Power to the injectors is constant through the resistor pack, and the injectors are earthed through the ECU with individual wires to open them. The resistor pack is on the drivers inner guard and has one power wire in and six out to each injectors so this is a likely start. I don't recall a fuse though but may be wrong. Good luck.

R33 GTST parts for sale
GTRgeoff replied to skylinesteve's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Guys, I hope you are calling Steve as well. Read post 1. -
I understand what you are talking about, and I'm just a mechanic (oh and a mechanical engineer) so maybe he's a bit of a dunce. There is no way to confuse header with dump. Anyway, I have a standard manifold as I just did a twin turbo upgrade with Snowies GTR34 turbs so feel free to make me an offer, and you are welcome to come to pick up.

Genuine, about $90 from JustJap delivered overnight.

Anyone know where to buy new ARP rodbolts in Melbourne?
GTRgeoff replied to R33RWKW's topic in Wanted to Buy
Try VPW in Epping. I saw they stock ARP but no idea on price. -
Modifying Under-Car Airflow
GTRgeoff replied to 4door_Sleeper's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
As always, it starts out slow then builds the info base. Being very much into aero I am keen to see how this develops. It may not address my needs as I get plenty from the current race engineering periodicals but it does intend to address some areas of interest such as wheel drag which is a combination of frontal drag and hypoidal motion causing drag at varying rates over the different surfaces. Bring it on JE. -
race car R32 1992 GTS-T for sale
GTRgeoff replied to dannyboyau's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Sounds very good but the Bathurst cars were R32 GTR's. Might want to mention what category it raced. Good luck with the sale. -
R32 GTR front brake disc size upgrade!!
GTRgeoff replied to Ronin 09's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Not a bad price but look for soome in the for sale section as it may work out cheaper to get them reco'ed. When they first started coming in they were asking $600 a pair. -
I tried this late last year, just for the hell of it and found a huge loss of power under 5K, but I hadn't bothered with retuning due to no hand controller. Over 5K it felt better but that may be an illusion after the low power. I haven't given up though as I will be getting the GTR cams reground with a little less flank angle. Cost is about $350 so with the minimal cost of the cams is still worth doing. I priced the GTR shims and followers and it was going to cost a squillion from Nissan. Had a discussion with Ben from Racepace who had cam doctored to determine the difference and he felt it would react the way it did. Whether it is tuning or the lost seal at idle it won't matter after a cam grind.

Suspension Experts in Melbourne
GTRgeoff replied to Bepo's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Try Chris at Centreline in Thomastown. Worth a visit to see the number of racecars in there. -
From memory under Vic legislation there are padding requirements for all elements of the cage that can be contacted by the head/body.

Just cranking this up again, hopefully it will mail the new post but the forums been a bit funny about that lately so I'll PM a few people. Funky is going to join me for breakfast in Mill Park Lakes at the Lakes Cafe Sunday morning. I think between 9.30 and 10.00 is a good time to start. So if anyones interested please post back so we know what size table to grab...and I can tell you all how my engine died (again) after a twin turbo upgrade.

Steve I'll take the strut brace if you remember to bring it on the weekend. BTW Bump -
skylinesteve is selling one with a hand controller.. Look in for sale

Well I had a look in the cylinders. All are wet inside except number 4 which is dry and has a red burnt look. Guess which one I think is dead?

RDA Disc Brake Rotors
GTRgeoff replied to yogi000's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah they are pretty good value, and with the racebrakes pads and slots on the front they really do bite hard and pull you up. In Melbourne they are overnight delivery as well to the brake shop I use. -
FS: GTR Injectors & Apexi SAFC-II
GTRgeoff replied to Hawker180's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Luke I'll take the injectors. -
Thanks for the sentiments guys. Still a bit shattered.......haven't laid a finger on the car since but I'm going to grab a bore scope and pull the plugs to look at the pistons. It cranks smoothe but won't fire and there is that smoke and oil from the can. May have to get a towie to come put it up the driveway and into the garage as I'm not too keen on pulling it down in the street. Plus the lifting rig is in the garage. At least Robbie at Creatd can get individual Arias for me if the damage is not too bad. Troy, I hear you but the blame is all mine for not going the extra yard and testing the injectors. Operational tunnel vision it's called in my line of work. Too focussed on the one outcome that other elements are invisible. This was meant to be a monumental weekend. I had a few drinks last night and just tried to forget....now time to go pull the plugs. Enjoy and bring them all home in one piece guys.

