  4. Great to hear SAS has finally got their hands on an ecu, I started working on this with SAS sometime back with Project AXIS and we were 95% there and the only stumbling block was finding an ECU to get the other 5 %.(They didnt wanrt to risk stuffing up my ecu so we got no further until a test ecu bacame available) The target was 200KW at all paws for me with thre added mods of a full turbo back exhaust and Greddy front mount cooler. The AXIS has found a new home with a another fellow enthusiast who is good mates with SAS and I'm sure will continue with the final stages of Project AXIS now that you have struck gold with supplying a test ecu...well done and good luck with your development. Cheers TT

  9. Andy I'm sure it will be worth the power gain compared to piggy back systems only offering 10% gain and costing anyhwere of $1500 upwards, for that sort of money I would want to see better results. The car drives like a dream and it will be dearly missed, as you all know with the current exchange rates you cant even land an average AXIS for 30K let alone a fully loaded one. TT
  10. Hi Guys.....sorry for my hibernating status, have been in lock down workwise and havent had a chance to see what the rest of the worlds doing!!! The last time the car was booked in the tuner was having problems with the ECU responding to his inputs, and since the I was overseas for 2 months and cars were off the radar. I know you've all heard this before and its dragged on longer than expected but the AXIS will definitely be tuned and it is possible to get the Nm35's ecu to talk now!!! Now to add a twist to the story, AXXIS will be on market and come with all the bells & whistles that I have added, without getting into a long winded story about why???? With great regret it needs to find a new home and someone that will appreciate this amazing car and its tasteful mods!!! I will be avertising the CAR for $35K comes with 12months rego, New Goodyear 245/45 Tyres, complete Turbo back exhaust with Fujistubo Muffler, Greddy Front Mount Intercooler, All New slotted Rotors and Hawk Pads, Just had 40K service with Royal purple 10/40 fluids.... please note the Tuner has insisted he will honour a custome tune of the original ECU once he is 100%....right now he's 95% there hence why the long wait. Also comes with reverse camera, Double din stereo, DVD,DIVX,MP3. IPOD, TV, SATNAV etc....... PM me if you know anyone that is looking for a fully optioned AXIS....the number plates will also come with car and it lso has the Twin sunroof and co,es with the original AXIS wheels. I post up some current pics of the car in the for sale section. Cheers Tony
  11. Just to keep you updated, car will be booked in next week for a comprehensive tune....whilst I'm away on holidays I've managed to squeeze in the cue and book it in as they have 10 days to play with the AXIS and achieve the best possbile results, this will also remove the speed limiter and possibly tighten up shift points on the gearchanges as well. Fingers crossed should have some respectable figures for everyone in a 2 weeks time. Cheers TT
  12. Jamhe there's no need for retuning unless you're making any other mods to the car like upgrading turbo etc., once the car is remapped and performing at its optimum efficiency there's no need for any further messing about.....remember the main objective here is to achieve sensible power gains offering excellent drivability without having to consider wiring up piggy back options. To answer your question "Still waiting for a slot to book th car in" A standard BMW 335 twin turbo with no mods other than a complete remap of the ecu produced 235KW at the rear treads....remember that these cars produce 225KW at the fly in stock trim. Now I've heard of other 335's making close to 260KW at the wheels with turbo back exhaust & intake mods ,either way there is alot to be gained just from remapping a standard car. The XR6 Turbos have achieved amazing gains through ECU retuning without piggyback systems...and this has been the approach that I have opted for once the car in completely tuned with the mods in place i.e Turbo back exhaust & Intercooler upgrade theres nothing more to do other than just enjoy it....right Now all can do is wait until there is a time slot to book the car in.
  13. Greddy complete kit with piping, I purchased it from one of the forum members for $1K, now with the dollar its probably close to $2K to bring it in.
