  1. Deren I have a tool to hold the harmonic balancer while the front bolt is undone/torqued. I'll check tomorrow to see if it fits the GTR as I made it for thr Soarer and it works ok for the RB25.
  2. Hang on :runs to garage: Yep, Brembo's and despite the sticker it ain't a VSpec (goddam sticker ricers). The R34 came with the same spec Brembos as well. Don't take it to heart, I was just having a lend but hey, you get to learn something, and it's free
  3. Scientists now investigating claims that the bass exhaust notes of the SAU environmental vandals caused the collapse of the latest Apostle!!!!
  4. Vacuum booster? On clutch? Maybe the throwout bearing is worn mate. Gearbox out to replace, but get a mechanic to have a look. It's hard to diagnose from the couch
  5. A neighbour of mine with an import had his rear plate stolen at work. It was used that night in a crime on a similar vehicle and he got grilled.
  6. Al this hasn't been law for many years. I bet the cop was just checking out MissRB25DET
  7. My O2's on the GTR needed to be disconnected to get economy. It was swilling the juice and Bennno told me it eats O2 sensors and had not long had them replaced. Disconnected and sho'nuff it's using at least half the fuel it used to.
  8. But the R34 GTt didn't get Brembo's??? nsta, if you are certain they are GTR33 pads can I make you an offer? Unless you have returned them.
  9. The GTR33 seats are not that solid. My drivers seat back was leaning to the left, then it broke and sagged just 3 weeks after buying the car. I pulled it all apart and straightened the left side back mount, which was just some crap steel sheet pressed with a small lip for strength and 2 stress concentrating bends across the pressing. After a significant quantity of bracing welds and quenching I'm satisfied (not "happy"). Once the initial movement started it appears that fatigue failures started throughout the whole bracket, so it's a bit cheap in my educated structural engineers opinion. Most un-GTR like in quality. Further, without the back fully supporting the base, tie-ing the whole structure together, there is evidence of movement in the base, indicating fatigue damage there as well so I'll have to remove the seat again and investigate to determine the damage. For the outrageous price asked for these seats, you would expect outstanding quality. They are good in a track environment with a full harness but uncomfortable on long drives or for those with wide shoulders but nowhere near the quality or strength expected. Opinion! Not worth more than $400 each in excellent condition from my close inspection of the construction. Just a factory seat, but an above average one. I'll take Recaro's anyday.
  10. cricket!!! Wpn't matter anyway, I'll be north
  11. Deren, in response to the questions asked, there is a high likelihood that it's just the seals. If there is no evidence of emulsified oil in the water or under the oil filler cap then it is improbable that the head gasket is leaking. It's worth noting that RB30 seals fit perfectly and are pretty cheap from Repco. I've had the front exhaust seal leak a lot worse than that and oil goes everywhere, covering the cross member. The rear still looks pretty dry as well and if you go short on the half moons some silicone will fix it. Good luck with the spanner rash.
  12. I see.... here's the link http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...4560924741&rd=1
  13. Just a quick helpout. The RB20 lines and dump fit straight up. I sent a turbo to Brisbane a few weeks ago and it was about $20 in a box not allowing for packaging material.
  14. Can't be, they have plastic on convertibles. So what has Kel done to the car this time? BTW a guy on Ebay is doing a front cut GTR32 but also has the rear end. Worth a look mate.
  15. Gearbox without a proper hoist and gearbox lifter.
  16. Gordon, time to pull them out and get a proper clean. The Slick 50 is the best I have found as well.
  17. I wouldn't bother with the springs, and the cams without modification reduce available power below 4K so much it's also not woth it. I fitted them and got more power up top, but a huge loss down low.
  18. Such a fanboy Troy!!! I'll take one of each.
  19. Sweet. Looking forward to them. How did the lap times compare?
  20. No worries mate. Nice 33 BTW. Best looking blue one I've seen.
  21. Don't try to justify your crime....you......you....criminal!!!!
  22. Quick, the chequebook!!! Lets go do some Mexican without Snowie hogging the hats and margaritas.
