  1. Yep you sure feel the weight under brakes.... Jetwreck any news on the cost of flares for the AXIS....You were sourcing an avenue for well priced parts for the NM35's any luck yet???
  2. That sounds like a reasonable guess....knowing that this guys dyno always shows condervative figures means I would rather the car perform at its best than just show up ridiculous figures. Once its all finished....would be great to compare other Stags with similar power outputs on the same Dyno. Having given the car a hard run through the Old Pac Road on Thurs Nights cruise....I'm very impressed with its standard form so any extra performance is an absolute BONUS!!!!!
  3. Yep its the Legalis R.... Once everything is ready to go and we can start mapping, I'l also get a few other Vq25det Stagea owener to do a power run so we can compare results off the same dyno. Cheers TT
  4. Mat its a real shame they couldnt get this car approved.....not to rub salt in the wounds but the AXIS is an amazing machine to drive...I've had mine for about a month now its an 03 Silver and I had the pleasure of joining a few fellow enthusiasts last night through an amazing peice of tarmac that was literally like a roller coaster & the Autech tuned machine lived up to and exceeded my expectations when pushed harder than I imagined possible. Glad to hear the nightmares over and justice prevailed...now move forward, keep up the good spirit and I'm sure an AXIS will come you way....check out my post on Project AXIS
  5. Great bunch of Guys & Gals.....nice spirited run through the Old Road, great to meet some of....Sorry I had cut my ride short would have loved to continue to Erina The AXIS once again surprised the S%^T out me with impressive corner speed through the twisty bits, this car is really something!!!! and Autech have done a great job with the ride & handling....now all I need is a little tickle of the turbo & some precision tuning to keep up with these Boys Thanks for a bit fun guys Tony
  6. Hi Eugene, Any reason why you had the car dynoed in 3rd gear? The intercooler wasnt a straight fit, there was some trimming of the reo bar needed for it to fit nicely.....there's no real noticable gain but we'll find out stats soon enough once we start mapping which unfotunately is taking a little longer than expected. Some pics of the provisonal mounting of the cooler Cheers TT
  7. Hi Andy, The brakes work a treat...New set of slottled RDA rotors, the front HAWKS ,fresh Brake fluid and give the calipers a coat of heat resistant paint.....she's good as new!!!! I spoke to the tuner today and he still needs some time before he's willing to work on the AXIS....this guys pretty meticulous and doesnt take any short cuts, if he could get his hands on a donor ecu that's willing to be sacrificed in the name of R&D....this would definitely speed the process up for all of us and explore greater avenues like potentially remapping shift points on the Gearbox. Doing a piggy back is no problem....but there is more to be had with the remapping of the stock ECU and he's very confident there are good gains to be had. To give you an idea he tuned a stock BMW 335i TWIN TURBO to 237RWKW.... remeber these came out with 225kW and 400nm at the flywheel, so we should potentially see between 180-200kw at all fours....time will tell!!!!
  8. $1500 gets you complete head & 272 nismo cams & everythibg else that came with it
  9. C'mon dood if its raining you should definitelty take the Old road...give the 4wd a good work out
  10. Damm rotors didnt arrive today so looks like they'll be in 2morrow & some bedding in is called for gents.....how many of you go through the Old Pacific HWY when heading up North?
  11. Was the car still running the factory Oil???....I had an interesting conversation with another R35 owner & engineer who feels the 0-40 blends are a recipe for disaster when punishing any of these high performance monsters & we should lean towards 10-50 or the likes of castrols Edge 10-60 for Aussie conditions.
  12. TOMEI RB26DETT METAL SUPER GROMMENT HEAD GASKET SPECIAL ORDER 1MM I had this specially ordered for an RB30 Project, Brand New metal gasket $400, the 1mm was a special order, due the project being canned i'm selling off my bits. I have complete GTR head & Cams for sale check out ebay listing http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RB26-GTR-PORTED-HEA...A1%7C240%3A1318
  13. Thanks for the Brake Pads Andy, great to meet a fellow enthusiast....should have the new slotted rotors in 2morrow & the car back on the road.....might even have the opportunity to meet up on Thursday evening with the rest of you.....if anyone is keen. Now the only thing left to do is lock in some Dyno time & start mapping!!!! Did anyone attend the dyno day at Unique last weekend??? PS. Just saw a dear friends new Ride!!!! Wow Premium Silver R35 GTR, spectacular machine......Wonder if the VR38DETT slots into the STAG Cheers TT VR38DETT.htm
  14. So what do you want for the front HAWKS??? Andy my brother has some Ultimates on a wicked R33 GTST with stock 4spot Nissan calipers, braided lines & for a car punching 368KW at the rear treads they hauled OK.
