  1. Same a series 1......... I find RB74's from Racebrakes a good all round pad. Warms very quickly and will give great braking. They will take CC and post out.
  2. Wouldn't that be RB20 or 26 Dave?
  3. Not a great idea but these are more for longevity rather than response. The bearings add weight to the rotating parts. A good plain bearing should have no contact as it floats in the viscous oil pulled around the journal. It will not last as long though, but well cared for will give a good life.
  4. One here mate http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=80276 He wants a bit though.
  5. Depends if you have an adjustable fuel reg. You can get more with extra line pressure and a larger pump to supply the pressure. Requires a retune though.
  6. I'll dig out some laminar and turbulent pipe flow data later and get some theoretical flow values. It'll take a while as I've got a pretty busy day and I'll calculate completely the airflow needed for certain power figures, the fuel required, the expansion due to the heat present and finally the pipe size needed. Then I'll do some acoustic calculations for SPL drops. Time to exercise the brain.
  7. Read the stuff on Pauls site. It will answer your questions.
  8. Even easier for the diagnostic is to take out the packs and use short plug leads to connect and disconnect. There is a cheap alternative being investigated in the Queensland section so take a look in the maintenance day thread or talk to ska
  9. Fluid flow is significantly different to electricity in practice despite the claims otherwise. Flow potential increases with a radius^2 relationship, and the conservation of mass/volume has to be maintained. So essentially if you stick to the simple A1.V1=A2.V2=volumetric flow rate. A and V being Area and Velocity then you can't go wrong. consider if you push 300rwkw through a 75mm (4415mm^2) pipe, and you increase to a 100mm pipe (7850mm^2) and the gas velocity remains the same the potential flow for power is around 530rwkw (which is far more than linear relationship attributed to just the diameter increase) Moral, 100mm pipe is just too big when 75mm (3") can deliver well over 300rwkw.
  10. 9-12Nm They are very prone to breaking so consider having a few spares ready.
  11. However if you could go out and be fast in a couple of laps and consistently lap within a couple of tenths of a fast time you really would be considered for a drive.........
  12. Wiring diagram is here http://members.dodo.com.au/paul/
  13. That's better. NICE. You all should try it on my chair with the twin drivers attached
  14. What....AGAIN???
  15. Been about a year now. Damn fine driver. Was having a lot of fun in the wind too (there isn't that much of her ) "helping" fold a tarp in the pits.
  16. You got it in one there mate. Drifters think they are slick, but a gravel rally is just a constant car slide and you have to be switched on and improvise the whole way. The navigator also isn't just a map/pacenote/course note reading piece of ballast either. You have to support and improve your driver, telling them when they've done good or caught a slide well.
  17. Don't work. Can you email it?
  18. Deren, this is why it needs the guide at the bottom. Consider that there has to be some minor flex at the free ends of the shafts for all the gears/pulleys when the belt is under tension. It will naturally produce runoff on the free end direction. Put the guide and balancer on and all will be good.
  19. ok what I was going on with was all too long. Lets just say my significant experience in the international world of quality engineering and manufacturing is at complete odds with your opinions. I commend you both on your parochialism and agree that we need those companies and their local product but they are not shining examples of quality or engineering excellence. If you are limited by racing class to a specific package there is no sense complaining. Your choice to race right? After all the money spent to develop the alloytech they gained little power, refinement, or economy. Wankers. Even the press have been slagging the boat anchor down. Renault developed a much nicer package in their V6. Back on topic, after the nostril debacle I am just happy to see the back of a car with some potential but gone well off the mark.
  20. justgetmemystuff......... Too much time mucking with your project. Eye on the prize!!!
  21. Remove the housing. The matching should be done so there is a smooth a flow line as possible, but some things just can't be perfect.
  22. So??I watched Leanne Tander doing a great job in the Vic Improved Production round on Sunday. It's a pity she doesn't get a Supercar drive but, well, she's a girl too I suppose.
  23. Soarer V8 is the sweetest, but that's my opinion. I just don't think the garage is complete without a V8 of some type. I'm not keen on the latest Holden 8's though. Sound like a vacuum. Be nice to hear what the remus does for Vusters'.
  24. Hmmm, nice to see one for the girls. Time for an interstate challenge.
  25. Deren, sorry I was thinking of something else when I replied to the message. Just press it back on the drive gear and fit the guide plate and balancer. It won't wear too fast.