  14. Mate once he's cleared some cars out next week (There was a flood of Porsches he was tuning) ....he'll be focusing on the AXIS, the plan is to pick up my Christmas project which has been hibernating for more than 6 months and then book in the stagea. I'll find out some indicative pricing for you; at this stage I'm waitng for the green light to drop the car off and it looks more like we will venture into the new year before I have any raw info to share. Cheers TT
  15. Hi Euge, That is good valued & the guys do a fantastic job, hows your GTR project going???
  16. Damo, I'll call a friend who just picked up an ARX today with complete stock exhaust and he may be considering a complete Liverpool exhaust custom job Cheers Tony
  17. I spoke with the guys from liverpool exhausts recently and they sked me to bring the car back so they can jig up a complete full system as they have had a few enquiries. I've just had a friend who's purchased a BLK ARX with some Jap coilovers (looks tuff) & he's keen for a full system so I might get the guys at Liverpool to do a full system for him and we'll have a price range to work off. They would also be cool with a group buy discount for SAU members if the numbers stacked up; so if there is more of you out there considering dumps or fullsystems for NM35's then we can initiate a xmas special. Cheers TT
  18. Jamhe77, Like most of these intercooler kits, there's always a little bit of trimming to be done here and there, the reo bar needed some aluminium shaved off at both ends where the intercooler end tanks finish and slots for the stock cooler needed top be cut off so the Greddy clears nicley......now its sits perfectly behind the Bar. Cheers TT
  19. Thanks Eugene, The VSPEC has been a long time coming & its one of those special Toys that you never part with; It was a one owner car in Japan with heaps of Nismo gear never had any accidents or paint and its a realkeeper so I decided to give it a bit of TLC.....BTW finally got the cooler on the AXIS, no real noticable difference in Power, will just have to wait until the thing is completely remapped. The the reo needed some trimming and wasnt a straight fit with a bit of stuffing around....I'm sure it will serve its purpose during the hot summer months. Cheers TT
  20. Well looks like there's some consistency on a stock cars with many reporting anywhere from 130-140awkw, the boost does spike to 1bar but drops off according to the tuner that dynoed a blue Stagea vq25det...he didnt take notice of what variant the car was, but did say that the spike in boost didnt make more power. overall it dialled in 135AWKW He's been running some bench testing on the programming and he's getting pretty close...he's also promised me a little xmas surprise,...PROJECT VSPEC II will be finally gift wrapped on Christmas Day after 12months of waiting, hopefully while I'm running in the 94 R32 Vspec II during the Xmas break, he'll call me up to lock in the Stag for some intensive Brain surgery...Fingers Crossed, A fully Loaded AXIS & VSPEC II is my kinda Xmas.....Now all thats needed is a quick call to the Reserve Bank for a helping hand Guys would love to join you on Thursday but will have to misss this week.....maybe the 18th could be a goer for me Cheers TT
  21. I'll speak with the guys and find out what it was ....looks like we'll just have to organise a dyno day stricktly for VQ25DET's to get some stats on power & boost levels from stock to modified and see the differences from all the variants. AXIS, AR-X, RS Four etc....
  22. Hi Guys, I just got news that a fellow M35 owner had his car on the same dyno I will be using for the ecu mapping...he too was after a tune due to excessive fuel consumption...reeled off 135 AWKW, I'll find out more details later today. The car was with standard exhaust but surprisingly was running 1.1bar of boost!!! Surely this isnt standard boost on Stagea ....any comments on what others have experienced or checked what boost levels they're running. BTW I mixed it up with the Bavarian contingency over a Xmas drive/lunch to Mudgee via a pitstop to Mt Panorama......The boys in their Kraut machines now have total respect for the Samurai Shaggin Wagon as it gave a few of them the Royal Flyby .....Like all of you watching this thread; I'M NOW GETTING A LITTLE TOEY ABOUT GETTING THIS THING TUNED & SORTED....None the less the AXIS was the topic of conversation throughout lunch... May have to wait till the New Year to unleash the true potential of the VQ25DET!!! Cheer TT
  23. I second that...Turbo Back Dump, Cat and Fujistubo Legalis R....and its still reasonably quiet.
  24. The stock ECU will be completely remapped, the tuner is still sorting out fine details on a test ECU before he's prepared to start working on customers cars....like everyone else following this thread I'm keen to get this baby rockin....and I can assure you it will definitelty happen. There will be no bullshit piggy back systems here.....This will be a complete remap of all parameteres to get the best out of the car on 98 OCTANE fuel Once I'm given the thumbs up we will log before & after mods on the same day with same weather conditions so we can minimise & limit an variations. Be paitent my boy and things will happen Here's a sneak preview of a pre existing project prior to my purchase of the AXIS....(PROJECT BAVARIAN) M535I just swallowed a 1UZFE Quad Cam 4.0L V8 will be on the Road in the New Year
