Hey Guys, Wasn't sure what section to post this, so FI seemed most relevant! I was rear-ended last week by a bloke who admitted playing around on his mobile, most of the damage went to the rear left of my 33, the exhaust took a pretty bad hit causing it to be bent like a banana. It was a HKS Hi-power turbo back which the repairer has quoted at $2700 to replace. Now, somehow I managed to forget this on my policy (seriously), i've added every little piece of stupid shit down to the fuel pump and ecu but somehow I've forgotten the exhaust! Idiot. So of course my insurer has come back telling me to bugger off with the exhaust claim, however since I'm not at fault doesn't the claim go against the 3rd party? A few years a go I only had 3rd party on my own vehicle, I was in a not-at fault accident and the at-fault insurer replaced all parts with the same or comparable parts. If I was at fault in this instance, no worries, I'm at fault for the crash and forgetting to list the exhaust. But if I had no insurance at all, and I claimed directly against the 3rd party, like my previous experience they'd probably cover like-for-like parts, it feels like I'm paying more for full comp insurance but losing out. Do I have a leg to stand on here? Cheers!

Heya guys, I'm up with a mate from Adelaide for a few days and keen to check out the local events. Is the Saturday event drags only, any open track, passenger rides, etc? From poking around the jamboree site it looks ike spectators are $35 a head? First big event as Adelaide is almost dead for good track events Cheers.

You've just 10 fold increased my MNP boner Hadouken, that looks incredible! More pics plx Has anyone tried 'Meguiar's M66 Quick Detailer Polish', I've scored about 3l worth and providing weather holds out this weekend might give it a run. -
The problem is I can't find another one I've only seen 1 complete bar with lip and it went for just under $800. Thanks for the tips, i'll get some gear and have a play around.

Hey Guys, For the last 2 years I've been looking around for an R33 s2 mspec front lip, about a year a go I bought a front bar that had been in an accident with ~60% of the lip intact, it's missing a section that wraps around the passenger side. I'd like to have a crack at repairing the current lip or replicating a whole new one, where should I start? I've never done fiberglassing or molding. I assume taking a mold of the drivers side would be required, then somehow 'flip' it so it's a mirror image for the passenger side? I'm not sure how I would go about that.

A/c Compressor Types (I Need A Replacement!)
nicr4wks replied to nicr4wks's topic in General Maintenance
After 6 long months I actually found a guy wrecking a '97 33 and managed to get the exact compressor I need today Those Nissan part numbers seem to be pretty consistent accross the range.. the 96 and 97 compressors I have here have the same nissan part number however the hoses are definitely different sizes. It's only when you look at the Zexel sticker on the back you find a difference between the two. -
Hi Guys, I'm trying to match up compressor types to year of car and find out if any of them are interchangeable, can't seem to find a list or much info on compressor types anywhere. I have a 97 R33 that's needing a replacement and I'm having a shit time finding the exact same part no second hand. So far I've found 3 different types of compressors over the r33 range! Cheers to anyone that can add to the list or shed some light on interchangeability My 1997 Series 2 R33 GTS-T: Type: DKV-14D Part: 506221-2320 1996 S2 R33 GTS-T, this one has slightly smaller diameter hose fitting than the 97 (couple of mm), except for that bolts up the same: Type: DKV-14D Part: 506221-3470 199? S1 R33 GTS: Part: 506221-1102

New Speakers Quieter Than Old Ones?
nicr4wks replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
The original speakers didn't have +/- markings? Often they'll be printed/stamped near the terminals and can be nearly impossible to see without good light and viewing angle. Also you can test the ohms of the factory speakers with a multi meter if they're not marked. -

The simple green website has a degreaser listed but I haven't seen it at Bunnings either. I'm fairly certain I picked up the all purpose cleaner, I've just moved house and have no idea which boxes my cleaning gear is in. http://www.bunnings.com.au/simple-green-946ml-all-purpose-cleaner-_p4470276 -
Morning brahs. I'm going to start my first foray in to fitness, initial aim is 5-6km jogging through hiking tracks 4 nights a week followed by some at home lifting/crunches/squats etc. I've worked an office job for the last 7 years so I figure this will be a good aim for first couple of weeks. Is there some pre/protien/mix of supplements I should be looking at to help maximize workout?

Who's interested in a bit of a meet then? perhaps on a fri/sat night we have a meet somewhere followed buy an 'enthusiast drive'. We get out the people who are still keen to meet new friends and have a spirited drive without concern for the man coming down on us.

Thanks! There was a little bit of elbow grease but nothing to complain about. Spray simple green on, let it sit for ~10 secs, wipe over the spot a couple of times with a rag then hose off. At the very end I got the compressor out and dried everything. The green almost seems to 'lift' the grease from the paint, so you literally just wipe it off once it's been soaking for a few secs. That's an awesome polish job, it's so clear at first I thought you had taken a photo of the lamp and the red was lens flare -
This, I used to go out a lot and hang around with a good group of guys, could walk up to almost anyone else you saw out and have a chat or if you saw a few guys driving you could jump on the end and have a chat when they all eventually pulled over. Now days the older guys seemed to have vanished and kids have taken over, they all drive the best car that has ever existed and are pro hills drifters, it seems like a lot of them are in it for attention and aren't actually interested in driving or appreciate other cars. If you try talking to or driving with a lot of people it becomes a pissing contest, of course there's the odd one out but this is my general observation. People often blame cops but some of my good mates i've been driving with for over 5 years and we all met through car events, from stock skylines to 400kw 2jz setups and none of us have ever seen regency. IMO it's the 'super low stance' generation that attract the bad attention.

Looks like it came up pretty good I've got a couple of panels here i've meen meaning to have a crack at but i've got no idea, what process/steps did you use? (sand > clean > primer > paint > clear > sand > polish) etc. Quick wash and clay, followed by testing out Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish on the lip. Came up heaps better but definitely more to go. Spent probably 20 minutes just on the lip of this one, need a hell of a lot of elbow grease. -
Hi Guys, I've recently bought a turbo for my gtst that came with an oil drain that looks like it's off a gtr. The stock gtst drain will not fit as the flange is too big at the turbo end. The RB26 drain will not fit as the tubing is shorter and skinnier than the stock gtst one. I won't be near the car again for a few days to measure and I'd like to get everything ready to go when I'm working on it next. Does anyone know the diameter of the tubing on a stock 33 drain, and a stock gtr drain so I can find the fittings required to mate the two up. Cheers. Stock gtst drain: The bottom fitting came with the turbo:
