10 +38, not 10.5 +38. I had a 9.5 +27 on the back so I obviously had much more room on both sides.

Chris' R34 GTT Series 2
Kinkstaah replied to hoodedreeper's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Never did I think I'd say this about livery on a skyline, but that looks fantastic! -
Your idea of 'fit' is different to others (and different to mine, which is also different to others) 10 +38 is a relatively common size at the rear of the R34. With a square setup, the rear of the R34 pokes more than the front does, which was a surprise to me when I put on a square set of rims, or at least it did on my own car. Like all things - What do you want to do with the car? This will determine what kind of fitment you really want. Talking 225 on 10's means I'm not the best person to advise as I am a more 265 at the front on a 9in rim kind of guy. But making it fit is a question of maths and geometry really.
-
If i were you, and haven't yet picked those wheels up, do not pick those wheels up because those rears will not fit under any circumstances you can think of for the rear under stock quarters.
-
It *shouldn't* at least not.. really? The easiest way is to try it, but if you have a plastic tank radiator then stretching over a really tight hose may not be the best way to go about it. Just going by the picture you seem to be pretty on the money, I'd be chasing a new hose from someone like Kudos Motorsports who will absolutely get you the right hose.

Please verify quote by mechanic
Kinkstaah replied to jorgo90's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Having recently done this exact job, the parts quote is actually quite fair, the subframe bushes and diff mount bushes are quite expensive. The amount of labor to remove this from the car, do the job, refit the subframe to the car, it could quite easily be a days work. It may be slightly less than a days work, but you're talking between 8 hours and 6 hours depending on how amazing and determined the mechanic actually is, most people who do this swear they will never do the subframe bushes again and up their prices the next time. Maybe he has just done it before ? -
Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
Kinkstaah replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Its theoretically possible, but you need custom/different guards. No, you can't flare it to fit that much, not without getting them repainted etc etc. The cheapest way is to replace the guards. You're about 15mm too far out as it stands. I was able to fit a 9.5 +27 inside my R34 GTT guards. Sell and buy some different wheels. The LMGT2's do actually come in 18x9 +32. I would have bought a set of these but they don't clear my (much larger than OEM) brakes. http://www.importmonster.com.au/shop/product_info.php?products_id=2190&osCsid=e79e232cd40b61bcc04cab09633119d6 -
The easiest way is to get under the car and check and see re: cats. Yes, without a cat you know about it. If people following you get headaches in the hills, you have no cat. It is possible to have a really rich tune and have rear bar discoloration etc with a cat, so ideally you'd be checking both the tune and the state of your exhuast.

Wheel Sizes & Offsets For Skylines
Kinkstaah replied to Sydneykid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
You can't. What size are the rims? -
Above is the GTX3582 and below is the 7670. The 8374 is going to be bigger. The 3582 fit barely well enough on a damn stock RB25 manifold that it was too close for comfort to pretty much everything (hence going high mount, after!) Without knowing what car it is it all comes down to how much room you have and how much bigger it is than a R32/33/34 because its complete guesses either way. At least on a 34, a stock manifold which is about as compact as it gets was struggling with a 3582. Get the G Series, if ONLY for its compact size.

Bills 33 Gtst Streeter/track Car

Racechrono Pro is suprisingly OK to do this, all you really have to do is get the raw video (from any source) and get it onto your phone for the app to see it. You can then overlay them on top of one another to sync them up. Then Racechrono Pro will export the completed video to another file on your phone which you can then copy off and upload etc. Other than moving the file to/from your phone to actually merge them, it's quite intuitive to actually use -
Low mounting a 8374 is lol. It is a huge turbo, in the context of low mounting one in a RB. My 7670 was much, much, much larger than a GTX3582 and that was a squeeze to low mount. (The GTX3582, the 7670 low mounting was a non-option) The answer on low mounting a single nowdays would have to be the Garrett G series - They are much more compact for the power they put out. Definitely 100% without any doubt ever that is the turbo you want to get if for some reason you demand it to be low mounted.
