  1. Yeah that will give you the experience to make an educated judgement. X puss doesn't count.
  2. Remember to CALL Steve on the number provided. BTW Bump
  3. Before she went on to wreck Duncan's GTR32 engine at the Creek. Woman's a mobile disaster
  4. And while your at it luke, give the cam regrinds a plug.
  5. Have you tried the Aus Lexus Soarer club? http://www.lexus.australia.as/entry.htm
  6. OK just to clarify, standard inlet cams will not have 4 bolts to locate the cam gear but a single one for the VCT gear. It also incorporates the seal surface on the cam gear. That one must have been modified. A bit of an expense for bugger all improvement when a GTR set that will take the vernier cam gears can be reground to suit RB25 with hydraulic lifters for $280 plus shipping at Ivan Tighe in Brisbane (one of the forum members works there). the added bonus with GTR cams is the added lift and duration giving a greater top end performance. Without the regrind the 25 has nothing under 5K rpm, as I fitted a set for a day to see for myself the effect. That is, by the way a nice looking engine. thizzle, are the 20 cams made with the same lift and duration? I never wasted any time to find out.
  7. If you are confident enough you can have a rough go at aligning the rear visually, making sure it has a little toe in rather than toe out. Many say that they install the bar and the alignment is almost spot on when they go to the tyre shop, but there are those ones that aren't right and it can be dangerous if not corrected soon, hence my instructions to get the alignment checked. Really should not be more than $30 if the front is good.
  8. WTF, that isn't an RB25det inlet cam front end. It isn't even an RB25 by the looks. RB30/31det as a guess from the tensioner location above the water pump and the amount of block above the pump. Were those cams custom? The poncams would likely take the VCT cam gear so would leave you with the same deal, but I am no expert on them so get another opinion, but the improvement of the poncams alone would be worth the effort.
  9. Putting in reground GTR cams will allow removal of the VCT, without the issue of the solid lifter ramp angles on the cams and giving a little extra lift. So then you get higher lift cams, and can use a vernier cam gear to beter take advantage of the higher lift.
  10. Time to find someone else for the aligment. just get the rear done.
  11. # 1 at TDC is defined by the yellow mark on the harmonic balancer which is preceded by several white marks in a clockwise direction (to enable timing for advance position). If the balancer is off then there is a dot on the cam belt drive gear that aligns with a V notch in the lower shroud cast into the oil pump housing.
  12. Cheers mate, just thought I was being accused of being a massive tool for stuff other than what I already knew about
  13. Cheers mate. Mine are custom modified to suit the RB25 so I'll have to get them done myself. Gotta pull the head to find why 1,2,3 are low on compression and 4 has no fuel from injector so might as well optimise the setup. Just running GTR34 BB turbs but dreaming of 2530's...
  14. Thank god (well he's local isn't he? ) for Qld cops. Some of them still do proper policing it appears. So that car will maybe up for sale soon at the police auctions...to cover costs after being impounded? Could be a drift bargain!
  15. Remember I have 2, and a third if I get the red one going in time to take advantage of this great deal.
  16. I'll get one done definitely, and most likely a second and maybe a third if I can get the red barge going again soon enough.... Geoff Williams 0408 124 767
  17. Next time, real karts at Ace or Somerton.
  18. What's the expected cost for this kind of effort John? And fatz, I don't even know what choko durries are
  19. Luke, I've been slack and not on for a couple of days but will hopefully get them away today. Ivan Tighe's huh, had some cam work done there before when it was near the city. Very impressed with the rep and the work done. As for Qld, give me ummm ......3.5 months and Vic can go to hell, or antarctica, whichever is closest.
  20. So the only remaining detail, where to send them.
  21. They posted a thread recently....worth a search mate.
  22. Just one final question, will the extra 0.5mm lift require upgraded valve springs in the 25 as that would seem to take lift to 9.0mm inlet, correct?
  23. I recall there are a few tv's in the place so maybe can plug into one of them.
  24. Luke if I can find a secure package to ship them in I'm sending mine up (well Roy's old ones) for the regrind as Crow want 350.
  25. Glad to hear it and good luck getting the cash back.
