  1. Jack, sorry mate, got myself sidetracked with the car shopping. It's hanging in the garage waiting to be packaged but I'm going right now to wrap it and put it in the o.night bag. It's just me being a slack bugger. I have 4 others to get out tomorrow. Yeah it's Josh's car, and he's a really nice guy too. I'm still awaiting confirmation on the cash from the credit union. Wanted to wait until after I sell the house and have my own cash before I bought but this is too good a car to miss. Everything is just right. Not over the top, purple, turbos done with steel wheels, not defectable, not a leak in sight underneath, good power, nicely cared for...... bloody long overdue and I think I've earn't it. Still be keeping the 33 BBQ but selling the 33 auto.
  2. Was considering adding these to the stuff I'm fabricating, but there is too much potential for items not fitting. My track 33 had standard front pipe and Fuji 3" catback from Japan and with a new 3" front pipe bolting straight up I thought it would all be standard. I have the highflow cat out and a Race Cat in so made a jig to start fabricating. Then I got a HKS catback for the auto 33 and put the 3" front pipe on it (no longer on the track car as it's now TT) and went to fit the highflow cat and it was way too long. I just felt it was too much of a gamble to stuff people around expecting to make a straight fit up job of it so I won't be making them but they are about $160 from online shops.
  3. Nothing to see here Marcus...just move along
  4. Selling to move to Qld and start a new business mate. Hopefully something similar to Racepace. The GTR is a long overdue reward and while I was going to wait, I like this one enough to get a loan for the meantime. It's pretty much all I've wanted in a GTR. Not over the top, essentially stock and undefectable and clearly well cared for. Spoke to Ben regarding the history and he confirmed everything is all good. I expect to be approved but if it goes bad for me then there is some free info.
  5. Wrong time of year....it will rain. Be good for you lot to practice
  6. Yeah looks like I'll have to take it. Just waiting on the CU to advance the funds until I sell the house so should settle in a few days.
  7. Put in strong ones? I'll at least spectate as I don't think I'll want to race the GTR (pending)
  8. I'm working on it hoping for a nod on bridging finance tomorrow
  9. i'm considering 30k for my next set.....comes with a purple 260rwkw gtr as well:D duncan that's closer to what i think they are worth but a seller has the right to get what he can
  10. 2x33 GTSts and now hunting for a GTR33. I guess I just like 33's Also play in the V8 Soarer and 4 banger Laser Lynx so a car for every occasion.
  11. Training, and locations to safely do the socially unacceptable things. Much like a footy field except tarmac and crash barriers. Take the stigma --> coolness factor out of the equation and allow people to do stuff like a burnout or a handbrake/j turn in an area where they are soley responsible for their own damage. Can be used for basic loss of control training in obtaining a license and parking training. Cars are a way of life, Bathurst is a nationally cherished event and they won't stop the behaviour, but just cater for the ones who want to do it in a safe location. Cops can swing by in the busy times and say hello and offer advice etc. Guide to the solution, not bludgeon.
  12. Shan, another boost controller, hand controller and a DFA please.
  13. I'll give you a call later once I have determined what the better half has in mind for the day.
  14. Damn, I was interested before. When can I come look at it?
  15. Yeah I have the TT's off a GTR34 and the "twin turbo" top pipe but fabricated the rest myself. I just want something a bit nicer. So what I'm after is the visible Y pipe that goes to the turbo inlets, as well as the pipes that go to the "twin turbo" pipe from the turbos. TT pipe looks good polished, must do that.
  16. Good stuff. I had been led to believe the N1 was just a higher spring rate on the relief so it's good to see some testing. What I have confirmed from FAST is that the RB25DET and RB26DETT oil pumps flow exactly the same amount, but it doesn't detail any defferences in construction, so to all intents it is the same pump. I can't recall if the part number was different.
  17. I tell it as it is. Nowhere to hide. Shan is also a cross dressing girly........:whip:
  18. Stace, that's getting closer to their realistic value. Actually a really great buy with all the ricers chasing anything GTR and unrealistically driving the price up.
  19. Just rude of you SK to hide this in the Stag section Champion effort and great trick photography I'll be sure to just direct the team here instead of having to explain the procedure for cam belt/pully changes another time.
  20. Talk to the guys at Racebrakes http://www.racebrakes.com.au/ , particularly Howard. Sorry Charles but this is opinion I have formed from serious investigation into best value brakes and my experience on the track. Consider the cost of decent brakes like AP's against the fitting cost of Brembos and it quickly becomes apparent that your money can be better spent elsewhere tahn on Brembos. The GTR Brembos are about the lowest spec you can get, with the WRX STi Brembos a much better caliper overall. At the expected cost of GTR Brembos you just won't get the braking performance expected for the money spent. Also consider the master cylinder size and brake balance variation may detract from braking stability and performance. Finally, consider that on standard road rubber the stock GTSt (and I believe 200sx) brakes will stop just as well and the best value street upgrade is slotted discs with RB74 pads from Racebrakes and decent fluid like MOTUL DOT 5.1 or better and finally a master cylinder stopper. Even a quick calliper overhaul and braided lines will be worth a look.
  21. Godzilla, depending upon how complete the engine package is I'd suggest a little fudge in the quote. So the sump on the 26 needs to be welded to cover the axle holes. There is an hour from sump off to sump on. While it is off get a decent sump baffle just in case you go to the track. Will cost a few hundred but may be worth it. The loom needs to be fitted. 1-2 hours. Engine swap. 6 hours in a dedicated workshop. AC and PS are the same so they can remain in. Exhaust. Grab a $400ish front pipe off BATMBL as it will bolt straight up to a standard GTSt location in front of the cat. 1 hour to fit. Now here is where the cost will come in. If you don't have all the turbo piping the fabrication time will cost a squillion. I spent ages fabricating for the TT conversion. If you can get the pipes it will bolt straight up in a couple of hours. Otherwise consider 12 hours gone at least. IC to plenum pipe modification will have to be done as well. 1 hour. Save some time and money by ensuring you have the AFMs and O2 sensors ready to go. Also any other little detail fittings that may speed the fitting and save bucks. Negotiate an hourly rate and written itemised quote and you should see the cost plummet. I estimate with all going well only 13 hours, which at 80 per hour will be $1040 plus parts. Allow them to do all the fabrication and running around and the $3K is justified.
  22. Shaun, could this be provided with the piping to fit to the twin turbo pipe? I have one already but want the fittings from the turbos to TT pipe and the turbo feed pipe as shown here.
  23. Slide throttles are the answer, off a motobyke, but Troy will be your man.
  24. As he pours in a Sprinter and miscellaneous parts to fill your nice workshop. Good luck Troy, I hope it does well.
  25. A good high toughness steel like that should be fine to run the full length. The loads ar not great and you'll save a bucket on the ally. Interesting choice of steel though. Used in the plastic moulding industry a bit.
