  1. There's many things to mod. We all like doing so and understand the fun in it. Just... the airbox is pretty much something you never need to do, essentially pretty much ever! Have fun installing the next bit on the modding adventure
  2. I have called around and got the info from someone (Kudos Motorsports) looking at FAST that the 33 GTST, 33 GTR, 34 GTR and 34 GTT are identical (as in they are the same part number). I was calling for a replacement fuel tank at the time. So magic 8 ball says "maybe".
  3. The panels sold! Below is what's left, will most likely make a new thread next time it's ready for bumping.
  4. Hi Folks, R34 OP6 turbo from what was a hilariously unmolested R34 (until I f**ked it badly), was going to keep it for Hiflow one day but entirely usable as-is! Note: Dump pipe in the picture is a lovely hiflow *something* that came connected to this car, which had a full 80mm Nismo Exhaust when I bought it. Was planning on keeping the dump for a rainy day but can include it if the price is right. Located Glen Waverley, VIC - $400 (neg)
  5. On the converse, I opted AGAINST a stock engine replacement and got it built, forged, rebuilt, rebuilt, rebuilt, broken, rebuilt, broken and rebuilt and haven't driven a car in anger for like 9 years because always off the road always broken. There is a lot of smarts in the "Stock engine, mild turbo upgrade, and spend time ENJOYING IT" path of the RB. These things are big toys. Enjoy actually playing with the f**king things.
  6. She was clearly just making light of her previous 'drama'. f*** sake, people
  7. ^---- pure example of Cunningham's law
  8. I quite like the ability to angrily drive a turbo import down a dirt road, especially if it's an evo. Keep the inside of the car clean, anything else is pure masturbation.
  9. I had a N/A once, then put a DET in and that was only the beginning. There's just way more little things between the NA and the DET that may or may not rear their ugly head or annoy you, things you thought were the same... just aren't. A bit of bracing here, slightly stronger doohickeys in the chassis, just... things The best and only mod for a GT is a GTT. It is the best bang for buck, and it is ultimately what anyone with a GT wants.
  10. It just seems strange, when you think about it, given the abuse of immigrants has been typically one-way (blaming them for existing and trying to stay alive) But this one is a real head scratcher indeed. Obviously you can't say WELL I GUESS IMMIGRATION DOESNT WORK BETTER CLOSE THE BORDERS! over it, but.. yeah..
  11. It says this in the actual thread here -> http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/442636-become-a-member-of-sau-vic/ This is where I went initially to find the pricing, then could have sworn I remembered a thread saying it went up from 50, to 60.. (this thread)
  12. So... it's time for me to renew. This post says 60 renew. (up from 50) But the actual membership says 70 to renew, and 80 for new members. How much is the current pricing?
  13. Never had a problem with a RB25DET neo or a R34 in general, you should consider getting another one
  14. Looks like older VW's, everything swaps into everything, engines, gearboxes, suspension, components work in all sorts of platforms, its like a lego car .....except rear-vision mirrors which have no info on, cause that's what I broke.. well, before the clutch pedal that is.
  15. Hydraulic, it's not Japanese though, and 147,000kms. I should add that the rear mirror OEM replacement is $400, to boot, if I could buy one, which I can't, cause nothing is open. But that's okay, because I can't drive the car now anyway lol. It's a good thing I steered away from an Auto, cause Auto VW's have problems, right
  16. So my rear view mirror just decided to stop working and not sit and the plastic little ball thing is entirely f**ked. Driving around with no rear mirror because nothing is open is great. Figured I could survive like this until next week until leaving a place last night at 1am and push clutch in to start car, hear something snap/splinter/destroy itself and now clutch pedal is dead. So good.
  17. This is right, and is the argument that XGTRX is making. I personally know many people exactly like Trozzle and Sleptema are talking about. Actual, responsible users who don't let it get the better of them, or get ahead of them. Pretty much the drug equivalent of the example above, a person CAN go out and drink once, and be just fine and it doesn't result in a multi car pileup while drunk off your face. This really comes down to personal responsibility. Australia is very, very, very ver very over policed and bad at this culturally. It's kind of why we live in a Nanny state. I found this interesting: I think the concepts between drug and alcohol use are effectively the same. The problem really isn't the drug, or the alcohol, or the speed limits, or the safety of cars, or the guns in America. It's the people using them and the information they don't have/the smarts they don't possess. The question is where should the line be drawn legally to protect people too stupid to protect themselves (and in effect, can hurt others). Countries like Germany have no speed limit, people fire off their own fireworks in the street, while drunk, with random people around, and everyone is OK with this because no one seems to be stupid and people seem to have this sense of personal responsibility. Yet in Australia you have people getting smashed with mates and one-punch killing people. Kids in Italy drink wine at age 6 with their meal and have no problems whatsoever. How do you get from where we are, to there culturally? Because really - That's the core problem, and I personally believe the answer is more information, more knowledge, more testing and actual open mindedness legally.
  18. I went to QLD once, went on 1 ride, was this, then left never to return to any theme park since. Also, sadly back at work too. f**king very frustrating trying to arrange practically everything, especially broken cars.
  19. I have 4 coilovers for a R34. They pass RWC and are pretty stiff, so if you're being harassed by the po-po these will do just fine. Supposedly they're "NEW SR SPECIALS" which yeah. Springs are also completely unknown! $200 for mystery shocks, that don't leak, knock, or do anything bizarro and will pass a RWC and are way better than stock! (or nearest offer) They were on the car when I bought it as a donor car to put my other suspension in. Did briefly consider leaving them in because the rear is a lot more stiff than my squatty (by design) sydneykid setup!
  20. The newer "OEM" ones from Kudos etc react instantly, so if you want to get your stock Oil pressure gauge to do something, replace the current sensor with a new stock sensor and you shall notice the difference.
  21. As someone who tweaks a tune all the time, I would absolutely love to avoid plugging a laptop in every single time, waiting for it to boot up, etc etc etc and plug in. Seriously I am bemused that in 2015(2016!) every major ECU (Haltech, etc) don't have some kind of USB/Bluetooth adaptor you can use, or a phone/android/iOS app to make minor changes on.
  22. Also when you think about it, a tune is required if you do anything that is going to affect air or fuel into the engine. So yeah, adding boost, changing intercooler, and changing exhaust all do these things, some to a bigger extent than others. And yes as above you can only tune the car if there is a way to actually edit the computer to account for the changes. This requires an aftermarket computer/ECU or a Piggyback or Chip to make the stock computer programmable easily (i.e Nistune). If there's no tuners nearby, it's absolutely worth getting all the mods done at once where there is a tuner available to tune them after they're on the car.
  23. Get Roomates, and advice pertaining to them on VWL
  24. Hey mate Still have bonnet and front guards. Not sure what you mean by aero panel? Do you mean the plastic liner behind the guard? I do have that as well. Sadly don't have a steering rack, I do have two exhausts though and a turbo, no need to steer when you're going faster
