So where is the break even point on one of these compared to an off the shelf turbo producing the same power/response? Edit- basically since GCG advertise around $2K for the rebuild, plus the cost of the housing, plus the work to modify the housing, would it not be more economical to just buy off the shelf?

1 AFM 1 filter GTR manifolds, modified to fit GTR dumps GTR front pipes, bolt straight to cat, modified for single O2 sensor Custom single intake piping As with any substantial upgrade a decent computer and engine support systems. The downside to GTR turbos is the ceramic turbine which can let go pretty easy, and the front one appears to have done so causing damage to the front 3 cylinders. Unexpected and impossible to predict. Time to RB26.

I'd like to see it do 10 laps of a race track. OK for a dyno queen or daily driver where little time on boost is seen, but on a track the heat will have time to soak and then you have a problem.

Talk to the Police Ethics unit and make a complaint. This crap will stop straight away. As long as you pass all emmissions then there should be no legality problems. Contact the coppa and ask him to provide an order that requires the eng certificate so you can use it against him when you talk to the ethics unit, the state police ombudsman, your local member of parliament, the police minister etc. Time to educate yourselves and take the fight to them.