  15. So your looking at 206kw-70kw = 136kw at all four wheels estimated for a WGNC34???? Just ordered RDA slotted rotors all round & yes as one of our fellow members posted earlier both front & rear rotors are the same as 350Z touring with pissy little pads on the rear. Now I know some you are anti Bendix ultimates & others have had good expereinces ....and remebmer the stock brakes are not as bad as some of you make out! But can anyone provide a comparison.... value for money from standard pads to any of the aftermarkets that have been mentioned. How much are Hawks front & rear??? are they better or worse than Ultimates.....
  16. Jetwreck....I like your style....just the launch it!!!!! I'm keen to also find out if the auto can be tricked upped through ecu mapping & play with the shift points, I know of LS1 owners having there Auto TM's tweaked for harder kick back etc... BTW to keep with the theme of the thread...here are pics of my recent purchase M35 AXIS...you can also check out the Thread on Project AXIS. Cheers TT
  17. Dood what would be the general rule of thumb for drive train loss on a dyno???? 25-30%..., if a car is puching out 206KW at the flywheels standard taking a 25-30% loss would equate to 154- 144KW, so I dont see how the figures would be adjusted, I will ask the question regarding what mode the dyno was in, generally most power runs are done in shoot out mode...I could be wrong. Once we have the car schedules on the rollers same day, same weather conditions & same dyno modes I will be able to document before & after figures with as little artifact as posible....but would love to hear if anyone attended the dyno day, or have any power run figures to document. Here's a question to stir the Stagea souls.....has anyone compared a standard NEO RB25 to a VQ25DET on the same rollers....both cars produce 206KW but different Torque curves.....
  18. Sorry Jules, typo ...will be awkw, yep will be looking to see what the max power will be without stuffing around with injectors, turbos etc...... I dont have any stock Power runs yet as once he has everything he needs we'll go through the car methodically & I'll have stock exhaust first, then my turbo dump with Fujistubo catback etc.... This will be painful & tedious I know....but the guy is flat out & time is major factor here for both parties, not mention he has an array of regular Porsche customer who are overdemanding weekend warriors Guys one very important thing to note here is that, having had tuned and modified other cars in the past, I consider a dyno a fine tuning instrument & dont get too caught up in the figures as long as the tuner takes their time and maps the car correctly to the best of their ability WITHOUT popping its Cherry. There are alot of dyno junkies out there who chase every last kW and believe me figures can vary dramatically from workshop to worshop. I have heard of a stock ARX making approx 150kw at all 4 wheels, does anyone else out there care to share their experience....once I have figures will post before & after Dyno results. Unfortunately family commitments rule my SAT so it would be great to have some M35 power run figures posted if anyone is going to the Unique Autosports dyno day. Cheers TT
  19. Hey Jetwreck, are the flares all the same ARX. AXIS????? I've been told the AXIS flares come painted as they only came out in BLK, White & Silver......I'm also waiting on pricing ex-Japan as no one can give me a straight answer locally. Just got the car back 2nite after decoding ECU, once the tuner gets his head around all the algorithms....we'll be on the dyno mapping a New Brain I will be very impressed if we can reach our target of 200rwkw, with mapping & turbo back exhaust....also keen to see the hike in torque over standard. Keep you posted on the Bang for your Bucks
  20. Unforunately I dont, I beleive it was one of the Wheels Mag adverts, sent to me by a friend years ago. I think Nissan should bring back the old stick shift for the old school die hard fans & then we can really launch it!!!! With the amount of technology these days, it takes away the spirit of actually driving the car....these days the vehicles drives you not you drive them....a little bit of bitch factor keeps you in check!!.....seperates the men from the boys.
  21. Its a spec-V, I purchased it from one of the Forum members for $1K, they are worth around $1500 or more with the way the dollar is now. Guys has anyone purchased flares for the AXIS, my left rear quater was damged in transit, with a few scratches...I can pobably get it repaired but curious to find out what they're worth and if anyone has had the joy of trying to source these. They are defintely listed on the parts catalogue with Nissan.....but they still cant confirm any pricing for me
  22. Hey Gibbo, Great to see your sharing your enthusiasm again mate! Its been a long time since we've enaged on the forums. looking forward to seeing the beast in action, i'm sure you'll have worked out a new launch technique by the time Grandad Godzilla crosses your path ...yes mate the Original will be hot on your tail, check your email regarding the Xmas cruise. BTW Dave reckons he can tune the beast without any piggy back setups....food for thought, Cheers TT
  23. Yep with the hot summer months ahead, performance will definitely be sacrificed through heat sink when pushing hard......hence why I have plan B (Intercooler upgrade!!!), will be testing how the Greddy Intercooler kit performs over standard. TT
  24. Open to genuine offers guys
