Car used to run on 13.5psi without issue, problem has occurred several months after going down to 12psi, also occurs at 10psi. Doesn't R&R occur when the AFM is maxed out? Which if I'm correct is at 5v, according to Consult I'm only getting ~4.5v max on the AFM, I'll try logging tonight to get a better picture. Also, having hit R&R previously, there was a lot of black smoke and loud backfires from all the extra fuel, this is not happening. It feels more like the throttle body is snapping shut then opening straight back up.

Hi Guys, Looking for some troubleshooting advice, I have a 96 S2 R33 with turbo back exhaust, 12psi (turbotech mbc), Bosch 040, super spark coils and iridium plugs. For the past couple of months the car has been 'hesitating' under full throttle, you put your foot flat, the car builds revs as normal then all of a sudden it jolts like you've taken your foot off the accelerator and slammed it back down again, revs will continue to build for another ~5 secs then it will do the same thing again. This happens the worst in 3rd, 4th and 5th, occasionally in 2nd, never in first and occasionally it won't happen at all. Typically the earliest I see this problem would be roughly 3000rpm in 3rd, it does not occur in neutral. Things I've tried: - Removing intake from turbo right up to throttle body, visually checking joiners for splits and replacing hose clamps. - Tested BOV operation with a compressor, eliminated (blocked) BOV. - Tested wastegate with compressor. - Checked vac lines to boost controller, dissasembled boost controller and checked spring/ball moving freely. - Checked IAC vac line for visual splits, checked boost guage/fpr vac lines. - Visually checked SMIC for damage. - Checked AFM voltage not maxing out via consult. Anyone have some advice of what I can try next? Cheers.

Define budget? All of the cheaper units seem to be overkill on the bling factor. Head down to a JB and see what you like the looks of. It's not exactly budget, but the Alpine CDA-117E has the option of red or blue backlight, 3 stages of dimming and 'blackout mode' which turns the faceplate off completely, not even the track is displayed.

Closed, the BOV will start cracking open around 5 psi without the vac hose hooked up. When hooked up properly the boost line from the plenum will help hold the BOV shut.

Does this chip need to be removed / burnt and placed back in, or can it be tuned in realtime then burnt?

All 33's have the battery in the boot, it does need to be a special sealed type of battery, you'll probably also find a little breather hose nearby or already hooked up to your battery.

QFM A1RM on my 33, used to get fade on the stock pads but these have held up fine. Fronts lasted approx 7 months, wheels get quiet dusty, car stops up great and if you install them properly noise is minimal (taper edges, some goo on the back) Think I paid about $120 per set (front/rear) from GSL Rally Sport and will probably use them again.

The starter motor is just clicking, sort of like when a battery goes flat? A starter will draw well over 100a when cranking, if any of the cable runs are damaged (by water for instance) and are not capable of delivering 100+ amps (high resistance for example) then you will see similar behavior to that of a flat battery. Check the condition of the cable run from the battery in the boot to the engine bay, see what resistance reading you get.

So it wont start with just a jump pack, and it wont start with just jumper leads... Jump packs on the front, so I assume the car is jumping from the boot?

Also good for blocking outbound traffic so when you're fixing a virus infected computer you don't get flagged for sending out mass amounts of spam.