R33 GTST parts for sale
GTRgeoff replied to skylinesteve's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Spoke to Steve this evening. This is a mixed lot so you will have to call and specify which bits you are interested in. Just confirming the number, 0404072923 as Steve is using the library while his 'puter is broke. -
Well team, sad news. I got the car running today and went over the injectors with a stethoscope as it was a bit missy when I first started it. It all settled down and was idling nicely, responding nice to the throttle given no tune yet on the larger injectors and was run for an hour. I enjoyed the sound of the BB turbos still spinning 30 seconds after switching off and the sound of the GTR twin pipes gives it a new tougher note. I jumped in to go to the local servo for some air for the tyres and just see how it was going...all good. I left the servo, pulled second gear and brought the boost up to a whole 5 psi as I got to 70kmh and then it started missing for a brief moment, then the note changed entirely. Looked in the mirror and there is a ghastly grey/brown cloud of smoke. Had to stay on it a bit to get it home, a whole 1 km. Tried to get it up the drive but it stalled and hasn't started since. Popped the bonnet and cranked it and there was the deadly sign of a blown piston....white smoke from the catch can filter. AT 5 PSI!!! The one thing I didn't do was assure myself and clean the injectors, even though they were supposedly cleaned and flowed. Was running short on time nd overlooked that one detail, even though I was meticulous with every other part of the fuel injection and keeping the injectors clean. I'm still a bit shattered but hopefully it is ok for a single piston replacement with no machining. DAMMIT!!!! Have a fun weekend. I'm grounded

RDA Disc Brake Rotors
GTRgeoff replied to yogi000's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
My price was fronts and rears with slots in the front. Aitch, with the RDA's there is a greater number of vanes than standard, and while they are straight, and not curved, for the price compared to DBA they do the job admirably. That said, I am current in the fields of metallurgy, structural engineering and aerodynamics and see no need to validate their product design philosophy as anything other than novelty. They still aren't raced seriously anywhere other than a few Tags guys. Also when industry professionals comment that they are overated and over priced and inefficient at cooling with multiple hot spots it carries weight. I would rather spend a little extra on the alloy hats with floating discs when I eventually upgrade, but the RDA's do a great job on the racetrack for now. -
Denham, I was there yesterday, it's a whole 5 minutes away so I'll grab it if they have it in stock. Roy, done. It'll have to be Friday. I have my mate up from Traralgon Thurs. Running just a bit behind with the work. Took longer than I wanted with the intake fabrication to the turbos and I need extra bends for the turbo outlets. Stupid GTR's run 38 mm outlets that go to 62mm(2-1/2") then to 83mm (3-1/4") which I then have to take back to 62mm to suit my piping. I also want to reroute the piping to my throttle. Might have to get the tune tomorrow.

RDA Disc Brake Rotors
GTRgeoff replied to yogi000's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
no probs on bias with the 33. the 34 has a different master cylinder so that may be the answer. Were you running without abs to discover this? From memory I paid 560 for the discs. I also run racebrakes rb74 front and comp 2 rear. -
RDA Disc Brake Rotors
GTRgeoff replied to yogi000's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
They are fine. I use them on the track with the slots on the front. The rears are barely used so plain is fine. Truth be told the DBA's are not as special as many believe. The kanga paw is just a novelty and would create many turbulent areas in the airflow. No-one seriously professional races with them but stick with straight or curved vanes -
Roy I can come and pick them up when you are back in town, but I'll happily use them
