  2. Tthis is pedantic but does anyone know of any places to get some exterior trim clips for the R34? im tempted to call nissan but i know im going to get r*ped over 5c worth of plastic i snapped a bunch today trying to get them out but it seems like either im doing it wrong (likely) or the plastic has decayed anyone here use generic clips to hold their front bar on? any problems getting them to stay in? Cheers, Lench
  3. dang. looks like ill be cutting up that harness thanks
  4. Hey all after having some dramas with my install (something shorting and killing the electrics in the car at random times) I've decided to cut my losses rewire the whole thing After looking around on these forums i cant seem to find any info on the kind of harness i need i know i need to get the APP0120 (Nissan > ISO) adapter but from here is where i get stuck i cant seem to find a corresponding ISO > Kenwood adapter for my headunit (DDX5034) instead of a 14 or a 16 pin adapter it has a 20 pin adapter for which i assume is all of the extra DVD related stuff. should i get the Nissan > ISO adapter, cut it and solder on a new harness from Kenwood? or is there a specfic cable i can get that will connect directly up to it?
  5. well its time for my first oil change on this car but i cant seem to find any definitive answers as to what oil filter i should be using. ive tried the Ryco website stating that its a Z442 but now that i get it home, its way too small to fit on there. the one thats currently on it doesnt appear to have any markings leading me to the model number or size so what filters do you guys use?
  6. hey all i stupidly picked up some Mobil 1 0w40 oil for the R34 the other day (after being told any decent synthetic will do). now im being told it could be too thin for the engine so should i take it back and get something like 5w or 10w?
  7. Hi All sorry about the grave dig but i decided to look back into this issue instead of spending a rediculous amount of money getting an autoelec to look at it for me i noticed in the manual that there are 3 sets of immobiliser terminals (guessing one for IGN, oil and elec) if i tracked down which one was hooked up to the ignition and simply swaped it into immobiliser circut #1 would this work? do i have any danger of frying anything if i do this or is it a simple swap? (battery will be disconnected of course) plus i am planning on putting in a remote boot release solenoid. has anyone set one of these up before and still was able to use the manual lever in the cabin? edit: sorry cavell, im in Sydney
  8. nah its part of the alarm (one of the main reasons why i bought it)
  9. yep already tried to do that turned the ignition on, pressed button 3 (the little speaker button), alarm chirps once to confirm its on, turned the car off but the engine stops straight away edit: thanks for the info on the boot release (as i said im pretty new to skylines in general)
  10. Hi Guys, I just had my R34 fitted with a Mongoose M80G but it appears that the turbo timer function doesnt work. ive turned the ignition and hit the speaker button on the remote, it chirps to confirm its on but when i turn the key to switch it off, the car turns off straight away. was there anything specific that the auto electrician didnt hook up? as im new to the inner workings of the skyline, is the boot release electronic? or by cable? if its electronic, do i simply run a wire from the boot release line on the alarm to the switch next to the drivers seat? or is there something im missing? as you can all see im rather happy with the job the auto electician has done
