  1. This is fairly common and is likely a result of the controller not having a rear steering angle to input for the power steering modulation. At least in the 33 the "hardness" of the power steering is controlled according to road speed, and after the lock install will get become heavily weighted at low speed, when it should be lighter. I noticed the normal heaviness at about 80kmh. With extra castor dialled in at the front for the track it is no longer noticeable.
  2. Nice piece of work. Looks like it's well designed. What grade of ally billet and what rod material are you using? I'd recommend rotating the rose joints so the grease nipples can be accessed on the car though. I've also seen one that uses longer rods with the rose joints directly bolted to the subframe. Might save some machining and material.
  3. When are we gathering to watch it then??????
  4. Great effort. Wish I'd had a chance to watch.
  5. Mmmm, I seem to recall that the GTR crank has a longer throw, but a lower compression ratio and the rods are the same length. So, using the standard 26 pistons would in effect lower the 25 CR even more then the standard 26 CR unless the combustion chamber is significantly different. All too hard anyway. The back has been upset again so the brain isn't functioning properly. I also recall the 26 pistons and rings came to about 900 bucks. Greg what are the ACL pistons retailing for? Never knew they did RB's. Anyway, I don't in anyway recommend reducing compression ratio. Sorry I'm not much help right now.
  6. Greg, call anytime, even today.
  7. Al, this is a good idea but I'd recommend an alarm attached to a sensor in the pot to advise on low fuel, then you could be aware of any blockage problems and pull over.
  8. Greg, certainly at the limit of safety with the standard FPR. Also so easy to get a gutload of bad fuel and clog the filter. Try here though http://www.rocketindustries.com.au/ Andrew, they would need both pump and turbo, and the FPR to make the flow on the injectors. 250 is a pretty good number though. The non RB26 nissan pumps are becoming an increasing concern for me in my research of engine failures. I have not yet heard of a 26 pump failing, but that may be due to smaller numbers and reporting. Can you double check it for me Greg (I know you have a bosch)? Looking for the flow past the filter if it is blocked and flow rate.

  10. I must admit these are good quality.
  11. Greg, sad to hear. The 25 has one weak point, and that is any lean running so as suggested look long and hard at the fuel system. Without a rising rate reg and upgraded pump you are close to the limit there (190-200rwkw) anyway on stock injectors so if a minor problem did arise there is little margin for safety. Go with the specs Duncan suggested, and for more detail call me, I'll send you a Pm with my number.
  12. Pretty much like over 80. There is no standard castor adjustment. We should discuss this in the tutorial to benefit others.
  13. Take a look in the tutorial , but the quick answer is yes it can get hard at low speed (40) due to the system being electrically variably loaded, according to speed. This is common but dissapears with extra caster.
  14. SH*T....aren't I a tool then dammit. See pic and don't laugh too loud at my misfortune. I bought these for the TT conversion. Also includes the plate lockes, gaskets for the dump to front pipe and the manifold gasket for RB25det but not the turbo inlet.
  15. V-spec he is talking about legally quiet but aftermarket Good stand Jax. This also appears to effect all exhaust manufacturers and retail outlets and may be of interest to them, and that sector of industry is too large, and too many jobs can be lost, if this gains momentum. There is a reason ADR's exist, and states are obliged to follow them under federal statutes. After a bit of reading though it appears that NSW has followed SA with protecting Police against mistakes in knowledge and judgement. Ultimately if you are not guilty then costs can be sought, but you have to be prepared to follow it through.
  16. You need an expert in dodgy dealings. Try Mark Skaife. He bought HRT and no-one has seen the cheque stub yet There are definitely advantages, but it's more like a novated lease where the money is paid out of company funds as pre-tax dollars as I understand it, but there is more to it than that . No expert here but I have been poking around at the idea.
  17. Baby steps mate. If we gradually change the mentality then it becomes normal to go to the track/dragstrip instead of all car enthusiasts being treated as criminals, and so acting like criminals.
  18. Ah your right mate, I was looking at the release date. Wish I was home to add my support. I want the track to reopen, at least for supersprints.
  19. Ska, did you attend and what was the outcome. Taking a look at the site and it seems some underhandedness is afoot. Bloody council rats.
  20. Apologies for non-attendance. I had more pressing matters to attend to. Good to see the commitee doing such a great job.
  21. Nissan, should only cost about $400 for all the gaskets.
  22. Could be you're right. Damn hot anyway.
